Love it.

Ben Franklin said it best: "They who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
-
Do you not wear a seat belt and disable the air bags too? People get killed by both of those too, and I would wager at roughly the same rate, so they're really not worth the risk.

I too missed this until now. Sorry to hear the bad news, especially for such a great couple who obviously have a lot of love for their animals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Folks in both parties didn't push for gun control. While I think both parties need to be cleaned out, I don't think this is the right reason. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My point on this whole debate is this: It's easy for us to sit here and bash vaccinations for relatively minor things like the flu (which still kills thousands every year) when we are so far removed from things like small pox and polio. They both have been eradicated by and large from the use of vaccinations, not by avoiding them. Let me as you all this: How many of you would refuse a cancer vaccination should one be developed? I would certainly take the small risk associated with vaccines to lessen my odds of coming down with "the big C."

Saw that coming a mile away. Still made me smile though.

I think it's just you, Ted. Ever met someone who said, "I can't understand why I got polio; I got the vaccination"? The flu shot is not a 100% guarantee you won't get sick, but it lessens the odds and often the severity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Music City Tactical Shooters - IDPA match 1/4/14

The best part was the constant malfunction drills I was able to perform. Fun fun fun! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Yep. I think a lot of folks here have generated from Gordon's excess of kindness and helpfulness. He's a hell of a guy, and I haven't even met him...yet.

Sorry Sears, but we need to start seeing other people
LagerHead replied to NoBanStan's topic in General Chat
The mistake that most people understandably make is thinking that Sears is a retail outlet. They are not. They are a credit card operation. Their money is made from their credit cards, which is why they (almost) always ask, "Can I put this on your Sears card for you?" Once you understand that, you will understand where their motivation comes from. I no longer shop at Sears either because they pretty much peddle junk nowadays. I can get junk cheaper elsewhere. -
I'm on PS4. My screen name is DRENREEB. (Read it backwards)

Probably the same reason you have people that get these huge man crushes on random people on the Internet because they talk a good game. I completely get the idea behind forums and I like them, obviously, but I don't get this sense of celebrity that sometimes comes with it.

Cancer victim booted from Mortons for not removing his hat
LagerHead replied to Dustbuster's topic in General Chat
Remind me again: Why is it that gun owners get a bad rap as being hotheads looking for a fight? It's not coming to me. :shake: -
Cancer victim booted from Mortons for not removing his hat
LagerHead replied to Dustbuster's topic in General Chat
My guess is they would have accepted the dare. If they'd call the cops on some folks objecting to a "no hats" policy for a cancer patient, the SWAT team surely would be called for someone who starts flinging dishes. -
Cancer victim booted from Mortons for not removing his hat
LagerHead replied to Dustbuster's topic in General Chat
This is all it would take. Surely Morton's doesn't have a "discriminate against cancer patients" policy and this Catrina lady just went all stupid on him. It is totally understandable that they may have a dress code which includes "no hats," but a professional in a customer service industry should have enough common sense to know when policies need to be overridden. The fact that she doesn't shows that she needs to find a career where common sense isn't required. -
Is spelling and punctuation a thing of the past?
LagerHead replied to Westwindmike's topic in General Chat
"Is spelling and punctuation a thing of the past?" It should read, "Are spelling and punctuation things of the past?" Sorry, couldn't resist given the title and content of the thread. :slapfight: -
Show me a situation where someone preventing someone else from driving drunk lost everything. Hell, lost ANYTHING. Just one. The truth is, the litigious society we all fear is more a product of TV news sensationalism than reality. Sound familiar? It should if you're a gun owner.

I'm sorry, but the folks that don't get involved are part of the problem in this country. When you see a wrong it my OPINION that you have a duty to get involved. Would you be able to live with yourself if you knew you had the opportunity to stop her and didn't and she went on to kill someone you knew, or God forbid, someone you loved? I know I wouldn't. I will choose the hard right over the easy wrong in this case. Would I have blocked her in? You bet your ass. And I would have taken her keys. Maybe I would have gotten charged with assault but given the circumstances I don't believe there is a jury that would have convicted me.

Bored? Fill out this form for fun!
LagerHead replied to Jonnin's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I have a cousin who was shot in the face by his "best friend," dragged behind his truck, and burned. He was not killed by gun violence. He was killed by a sick and twisted motherfucker who should have been shot by police years earlier when he took his parents hostage. -

Constitutional Amendment Convention Gaining Momentum
LagerHead replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
We're way past the need for desperate measures. We're $17 trillion in debt, our rights are being hacked away faster than the Amazon rain forest, and all of our politicians are bought and paid for. I don't know if we could accidentally do more damage than our "representatives" do intentionally on a daily basis. The fact that the Daily Kommies objects is all the proof you need that it's a good idea. Sounds like a quote from every anti-gun organization on the planet talking about carry permits. The facts is there are plenty of things that could go right as well. -

TGO Upper Receiver Vise Blocks
LagerHead replied to mikegideon's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
No need to put that kind of torque on it. Dolomite gave me the following advice, and it worked beautifully: "When tightening the barrel nut go hand tight then use the wrench to line the holes up for the gas tube. Even if it is only a little bit that is plenty. And if you need to you can muscle it if it is too far away. I would add a little grease to the threads as well."
