West Nashville gunsmith alternatives
LagerHead replied to RandyC's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
In my opinion Jeff at G&L is worth the drive. I live in Pegram and if I can't do it, Jeff does it. -
If one terrorist is stopped, if one child is saved, if one person doesn't jaywalk...Where the hell does it stop? There is no such thing as 100% security and I don't want my government of the idiots, for the idiots, and by the idiots searching for it.

I love the looks of the new 'Vette but I'm a die-hard anti-GM guy so I wouldn't buy one no matter the cost or my money situation. I probably wouldn't turn down a free ride though. I just wouldn't admit I enjoyed it. ;)

NY Times: The administration has now lost all credibility.
LagerHead replied to Garufa's topic in General Chat
We don't need an entire thread. We can just sum it up to say we have lost at least part of every one of them. We no longer have unabridged rights that are supposedly protected by the Constitution. But it is a good sign that even the lapdog media have had their eyes pried at least partly open. -
DVR set to record. Thanks for the reminder.

You think this doesn't apply to every search provider? Rights are a thing of the past brother. Just deal with the new world order. It is here.

How does a boy that age know what to do in a situation like that? Must have decent parents.

For Bloomberg, Gun Control Fight Shifts to State Capitals

The lesson to be learned here is that freedom-hating liberals do not sleep. They lie in wait for us to drop our guard and then pounce like a starving cat. -
Calling all bikers!!! What do you have/had?!

No way. Virtualization is a very marketable skill these days. Especially if you know several flavors. To be honest, being a full-time Exchange admin would be a pretty boring job, even if it paid well.

From NY (oh noooo) fighting for our rights!

Tell the kid to look for a job down here. Then when he finds one, you can follow and be with the grandkids. Just a suggestion that of course is easier said than done. But hey, it's a plan. -
A strong nation made to look weak?
LagerHead replied to Randall53's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Nope. History will show that he is the greatest President since FDR. History will show that the Republicans blocked his efforts to shorten the recession and that his Keynesian policies would have done just that. History doesn't put Democrats in a bad light. -
I don't know. This guy makes it look pretty cool. Yes, this is on the Dragon, and yes that is a Goldwing outrunning the sport bike with the camera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxHNnOHuikI EDIT: I think the camera guy is on a Goldwing too, not a sport bike.

One thing new (and some old) riders need to remember is that bikes are purpose built. Cruisers, oddly enough, are meant for cruising. They aren't meant to be on the Dragon or Mulholland or the myriad similar roads. If you take them on those roads and feel like you need to show off, expect to become highlight reel material. And of course, just because you have an R1 and some kick ass leathers doesn't mean you can ride. It just means you have a better chance of walking away from your embarrassment.

Unless you see it coming a mile away we're probably all going to have the same reaction. It's natural to try and catch yourself even if you know it's going to end badly. True R_Bert. You need to stay in the throttle through a turn to take advantage of the gyroscopic motion of the rear wheel which provides balance. As counterintuitive as it might seem, often the best thing to do when you're coming up short in a turn is to give it a bit more throttle. Hitting the brakes is about the last thing you want to do unless you have a strong desire to leave the roadway.

I don't understand you folks that will not buy a brand due to a bad experience with a dealer. You all know there are myriad personalities out there and to pay (possibly) more for what you consider an inferior brand just because some guy at a random dealership was pissy to you doesn't make sense. Do you honestly think your chosen brand has nothing but outstanding salesmen and no a*holes?

There are definitely some important life lessons to be gleaned from that story. MSG Crawford exemplifies an ideal to which we should all aspire in our everyday lives. RIP, MSG.

Maybe. But snopes.com isn't where I originally heard about Phil denying that it happened. It might have been foxnews.com but don't quote me on it.

That actually never happened. Phil confirmed it. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/duckdynasty.asp

I just got two bikes, but as stated, the weather and/or other commitments haven't been cooperating. These are mine. 2010 Marin Alpine Trail 29er 2011 Trek 4500

When my dad was stationed at Ft. Carson we too lived in Fountain. 7311 Old Pioneer Trail. We were the first owners of that house. It was great living there as a kid. There was lots of room right behind the house to ride our motorcycles. We would just take off out the back door of the garage. Good times.

Funny, I thought of "Poltergeist."

Bill That Makes Proposing Gun Control Laws a Felony
LagerHead replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I didn't make my point clear but your wording here will actually help me. The point is, your solution to politicians "passing stupid overreaching laws" is for politicians to pass a stupid overreaching law. Many laws that are passed are considered constitutional until someone challenges them and the Supreme Court makes decisions on them. You would have to be able to gauge intent. Of course publicly every law passed by our all-knowing and wise politicians is for "the children" or "the greater good." We both know the truth of course. Either way, it's not like there are ever more than two politicians out of a thousand that would ever pass a law that didn't either directly or indirectly benefit them, let alone runs the risk of doing them actual harm.
