  1. I have a problem with this whole line of thinking. While I clearly see the point, the problem is imposing restrictions to protest the imposing of restrictions. I think the best approach we can take is speak with our wallets. It's true what they say: "Money talks." When enough anti-gun businesses see that they are losing customers because of their anti-gun stance, they will change it or be replaced by someone else, who will either change it or be replaced by someone else who will...well you get the point. There are approximately 250,000 HCP holders in TN. We do have a voice. And it's large enough to be heard very clearly if we stick to our guns, if you'll pardon the pun.
  2. Great info and well spelled out.
  3. HexHead, you should apologize for this statement. I mean, what did all the douchebags of the world do to be compared to our governor? If I was a douchebag, I'd be offended.
  4. Exactly FiddleDog. Just don't patronize establishments that don't respect your 2nd Amendment rights and discriminate against you for exercising them. My humble advice would be twofold. First, don't go in those restaurants carrying. This issue is political and from a PR perspective, we as permit holders and carriers need to maintain our image as among the most law-abiding citizens in the nation. Second, when you see one of these signs and turn away at the door, make sure you call and let the owner/manager know. And let them know that you went to the competition who does respect us. When they receive dozens or more calls every week about lost business, perhaps they will come around.
  5. I didn't notice the lack of the second belt loop. Mine has it, so it's not an issue. The pic was just one that I found that looked like it.
  6. Thanks for the welcomes guys. And Phantom, you definitely can't talk about Bock without talking about Shiner. Good stuff.
  7. Hey Speak. I also have an XD, but the .40 service with the 4" barrel. I use a leather belt holster like the one pictured below. It was around $20 at Guns and Leather and does a good job of concealing when wearing a baggy shirt. And for $20, if I didn't like it, no biggie. I also have a paddle holster and the XD gear holster, but I think I like the leather one the best, especially when driving.

    S&W Sigma .40VE

Did you have any jams/double feeds? I used to have one and that was what plagued me. I personally like the heavy trigger pull on a gun without a safety, though I think my XD 40's is a bit more pleasant. Other than the jams, I liked the feel ok and it seemed to site well for me.

    Rental Ranges

Yet another vote for Guns and Leather. Two nice ranges (one regular and another computerized range) and I'm always treated with respect when I'm in there. I bought my XD 40 there and they gave me a fair trade for my Sigma.
  10. Thanks for the welcome, Suntzu. Great screen name and quote in your sig.
  11. Hello to everyone. My name is Robert. I have lived in Pegram since 2005. For those of you that don't know, Pegram is about 15 west of Nashville, right off I-40. I moved 32 times before Pegram, so "where are you from?" is a really tough question. But to give you an idea, I was born in Murray, UT (suburb of Salt Lake City), but move #1 was only a month or two behind that. Since then I have lived in Germany, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Colorado, South Carolina, California, Texas, Arizona, Washington, Korea, and Florida. As you probably have guessed, I am a military brat, and a veteran myself. I am at least the third generation male on both sides of my family to be in the Army. We are also at 3 generations and counting for the females (yep, Grandma was in the Army!) I am also married to a second generation Air Force vet. Both my wife and I own guns. She has a Springfield XD 9 that I liked so much, that I traded my Smith and Wesson Sigma 40 for a Springfield XD 40. I also have a S&W .357 Magnum and a Savage 30.06. That's the extent of our collection thus far. I am also an NRA member, and I will argue with any left winger on the issue of gun control anytime, anywhere. My wife, Bonnie, and I have been married almost 16 years and have two children: Holli, age 15 and Nathan, 10. Nathan and I share a passion for playing drums, and Holli plays the guitar. As my avatar suggests, I am also a big fan of beer, with Guinness Extra Stout being one of my favorites. I'll also talk about beer until you get sick of hearing about it, so don't get me started. Well, that's the short intro. I tend to get long winded, so don't ask me anything you don't want a complete answer on. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone here and keeping up with the issues related to our 2nd Amendment rights. Cheers. Robert
