It was great meeting and talking to everyone there last night. I'm not sure how, with nearly 30 guns in one room, we managed to get through the night without shootin' the place up, but we did it. Hopefully I'll be able to make the shoot this weekend and meet a few more of you.

Good point. This could be misconstrued, but I meant that most people here are not complete newbies with guns. That being the case, the test is common sense for the most part. The other parts are covered in the class, and there is nothing difficult. But a very valid point indeed.

I know I'm repeating what others have said, but it is important. GET PROPER GEAR. I ride in no less than a jacket, full face helmet, and gloves year round. I held my breath and still passed. You only need to worry if you have keep a sticky note on your gun that reads "this end toward enemy." Otherwise, worry less than your driver's test. Heck, in my class we had a quiz before the test. It sounded suspiciously like the test.

I went to the USMC Summer Mountain Leader's Course with a bunch of fine Marines from Camp P, including my climbing buddy. Being in the Army they of course tried to give me a hard time. But they were outmatched. There was 6 of us and only about 1.5 battalions of Marines. Aaaah, good times. Gooooood times.

Hey JustAGuy, sorry you will miss it. Thanks for your service. I did the Korea thing twice myself. I was in Camp Hovey and Camp Essayons (now closed, about 1.5 miles East of Camp Red Cloud). Tell ya what, I'll have an extra plate of bulgogi in your honor (if they serve it, which I doubt).

Along the lines of this thread, I can't seem to find a thread that has a list of restaurants that post. I would like to suggest a sticky thread, like the ones announcing July 14th get-togethers, that list anti-gun restaurants. In my view it would also include, if available, manager's name, phone number, e-mail address, etc. so we can contact them en masse and let them know they are losing business.

Thanks for the link Jack. Copperud states much better than most of us can that which we already knew to be true. I will definitely add that page to my favorites and invite the anti-gun crowd to refute his interpretation.
