  1. Welcome Marco. I got to spend a little time in Italy when I was a kid. Loved it. Can't wait to get back.
  2. Thanks for preachin' the truth. That thread was full of it. Truth, that is.
  3. For the light, I have the TLR 3 on the same gun. It's about the same price (I paid $75) and is very bright. For the holster, I wear the Don Hume - for $26 can't be beat.
  4. It will get plenty of salutes. Probably most Americans would support this. The problem is, our politicians are no longer representing us. If they were, health care would have been dead long ago. Along with cap-and-rob, and myriad other crap bills. So while tens of millions of people would support this, the couple hundred that would have to vote to enact it, wouldn't. How's that for a representative republic?
  5. That's a fine picture and all. But how's about a shot under the hood? Sheesh.
  6. Why? The whole state isn't like that. Every place has bad apples.
  7. Come on. Obvious photochop job. I thought that was going to be our little secret. That's it, I'm boycotting your store. Until the next time I need something, that is. Or want something. Whatever. I once shot a gnat with my compound bow, with a 285lbs pull on it, at 637 yards (it's an odd number, that's how you know it's true), but it kept flying. I had to hit it with two more arrows and then shoot it with my .50BMG before I took that sucker down. Then I had it stuffed and mounted. Best trophy I ever got. That's how you know everything I typed above is true. My mouth doesn't move when I type.
  8. I may be wrong, but aren't state parks also legal in TN? So I think either one should be OK.
  9. I open carried for the first time this weekend also. I had been running around town with my jacket on and was burning up in all the stores. So when I hit the grocery store, I ditched the jacket. Nobody noticed. At least not that I could tell. The quicker draw is only marginal. At CIS' Advanced Concealed Carry class they timed us. From the buzzer on the shot timer to 3 shots placed in critical areas, including proper draw, my time was something like 1.7 seconds. I'm an advocate of carry. Open or concealed is your choice.
  10. Bingo. Gripping the gun by the grip/handle depresses the grip safety. About the only way I could think of that you wouldn't depress the grip safety is if you held it by the barrel. Doing that feels very unnatural though, and can be dangerous to your health.
  11. I've been once. That was enough for me. If I shoot outdoors, it's Owl Hollow (Or I guess it's Charlie Heffner now) or nothing.
  12. I'll betcha Kwikie has a subscription to that channel.
  13. If by favorable you mean they're going to make it illegal to do searches on permit holders that you can't do on everybody else, then I'm all for it.
  14. Don't like 40 and 43, but the rest are OK. Most won't pass either way though.
  15. The only way to really improve on that: 2 XD subcompacts. Or maybe some Trijicon night sights on it.
  16. Unless you went to Owl Hollow and forgot they're closed the first full weekend of every month. What a bummer! Glad you guys had fun, though. And what a great gun to start with.

    Funny video

I like when she came back and got her reflection. Priceless.
  18. Well thought out either way. I don't really care one way or the other either. People grieve differently, so if it helps them recover from the loss of a loved one, who am I to say don't do it? Most of us have lost someone we care about. Some of us tell jokes, or funny and even embarrassing stories about when they were alive. Some of us stop talking about them totally, because the memories make it worse. Whatever works best for you is the best way to handle it.
  19. Well, I've got her almost decked out like I want. Got the Magpul stock, Blackhawk single point sling, Sig mini red dot, couple of Magpul PMags, and Beretta forward grip. In the words of Tallahassee, "That'll do pig."
  20. I'm definitely in. I'm no fan of Cooper either.
  21. TT, don't worry too much about staying put while drawing. I carry every day in a Don Hume $26 IWB holster. It is very comfy, rides very low, and stays put while drawing. If I'm not mistaken the MTAC will have loops to wrap around your belt, making it even more secure. Just get one that rides really low and you'll never look back. My $26 holster is the reason I no longer carry OWB, except on rare occasions.
  22. I use the Don Hume too. I carry both the XD9SC and XDM40 in the same Don Hume holster. Both are perfectly comfortable. I have even played my drums while wearing the XDM. No problemo. I've also heard great things about the Com Tec. I just haven't found one locally.
  23. Not bad for a crusty old fart.
