  1. My wife can't see 3D, so we will be going to the "regular" one. But we will be going.
  2. You are absolutely correct. Cops are people too. There are good and bad, but just like in the media, "if it bleeds at leads." However, if a cop is a dick, he often ruins lives, not just days. We are actually right to shine light on the abuses of not only cops, but every public official who has the power to similarly ruin lives and does so. In general, I believe most cops are just like me; they just want to do their job and go home to their families who love and depend on them. As for the others, I have no more pity when they get busted than I do any other run of the mill thug. With all that being said, thanks for your service. You do a job I would not do; one that is completely necessary to the fabric of our society. I know it's thankless 99% of the time, unless someone catches it on film or makes a big deal out of it like in this story.
  3. And you can't get approved without taking the required training course. Kind of a catch-22, ain't it?
  4. That's a real shame. They seem like such a likable and reasonable bunch, too.
  5. Well my Toyota's safe, I guess. Apparently people only steal trucks they are going to need to fix soon.
  6. I just looked up the Thermos press. Very nice! They are both very smooth and clean, for sure. The Aeropress only makes a cup at a time, so that may be a consideration. However, it takes only about 30 seconds to make a cup once your water is at temp, so if you're not the type to be in a hurry for a cup, that may not be an issue for you. Water temp is critical for making an outstanding cup of coffee with both of these methods. Ah, the good ole coffee bong! I still have one of these, albeit the plastic version from Bodum. I loved using it at work because people would always be like, "What the heck is that thing?"
  7.   That's how I roll. Definitely is the easiest way to get good coffee.      I've had coffee from Chemex or similar setups. It was outstanding! The only thing, in my opinion, that comes close is the AeroPress and a temperature controlled water heater. In fact, I'd have to do a side by side comparison to determine which is better.      I view coffee in much the same way I view guns, motorcycles, and beer. It really doesn't matter what you drink as long as you like it and it works for you.
  8.   It wasn't that long ago that Colorado was pretty solid too. I remember envying Colorado's gun laws. They can carry on campus. They can open carry without a permit. And until very recently, there were no mag limits, etc. I'm sure plenty of folks in Colorado felt it would never happen there.    My only point is, don't assume it won't happen to you and go to sleep at the wheel. The anti-gunners don't know the meaning of the word "rest."
  9.   You should care what happens in those states, because when they have passed enough laws in those states to make them basically unlivable, those same jackasses move to other states and then start the whole cycle again and then are surprised when they get the same results. This is what happened to Washington and Colorado for example. When they find out that Tennessee isn't such a bad place to live, you think they won't be coming here?      Tell that to New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Washington, and Colorado.
  10.   No doubt in my mind that what you say is accurate, but they have to appear to be super parents to get that payday. Hence the tie with Brown's face on it on the father and the T shirt with his face on it on the mother.
  11. There have been restaurants that have both posted signs welcoming gun owners and offering discounts, but I haven't heard of one that offered 20%. One in Louisiana offers a 10% discount.   http://blogs.findlaw.com/free_enterprise/2014/09/la-restaurant-offers-10-discount-for-gun-toters.html
  12. I'm somewhat amazed how these parents who couldn't be bothered to raise or discipline their children all of a sudden become super parents immediately following the untimely death of the same children. If they had put about 1/4 the effort into raising their child as they put into all the publicity and T shirts and banners, etc. after his death, he would probably be around today. Or at least there is that possibility.

    Lights.

What a generous offer, Sam. But like you, Bonnie (my wife) has family that lives and goes to the Philippines, so we're set. Thanks for the awesome offer, though.    For those that haven't had Filipino food, you're missing out!

    Lights.

I might even be able to get my wife to whip up some pancit to go with it. Probably not, but maybe.
  15. I've hunted a couple times. Even helped dress a deer. So far haven't gotten to fire at anything not made out of paper or cardboard. Still waiting for my chance.
  16. My dad lives in Clarksville. Guess I better get up there and treat him to a range visit.
  17. I avoid Wal Mart like a hooker with crabs. I can't think of a single thing I wouldn't gladly pay more for elsewhere.
  18. I'd vote for my neighbor's cat before I voted for Haslam.
  19.   Mine's in bottles, but yea. It's so much more satisfying that way, too.
  20. http://www.cookingcomically.com/?page_id=33   You're welcome.
  21. I truly can't understand people who tell others who are in immeasurable pain that ending that pain is immoral. Disagreeing with their choice is one thing, but condemning it...meh, I'm just not nearly smart enough nor have I been through anything like that. But hey, the great thing about freedom is it allows us to do things that other people find deplorable.
  22. We're moving to Idaho in about 5 years. Average high in July and August is around 86 degrees. And I won't miss the humidity either. And before you say it, I LOVE the snow. But I will miss Tennessee. Just not the sorry weather.
  23. Go see an allergist. Best thing I ever did. They had me feeling about 80% better within about three days and then I took allergy shots for a year and a half and now I don't take anything. I have some very minor congestion pretty regularly and sneeze a few times a month now. They also have allergy drops now, which means you don't have to make the weekly trips to get the shots. Trust me, if they can treat what you have, it beats drugging yourself for the rest of your life, hands down.
  24.   It would be funny, except now these girls will grow up believing they should get equal pay for unequal work. Women are paid less, in general, only when you don't compare apples to apples. Women who have had the same number of uninterrupted years in the work force as a man in the same position not only make the same amount, they often make more. But the victim-creating feminists will never acknowledge that. They only want to compare women of the same age as men. Women of the same age often have taken time off to raise children. Women tend to value family higher than careers, on the average.    This kind of B.S. infuriates me, and not because children said a "dirty" word in a video. That could have been funny. But telling a child at that age that the world is against them is just pathetic.
