  1.   There is a very good reason for it, too. Politicians don't want to set a precedent about removing politicians from office for being a crook. After all, they might hold that office someday, and they don't want it to be too easy for them to be removed for being a crook. All they can do is pay it lip service when election time comes. But when it's time for the rubber to meet the road, all their empty platitudes means diddly squat.
  2. I knew when Haslam was running for governor that he wasn't nearly as pro-gun as he tried to paint himself. This really is not much of a surprise. The only real surprise is that he got caught.
  3. I can't even imagine how hot this stuff is. I think the hottest stuff I have ever tried is Dave's Insanity, which comes in at about 500,000 - 750,000 Scoville units, and it is damn hot, but still pretty tasty. This stuff is more than 10 times that hot. WOW!
  4.   I am seriously considering picking some up. I will PM you if I do.
  5.   Yea, well they are still posted, so I still won't be going. Not that I go to big box stores anyway. I have never seen a product in there that I would save money on.
  6. I once purchased the extended protection plan for my motorcycle. It cost $1,400 and covered all maintenance (all fluid changes, etc.), gave a 10% discount on anything in their store, put me ahead of others when I brought my bike in, did away with the charge to remove and remount the tires when changing them, eliminated the tire change fee completely, and extended the warranty on the bike for an additional two years.    I ended up putting close to $3,000 worth of maintenance into that $1,400 plan, so it was a solid deal for me. In fact, the month before it expired the dealer did close to $600 worth of electrical work, free of charge.   But to be clear, the finance folks push these plans because they are clear money makers for them. They almost never pay out the full amount of the purchase. But that's how all insurance works. They wouldn't make money if they did. So if peace of mind is worth a few bills to you, don't let anybody talk you out of it. Of all the important things in life, money is moving rapidly down the list the older I get. I'll pay a bit of a premium to not have to spend my time performing maintenance on my car and use the time to go camping, etc. It's a no brainer to me.
  7. As indicated above, there's really not much drama involved. I have flown several times with my pistol and the most extra I have had done was at Denver, where the TSA actually took me an my bag to an X-Ray area to give it a quick once over. Took about 5 minutes.
  8. It sounds like, despite the circumstances under which you came into this money, it could be classified as "fun money." Given that, I would get something along the lines of...
  9. Free Microsoft Books? Can I get some free anthrax too?
  10. I think one important question was missing?   "If you answered 'yes' to all or the majority of the previous questions, is it because you're a bald faced liar and will kiss anyone's ass simply to get their vote?"   If they answered 'no,' then you know the answer is 'yes.'
  11.   If I only had a dollar for every time someone had shown me a way to spend money, I'd have a lot more dollars.
  12.   Ain't this the truth? Most of the stuff you get pulled over for is pretty stupid anyway, law or not. Might as well kiss a little behind for five minutes to save a couple hundred bucks.
  13.   Which shows they're not COMPLETELY  stupid.
  14.   Yep. And they have Two Hearted Ale on tap.
  15.     How else are they going to serve warrants against dangerous criminals like pot smokers and those with unpaid parking tickets?
  16. But a poor understanding of sarcasm.  :yuck:
  17. I was familiar with triangulation because I used to do it in the Army. But I didn't know they had adapted it to WIFI. So yea, I guess it could easily be used to track a particular signal via WIFI.
  18.     How do they track you using WIFI? WIFI doesn't include GPS capabilities, and it certainly doesn't include all of your personally identifiable information. So how do they know that a particular MAC address belongs to you? Sounds like bunk to me.
  19.   I guess the Sportster wasn't bad enough. They want to corner the market.
  20. Not East TN, but I am going (back) to Hot Springs, NC and Linville Falls over the 4th of July weekend.
  21. No hard feelings I hope. Though we both feel strongly about our position, I didn't type anything I wouldn't say to you if you were here, and I feel you did the same in return. I'll still buy you a beer someday, but not if it's overpriced.
  22. And I'll leave you with this: You don't get to unilaterally decide what is fair, especially when you aren't involved in the transaction. Neither of the definitions you provided even play into the discussion we are having because: A: Nobody is being dishonest or unfair. The price is clearly stated and agreed upon by both the seller and the buyer. Nothing dishonest or unfair there even if you don't like it and especially if you aren't part of the transaction. B: Nobody is being used unfairly. Nobody has to buy anything from anyone in this country, except health insurance. So as far as ammo goes, there is no way the definition of "exploit" fits here. The market has the choice to not buy ammo at the inflated prices. If that happens, supply will stabilize and so will prices. As long as demand remains higher than supply, prices will stay up. That's how the market works. Always has, always will. I won't even respond to the Embody comparison. The comparison is beneath you and the response I would give would be beneath me.
