  1. I don't think that offended anybody. Least of all me. I'm as patriotic as anyone on here.
  2. Whew. Made it out just in time. Welcome to the gang.
  3. Welcome Bubba. Just remember: front towards enemy.
  4. Laughed my butt off at that one. Not literally. I'm glad I wasn't drinking something at the time though.
  5. Very nice site. Love the layout. Kinda has a widescreen feel to it. And of course it has pimptastic rifles on it, so what's not to like?
  6. Sure does. If you're getting tan grips, I say forget it. Black & Tan isn't just a great beer name.
  7. The OP was simply asking about the ancestry of folks on here, not which hyphenated-Americans we are. I think 99% of us here consider ourselves 100% American. But our ancestors, and where they came from have shaped who we are to some extent. Some more than others. I do like the poem by John Wayne though. I see his point clearly. I'm not a Polish-American or an Italian-American or a Welsh-American. When I served in the Army, there was only one flag I saluted, and that's the Stars & Stripes. But that doesn't mean I am going to forget about where my ancestors came from, because that means I forget what it means to be American. My ancestors came here from various countries because they felt that America was going to be a better place to raise their families, to live out their dreams, or maybe just to get away from some really crappy situation or standard of living. And they found it here. In the land of the free and the home of the brave. God bless America!
  8. Looks like I'll be there too. A couple of my geek friends are also coming, so along with the good weather forecast, should be a great match.
  9. Excellent observations guys. I personally would have no problems firing it.
  10. I regularly carry an XD9sc too. Not really any problems concealing it, even OWB. I regularly wear just a big T shirt. It does print some, but once you get over the worry that someone may notice, which they don't, it's not a big factor. And if you regularly wear a button up shirt untucked, it's even less of an issue. Heck, I carry my XDm40 and nobody has ever seemed to notice. If I can hide that thing, the XDsc is nothing. By the way, both are great guns. I've never had a malfunction out of my XD9sc, XD40 4", or XDm40, with every kind of ammo you can think of: aluminum, brass, steel, cheap, expensive, you name it.
  11. That's what he meant by "began his investigation." Haha.
  12. It does come in different flavors. The way my wife's family makes it has more meat and less vegetables though. I like them and spring rolls, but I'll take the lumpia first.
  13. My wife was made in the Philippines too. Born on Clark AFB to an American dad and Filipino mom. Loves me some Filipino food! Ponsit and lumpia, anyone? I'm part Polish, Italian, Welsh.
  14. Perspective. It's all about perspective. Kinda makes that squeaky old mattress with the springs poking through look pretty good, doesn't it?
  15. I guess I'm a Tennessean. Granted I'm a transplant, but I have to go with the scenario that requires a reload. The only problem I have is this: where is the part about beating his lifeless body with the empty gun? Of course that might mar the finish a bit, so I guess you could find a rock.
  16. Welcome Jay. If you're looking for indoor ranges, Guns and Leather in Greenbrier (2216 Highway 41 South) and On Target in Murfreesboro (915 North Thompson Lane) are both good bets from Lebanon. The closest decent outdoor range that I know of is Owl Hollow (couldn't find address, but directions are in this thread: directions to Owl Hollow). Hopefully we'll see you out and about.
  17. Agreed, Karl. That sucks too, because you'd be hard pressed to find a gun that I want more right now. Oh well, guess I better keep looking at those Kimbers.
  18. Yea, but the Mini 30 is a better looking gun. That should count for something, right?
  19. Amazing how many parallels you find here. I'm also on my third XD (technically, two XD's and an XDm). I still have an XD9sc and XDm in .40. I got into XD's after getting rid of my Sigma, which as Alpha so aptly put it, doesn't hold a candle to the XD. In all fairness, it's a couple hundred dollars cheaper, so what do you expect? OhShoot, what type of holster is in your pic? I have been thinking about IWB, and that looks like a nice one.
  20. Definitely give it a shot. First timers get to shoot for $5, so it's a small investment to see if you like it. You will definitely see some folks shoot that will humble you, but if you consider it a competition more with yourself, you'll find you do all right. Hopefully I will be at the Dickson match on Saturday. Hope to see a few of you folks there.
  21. Great looking gun. I like black & tan too. Especially when in a room temperature mug!
  22. I went to the DMV AFTER I got printed, so I'm guessing you didn't need it.
  23. Awww. Ain't it cute how he uses complete sentences? Good for you. Oh, and welcome to the forum, Jared.
