Funny, I said about 4.0 F words when I heard the health care bill passed.

Funny. He describes his guns much like I do. It has thing thing here. A little curve. Detail. Yea.

It's a great choice if you can't find an XD. Seriously, it's a great choice. I carry an XDm in .40, in waist band, similar size to the 22, with no problem. It does take a little getting used to, but soon you won't even know it's there.

Your comparison still doesn't work. If I T-bone you in my car, my insurance pays for the damage to your car. If I give you TB, which you will almost definitely NOT be able to prove, your insurance pays, not mine. See? Your health is your responsibility, not mine. At least it wasn't. Now it is thanks to this B.S. bill. Oh, so the government. Thanks for clarifying.

"You have failed to maintain your weapon." Harry Brown Movie
LagerHead replied to a topic in General Chat
You must have HATE "Snatch" then. I'm going to see it. I like Micheal Caine and movies about revenge. Great combination. -
David, do yourself a favor and go to Vanderbilt ASAP (Asthma Sinus and Allergy Program). I suffered - and I do mean suffered? - for 14 years before finally going to ASAP. Within less than two weeks they had my symptoms under control and now, 5 years later, I don't take any kind of allergy medicine and I can breathe easy. They did such a good job that during part of my treatment my insurance lapsed due to changing jobs, and I paid for my treatment out of pocket for several months. It was worth every penny. And now that allergy drops are an option - not sure if ASAP does them, though - that just makes it all the more crazy to suffer with allergies. Seriously, going to ASAP was one of the few things that was quite literally life changing. P.S. I do not work for, nor am I or have I ever been in any way associated with Vanderbilt. They just did awesome work, so they get my recommendation.

You sir, are the man. Great pics.

Not only that, if I run a red light and T-bone your car, it affects you, not just me. If I don't carry health insurance and get cancer, and die, just how exactly are you affected? You're not. So there's a huge difference and that is why car insurance is mandated. And if you read the rules for you insurance and choose the right one, under the current system you can't be denied. Not all insurance is created equal, and it is your responsibility to know the rights and limitations under each one. Only if you can provide evidence of that. I think that's just a wild guess thrown out there with nothing to back it up. Why not? Because it is the government's job to "provide for the common defense[.]" The government should only be concerned with things the private sector can't, won't, or shouldn't do. And military definitely falls under "shouldn't." But if they did, you can bet your ass they would do it cheaper and more efficiently. I've lived in Europe too. I'll take our system any day of the week, and twice on Sunday, thanks.

Aside from the fact that it is socialist, Obama sucks, and we're all going to hell: The claim that something that costs $940 billion in extra spending is somehow going to lower the national deficit and my personal taxes at the same time is insane. And they have to do creative accounting, like keeping the "doctor fix" separate, just shows how deceitful they had to be to get the CBO to give this a low enough score for some to vote for it. Not only that, when was the last time the government ever ran a project of anywhere near this size at anywhere near at or under budget? Or ran it more efficiently or at a lower cost than the private sector? Or when was the last time that creating huge bureaucracies made anything easier to get? The list of questions goes on, and the answer is always, "Never." In addition, they gave employers the option of continuing to pay for your insurance, at an average cost of over $20,000/year or paying a $750/year fine for not providing it. So in a company of 1,000 employees, they can save around $19,250,000/year by not providing you insurance. So what do you imagine will happen when companies start ditching their insurance plans left and right? The insurance companies will tank, and the "public option," which is not in this bill, will have to be added back in. And yet the government claims there is no plan to take over health care in this country. Finally, if you're going to say "give me some hardcore numbers" you probably shouldn't follow that up with "so this bill should lower my Insurance, and i hope it should lower that 20% payment to." Should and hope aren't exactly hardcore numbers, are they? And these points are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

They do. But in a seated position the barrel length can be an issue. I wear my XDM40 all day sometimes though, and I hardly even notice it's there.

Good deal. Awesome sig line, GGP2JZ.

Good artical talking about our next option
LagerHead replied to setsdw's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yea, but didn't she replace one of the 4? I believe it's still 5 to 4 in favor of the Constitution. -
But those numbers actually mean something. A Mercedes C300 means it's a C class Mercedes with a 3.0L engine. The first two digits in a Mercedes model indicates the engine size. Easy. With BMW, it's the last two, as they indicate the series with the first number. So a 740 is a 7 series with a 4.0L engine. Come on Glock, get with the program. So as long as you're aware of the patent history of Glock you're OK then. Great guns, but I don't like the model # thing either.

I'm in too. I think if David put up some kind of banner or something we could do the $10K thing without too much trouble, especially if some people gave more than $10 to "cover" some that can't give. I think it would be awesome to see TGO as one of the top donations in the state, and if we hit that kind of lofty goal, we'd surely be up there.

I don't think it is. You can buy a gun. You can give a gun to your wife. Or your son. Or your neighbor. You don't need the bill of sale on private transfers. So if he bought it and gave it to her, it's hers, not his.
-
It does, but why does B.A. have an envelope on his overalls? And what's up with the...um...metrosexual scarf and stuff? I'll bet Mr. T pities the fool who created that Lego character.
-
Yep. I'm in. Got to ride mine to work today, even though I'm hacking up a dang lung while doing it. It's just too pretty not to ride.

I have the same gun, in OD and stainless. I love it. I really don't think you'll be disappointed. And even give its size, it's my EDC, with my $26 Don Hume leather IWB holster. The only problem I've ever had with mine was failure to feed, but it was due to a dirty magazine. Other than that, it has eaten everything I have tried in it, from the cheap stuff, to the good stuff, factory and reloads. Good find. Probably true, but most people don't do any more with their carry guns than night sights and maybe a trigger job. And a light is nice to have if you use it as your nightstand gun too. Finally a conversion barrel might be in order if you plan on shooting it a lot, IDPA, etc. All of these are pretty readily available for both guns. I'd say you can't go wrong either way. Both are great guns.

HB3125/SB3012 new restaurant carry bill by Todd/Jackson
LagerHead replied to Fallguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
According to Judge Napolitano, the Supreme Court has ruled that you cannot infringe on Constitutional rights if you own a business that is considered a public accommodation. Therefore they can no sooner ban your right to bear arms than ban your right to free speech, since each has been ruled a "fundamental" liberty and is therefore "[,,,]protected from interference by the Constitution." So if I'm arrested, "Because FallGuy said so is NOT a legal defense?" Is that what you're saying. Sounds to me your representative is stalling in advance of his "no" vote. I'm not exactly sure what is so complex about this bill. Heck, if I can understand it, anyone can. Sheesh. -
They do get kinda "stuck" on a customer sometimes. I was just commenting to a friend about that the other day. But get their attention and they'll treat you right. And their prices are pretty good too.

XD coming home from repair and custom shop
LagerHead replied to Alpha7's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have a couple thousand rounds through my XD and XDm. The only failure to feed I have had was due to a dirty magazine. Cleaned it and it went away. Sorry to hear about your troubles. Four weeks is an eternity to be without your beloved XD. -
Any chance you'd post a picture of that safe with the door open? It seems like the deal to me. Any safe I don't have to lift is a great safe for me.

XS Big Dot 24/7 tritium sights
LagerHead replied to downtown's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Guns and Leather installs any sights you buy from them for free. Jeff usually gets them done while you wait. I'm not sure they have this brand though, so call before you make the drive. -
That's because on this planet things like that are what's known as "RETARDED!"
