  1. Ya in? Ya out? Ya in? Ya out? Ya in? Ya out? :-D I'll be there. I might be able to schmooze the wife into making some of her delicious potato salad, but I'll have to start now. I'll bring my Sig 556 as well as a couple of handguns. Probably throw the .22 rifle in there in case there are any kids or others that want to shoot it. If you bring ammo you're welcome to fire any of my guns.
  2. Hall FTW. Get out and vote, and make sure all your conservative friends do the same. Tell the libtards that voting was pushed back to Nov. 3.
  3. You might try Charlie Haffner's, 2795 Owl Hollow Road, Franklin, TN. It's not exactly private, but people there do a much better job of policing themselves and each other. Just about everybody there is a gun enthusiast, not just a gun owner. $5/visit or $40/year.
  4. AT&T is hiring retail wireless sales folks.
  5. He won't get a dime. An officer acting in good faith, even if wrong, misguided, misinformed, etc. cannot be held liable for stuff like this. IF the story is true and he did nothing wrong, he will get his weapons back, possibly a verbal apology for troubles, and that is about it.
  6. Maybe we should target one a week. If a week's worth of e-mails and calls bombarding them doesn't do it, we move on.
  7. On another forum I frequent (fjrforum.com) I noticed a link in a user's signature indicating that he was the proud father of a Marine, LCpl Jordan Haerter, which I followed. Please take the time to read this story of a brave, brave young Marine who saved the lives of all who fell under his guard that day. I know a smiley doesn't do it justice, but About Jordan - Edit: Just noticed there is also a video on CBS, here. Another Edit: Jordan's dad sent me this. Jordan was featured on the cover of Soldier of Fortune magazine.
  8. Brought a tear to my eye. That guy has just been added to my list of heroes.
  9. There's already something nearby. Charlie Haffner's place, formerly Owl Hollow Gun Club. Of course that's a Franklin address and Brentwood is a little closer to me. Hmmm.
  10. Yea, they frown on building fires in apartments. Go figure.
  11. Congrats to a proud dad and his son. Tell him, stay alert, stay alive.
  12. That was impressive. But for the record, pulling the charging handle back isn't exactly a function check. Still, pretty darn fast.
  13. Unfortunately for him, according to the story, they brought out a drug dog that indicated he smelled something - probable cause. Do you mean because of the drug dog? If not, they apparently didn't. At least according to this version. Or maybe the fact that he indicated that he had guns in the trunk? Of course since that is not illegal I don't think that would apply either. Just remember that nobody posts videos of their uneventful and respectful LEO encounters.
  14. Can't wait to get my first with a bow. For that matter, I can't wait to get my first with a gun. I've got the entire week of Thanksgiving off this year, so I will be in the woods for 9 days waiting for my chance. Maybe next year I'll try bow too.
  15. Yep, it's less an auction and more a bidding war. People just seem to want to show that they are able to pay top dollar sometimes. I am able on some things, but willing on very few.
  16. Wow, that is outrageous. My blood pressure went up about 20 points reading that. Of course I realize that there are two sides to the story, but wow.
  17. I'm not a lady, but I'll speak for my wife. She HATES it when I smack her on the butt just as she's pulling the trigger. Go figure. Seriously, just don't be condescending. Explain things patiently and like you're talking to an adult. Be patient and have fun.
  18. "360 no scope!" Yea, but then he got into a Miata! That thing makes my Hyundai look like a Hummer.
  19. I doubt Haslam will be unprepared. He talks a good game, but when it comes vote time he is cut from the same cloth as Bredesen and McWherter.
