  1. Thanks 10mm. That makes me feel a little better. I've done a little more reading, with the vast majority of reviews being very positive. It sounds to me like this could be the lever action rifle that gets people back into shooting lever action rifles.
  2. Thanks, I'll look at the website. This is not my end of the world gun, so I may just have to suck up the lack of ammo if I decide to go this direction.
  3. So the wife says she wants a lever action rifle. I've been thinking about it too, and this one caught my eye. Has anyone had any experience with these rifles, whether in .308 or the other calibers they offer? I really like the looks, but as we all know, that only gets you so far. The wife will be using it mainly for target shooting, at the range. I will want a scope and will take it hunting, whatever I end up with. Thanks in advance.
  4. Guns & Leather does, but they are hit and miss on their selection (due to volume of business). I'm sure others do, but I frequent G&L mainly. I bought one of mine there and one at Hero Gear, which is also cool if you're in the neighborhood.
  5. Got mine on Blue Ray yesterday and watched in the man cave. Awesomeness.
  6. Try a Don Hume leather IWB. They're relatively inexpensive (I got mine for around $26-27) and good quality for the money. They will give you an idea if you like that style, etc.
  7. Amen. Everybody knows the only proper way to drink a proper ale is out of a pint glass. What are they going to do? Serve your bitter in a plastic Solo cup?
  8. One of the funniest quotes from the movie Snatch is when Avi gets to England and the following dialogue ensues (Taken from memory, so forgive me if it's not 100%) Avi: Sit down and shut up you big bald ****. Now I don't like leaving my country for anything less than warm, sandy beaches, and cocktails with little umbrellas. Doug The Head: Avi, we've got sandy beaches. Avi: So? Who the **** wants to see 'em? Wow. Why does that sound so familiar? Oh yea, because it's happening here too. We're just a few years behind in this trend. Hey, we're glad to have you. And glad that you came to your senses sooner rather than later. Again, why does this sound familiar?
  9. You're thinking of haggis. Hummus is pureed chick peas with various spices, usually tahini. You dip your pita bread into it as an appetizer. Delicious.
  10. Does he do that any more? I thought he spent 4 hours every night talking about how he was "Banned In Britain."
  11. Here's one if you're into more international fare: Anatolia Turkish Restaurant on White Bridge. It's kind of hidden in a weird place, behind Wendy's and Calhoun's in the same strip mall as The Office Depot. The food is always good, especially the mixed grill platter and chicken stew. And they have some pretty awesome baklava for dessert. Oh and the hummus is really good, too.
  12. Darn your friend and his perspective! How dare he interrupt a perfectly good session of whining. Oh well, I guess that's what friends are for.
  13. Very nice gun. Sufficiently evil looking.

    Ive got $500

Used XD/XDm. Or start that AR build.
  15. David, you are one heck of a photographer. I have always been jealous of you folks that have that eye. Very nice pics.
  16. It was a good class. Todd and Dustin cover the various carry options for men and women, and advantages/disadvantages of each. Not to mention they cover real life type scenarios such as having to shoot while protecting loved ones (one handed shooting).
  17. Very funny stuff. I've seen Top Gun more times than I care to count, and that's the first time I noticed that when they say "You can be my wingman any time..." Tom Cruise doesn't have on any sunglasses. Then when they start to pick him up, he still doesn't, then they cut to a different angle, he does. Curious!
  18. I was kinda thinking the same thing. On another note, there is a government subsidized program I could get behind! But what I don't understand is this: How is it that all those guns are taken out in public on the same day without mass murders occurring nationwide? It just doesn't make sense. I mean, the media has told me it will undoubtedly happen, so what's up?
  19. I guess we're not all heartless bastards after all. I will pray for their safe return.
  20. I believe it will. I have it on my sub compact XD9. Fits perfectly.
  21. Most of us use several holsters depending on the situation. I have a Don Hume belt slide holster, a Don Hume IWB, and a couple of OWB paddle holsters for my guns. My advice would be to start out with the less expensive ones to get an idea of which style works best for you, then get a really nice one, or two.
  22. If she didn't before, she does now.
  23. Look out! He's got a gun! Oh the humanity. Good luck with that walk.
