I'm going to disagree with you there. There were weasels long before Clinton's time. Woodrow Wilson is the first name that comes to mind. Carter and Nixon would have to be up there on the list as well. FDR surely wouldn't make my list as courageous or as having an excess of integrity either.

21 "Pro Gun" bills in the last 4 years?
LagerHead replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
LOL. It's only one of my many, many favorites. The best parts of my collection are my two bottles of Samuel Adams Utopias 10th Anniversary and my bottle of 1997 Samuel Adams Triple Bock though. -
21 "Pro Gun" bills in the last 4 years?
LagerHead replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The government does not give us rights. It's the other way around. The Constitution only enumerates and (supposedly) protects those rights that are ours by virtue of being human, not because of the altruistic and benevolent nature of our government. So no, the people who wrote the Constitution most certainly did not give me any rights and the dirtbags to whom our nation currently bow certainly do nothing to protect them. -
I'd go with the one who was smart enough to cheat and bring a gun to a knife fight.

21 "Pro Gun" bills in the last 4 years?
LagerHead replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Until they fully recognize the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America they can pass all the feel good B.S. they want so they can tell themselves they are pro-gun. But as long as I have to pay for the privilege of exercising rights given to me by God they are not my friends. -
I'm sorry, I misinterpreted auto-renew. What I meant was it was supposed to update your profile once payment is received.
-
They are supposed to auto-renew but this is the second time we've had this complaint in the past week or two. Peejman, rest assured David will be along shortly and get you fixed up but his day job does keep him hopping. Apologies for the inconvenience.

All in all they're still easier to clean than a gas gun. The upper doesn't need much, if any cleaning. The bolt has been covered and on my Sig 556 I never once cleaned the lower receiver. When you finally do have to clean it, assuming you have cleaned a direct impingement gun, you will be pleased. Great gun.

I hope this works for you. I always feel dumb after reading Dolomite's advice on ARs. That man has forgotten more than I'll ever know on the subject.

I am in IT and use Chrome. I like it. However the reason you seek is that the computer you are using doesn't belong to you and therefore you don't get to make the rules. That being said, as long as it doesn't turn into an HR issue I would just keep reinstalling it. It only takes a minute. Or hide the icon somewhere less obvious.

I know you're not the only one to say this but I'm gonna pick on you because you were last. Fair is fair, right? ;) I do it on the Internet too, and here is why. There are topics, like guns, about which I am fully prepared to debate and since clearly the facts are squarely on our side I will win. However, there are topics about which I am right, yet not prepared to debate. So you do you know what happens? I don't debate them. I stay silent. Global warming is a prime example. Global warming alarmists tend to be well versed in the "science" and can trounce me even though I know enough to know it's bunk but not enough to say why. The point is if we can silence the opposition because we can demonstrate to enough of them that they are not prepared to debate us on this topic then it is a de facto win. And a win in public opinion is often, though admittedly not always, a win in the political arena. And that is where this battle will truly be won or lost. Back to my point on political correctness, we stay silent about some things rather than offend someone and it turns into a political loss for the right (and the right, if you catch my drift). This is one area on which we cannot afford to stay silent. When it comes to our God given rights we need to talk (type) until we are blue in the face (fingers). The last thing we need is to say, "If I had only done more," when our rights are taken away. Let's at least go down swinging.

I really like piston guns. Of course I don't do enough shooting to justify them but it is a pleasure to be able to clean the bolt in about 5 seconds. Of course the piston rod and tube are a different matter aren't they?

Agree 1000%. I don't like being treated like a criminal unless I'm acting like one. Yea, it's past time for us to decriminalize acting in accordance with the Constitution of the United States of America. Waaaaaay past time. No, but one has to wonder why continue to frequent such a crap hole. And as you know, we have a long history of changing our behavior based on the opinions of those other forums that are so wonderful they get about 10% of our viewership so please feel free to enlighten us. We're all ears.

I disagree with his assessment. Part of the liberal agenda - the part at which they have been extremely successful - is to control the language or the debate. They have introduced political correctness into our way of thinking so that people are more likely to stay silent than to say something that might offend the one female minority dwarf with a skin condition living in the mountains of Tibet. What we need to do is to take back our right to say what is right even if it offends someone. What I am suggesting is that we need to be ten times more informed on the subject than the most (mis)informed anti-gun person. If enough us knew enough to counter the top ten arguments successfully they would eventually stop making those arguments to us. Eventually the only people that would listen are the ones, like them, that will never be convinced no matter how soundly you trounce their arguments. In other words, we need to control the debate. We need to be the ones on the side with all the facts and everyone needs to know it. Sun Tzu said to know your enemy, and he was right. When I first really got into guns I of course was confronted with the barrage of misinformation about guns, gun owners, statistics on shooting yourself while in the shower, and all the other crazy nonsense by anti-gunners. But at that time I naively believed that all of the information they were spewing couldn't be wrong. I figured they weaved their lies with just enough truth to give their arguments real world credibility. So I started doing research because I was curious how much of what they were saying was true and how much of it was bunk. My research surprised me. It's all bunk. All the top arguments used by anti-gunners are either complete made-up garbage or based on extremely poorly conducted "studies" like the Kellerman one that were debunked before the ink was dry but still are repeated by a gun-hating media daily. So if you haven't, do your research. Try to debunk both the pro-gun and anti-gun arguments. You will find one is much easier than the other which gives us a huge strategic advantage in controlling the message. Of course we'll always be fighting an anti-gun media but if we can get enough folks with a voice to destroy Piers Morgan and others in these debates maybe we can sway some of those that are on the fence. And remember, it's the fence-sitters we are trying to convince, not the die hard Sarah Bradys of the world. Folks like her know the truth but spout lies by choice and will never be anything but 100% opposed to our rights. So don't waste your time trying to convince them. Maybe silence them. That's just as good if you think about it.

I have to agree with Dave here. You definitely owe it to your children to indoctrinate them in the politically correct liberal version of history rather than have the opportunity to provide a filter and maybe tell them what actually happened. For example, I sure as heck don't want my kids to know that FDR EXTENDED the great depression rather than ended it. I want them to know that increased government spending is the answer to all the world's ills. I want them to believe that the Federal Reserve is not a misnomer and they had nothing to do with the devaluation of our currency, out of control inflation (also known as the "hidden tax") and encouraging the horrible business practices that lead to all the bubbles that eventually burst in this nation. Besides, home schooling is easy. It requires no sacrifice in time or money on the part of the parents, unlike public schooling. You owe it to your kids to encourage them to be dependent on and beholden to a benevolent state. You owe it to them to learn to accept the low standards set by our schools and discourage them from demanding more of themselves. Come on folks, wake up and get in lockstep. Your bosses and mommies and daddies in the government are depending on you. :shake:

The permanent record thing is a myth. This will not affect him beyond next week.

Just because the Supreme Court hasn't ruled on it doesn't mean it hasn't been proven. Here, I'll prove it right now. The 2nd Amendment, which is written in clear, concise, and easily understandable English says, "A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." There, I just proved it.

Homeland Security Creates "Constitution-Free" Zones
LagerHead replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Because even the dimmest bulbs can see it happen when it happens all at once. But apparently even "the brightest" among us can't detect it when it only happens in increments. Makes you kind of wonder what some consider bright, doesn't it? -
Fantastic. Maybe they could move near Barrett and partner with them to make mags for the big guns too. Hell we need to get all of the firearms companies out of states that hate them like New York and Massachusetts and get them down here where we love them.

Left, right clash at latest hearing on guns
LagerHead replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That article was full of lies. The 1.5 million number is a lie. 94% of denials are overturned on appeal. And that 8 in 10 number at the end is just total bunk. -

Jim Cooper is a smelly pooper. That is all. -
Funny. Just after posting I signed up on there. Guess what my user name is. Go ahead. Guess.
