  1.   If you are assigned to a Ranger Bn, you go to Ranger School as an E4, then come back and go to PLDC and get your SGT stripes pinned on, generally speaking. If you fail out of Ranger School, you go to a regular infantry unit.
  2.   Agreed. And when I asked for a quote I found it was about half as expensive as I thought. I would think they could do your trailer for $100 or less.
  3.   I'd be interested too. 1,000 rounds in a month is high for the average shooter, but not high enough to start seeing failures. Hell, 1,000 rounds in a day shouldn't be a big deal for a good handgun. I'm sure about half of us has done close to that at least once.
  4. I seriously thought that was a typo. I had no idea they had cameras that would shoot that fast. That is amazing.
  5.   Here is the simple math: You build a 10 foot wall, they will bring an 11 foot ladder. ;)
  6. That's actually in style nowadays. It's all retro and stuff.
  7. Wow, that is pretty cool. Looks like an effortless way to start a fire.
  8.   Brother, there's tons of class left in this country. The problem is, class never makes the front page. They'll run this story and never speak of it again, but when something bad happens they beat that horse to death and then some.
  9.   According to the guy in the link in the OP, the fan is to help discourage the formation of unwanted mold. Considering how easy it would be to set up a little fan in there with a small power supply, I'd say it's worth the added insurance, especially considering the price of a good slab of beef.
  10. So it's just a mini fridge with a fan? Doesn't sound too complicated. I've never tried dried, aged beef. I hear it's the bomb, but that isn't worth a whole lot. The proof is in the pudding.
  11. I would probably do some work for a brand new Gretcsh USA Custom set.
  12.   What is the company that offered her the job? In most IT contractor positions you are considered an employee of the contracting company so you are paid just as a normal employee. You can also do 1099 work, which basically means they pay you the entire amount (possibly minus SS/medicare deductions?) and you are responsible for paying your income taxes at the end of the year. My guess is it's the former from your description, in which case you are overcomplicating things. I have worked two contracts and they both worked in the manner of the former, where I was an employee. It's really not uncommon at all in the IT world.
  13. All right! Enough! Boy and girls, ladies and germs, THIS is how you cook a steak. Before reading this and applying the techniques here I firmly believed I knew how to cook a steak. I mean, they were pretty good and I never got any complaints except the occasional over/under cooked comments. Since I have started using this method I know how inadequate my former steaks were. I have even used this method on Select grade steaks and they came out fabulous. Trust me when I say that the extra prep time here makes it well worth the while. You can save your thanks for after you've made your steaks this way. And for those that say that the only way to cook a steak is to flip it once, I'll gladly take the Pepsi challenge any time.   http://mancavezen.com/99/cook-perfect-steak-dry-rub-ribeye-recipe/
  14. That anti-gun asshat, windbag, d-bag isn't getting a dime of mine. He jumped the shark about the last time I filled a diaper with something comparable to his work.
  15. This is why I hate judges. They think the universe revolves around them. What an asshat.
  16. This pilot is a master at flying IFR (I Follow Roads) ;)
  17.   Ah, so it is. At first glance it looked like one of those big rolls of TP from a public bathroom.
  18. My mom had a Mustang II. She loved that car. It would always start right up, barely turning over. At least it did until the day she went to trade it in. Then she couldn't get it to start to save her life. :D I've seen TP filters for oil, but this is the first time I've seen a TP air filter.
  19.   Ha, not at all. I used to do the same thing when I was a customer.
  20. It was a hardware issue. Not sure what all I'm supposed to say just yet, but we were on the phone the whole afternoon. It's 7:33PM CDT and we just hung up. Looks like everything is back to normal. I was without LTE and U-Verse, lots of Internet backbone stuff was down, etc. Basically anything that ran on IP in the Southeast and even a little beyond was affected.
  21. That's another amazing one, Omega, but that's not the one. The one I'm trying to find was definitely a while ago. I actually found it the last time someone asked about it, but I think possibly it has since been cannibalized by "the system." Mwa ha ha.
  22. A few years ago, maybe as many as five, but I think it was in the 2012 timeframe, there was a story in (I think) Memphis where a guy was defending the life of his family in his apartment against the lady's ex husband or boyfriend and was shot something like 16 times with a .40 caliber pistol and was able to make it to the ambulance under his own power. At least that's how I remember the story. Does anyone else remember this and perhaps remember enough of the details that they might be able to point me to it? Apparently I'm misremembering some important parts because a search on here and a Google search both left me empty handed. Thanks in advance to the Google Fu Xiao Lin master that helps me find it.
