  1. I'll second that. Your trigger finger is the safety.
  2. Do they make T Shirts with the "Gun Free Zone" logo on it? That way I won't have to worry that someone else may forget to make wherever I am a gun free zone. I'll be a walking gun free zone. Yea!
  3. I really like Damon's explanations of the issues raised by Judge Nepalitano. And I totally agree with everything he said. Great interview. Thanks for posting.
  4. He isn't doing so hot! F in almost every category.
  5. If it helps, I consider Nashville starting at exit 204 on I-40 (White Bridge Rd, Briley Pkwy) although technically it stretches out to exit Bellevue. Bellevue is exit 196, Pegram is exit 192, Kingston Springs is exit 188, Fairview is exit 182, and Dickson is exit 172. A couple of the other suggestions are scattered about through those exits. So if it helps, it may give you an idea where to start looking if you want to live closer to work, or closer to Nashville.
  6. Alpha, I'm truly sorry to hear about your troubles dealing with the government. It sucks. Scott, good luck on your interview. Keep us posted.
  7. Exactly what I was going to say. Chop the hell out of an inexpensive gun, not a piece of history.

    My Sig 556

Very, very nice. I like the Sigs, but I just can't justify the expense. Very cool setup.
  9. I was going to point that out too. I just got it a couple of weeks ago (the LAPG version) free with an order of a pair of 5.11 khakis. Also got a free 5.11 belt. All for $34.99 + tax/shipping. Not too shabby. I have taken it the range a couple of times, and it seems to be just what the doctor ordered. I like the pockets on the outside for mags, earplugs, etc. Plenty of room inside for ammo and assorted gear.
  10. That is sad news. Phil was definitely entertaining. Can't say I'm really surprised though. He needed to quit smoking a long time ago. RIP Phil.
  11. Good catch. I sit corrected.
  12. Few things in life are better than someone who can laugh at themselves. Nicely done. It was funny, but it can't possibly be real. I really think there was someone having fun at the expense of the others on the board. And they did a great job at it.
  13. Agreed. I'm hoping Alpha7 was joking. Some people work the night shift too. At times when I have done so, I sometimes left work hungry. I don't need to be harassed just because I want a 7 layer burrito at 2AM. I mean a man's gotta eat!
  14. The truth is, he was most likely a douche bag way before he got the badge. But no doubt the badge made it worse. Great idea. I've only had one real negative experience with cops, and I wish I had done that at the time. Nashville Metro motorcycle copy with a real piss poor attitude and chip on his shoulder like you wouldn't believe. In hindsight, I wish I had taken the ticket he was threatening me with and told him to go... you know, do impossible things to himself. Yea, but will it be AFTER he cracks some poor guy's skull? Unfortunately, the negative experiences are the ones that stand out the most to a lot of people, and this dirtbag is giving the whole department a bad name. Yep. One of the biggest ass hats I have ever met was an E7 in the Army. But most of the folks I knew were great folks. I don't judge the whole Army by that one guy.
  15. I'll go with that. When they are made, they don't know they're going to be drive up or walk up, so they use the same process for both.
  16. My friend had this same thing happen on the same rifle and he took out the trigger to get it out. Shouldn't be a problem taking out the round. If it hasn't gone off yet, it probably won't. I certainly wouldn't start drilling it or anything.
  17. Not to mention that some people are VERY picky about how their gun is cleaned, with what, etc.

    Good cops?!

I've been pulled over a bunch of times because I was born with a birth defect that causes lead to gather in my right foot. Go figure. Most of the time the cops/troopers/deputies are cool, even the ones that gave me tickets. I've never had one I didn't deserve. I don't fault all of them for the few @$$hats that I've run into, just like they generally don't do that to me. It's a thankless job. They're underpaid (just like our military, fire, etc that put their lives on the line for us daily) and under-appreciated. I try to not inflict any more grief on them than they do on me.
  19. Very nice pics, Mark. Too bad you had to go to France to get some of 'em though.
