Progressive Presses: Dillon vs Lee vs Hornady
Mark@Sea replied to TNTitan's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
When I pulled my gear out of storage and decided not to refurbish my lee loadmaster presses, I researched and decided to go with the Hornady Lock-n-load, only to find that they were out of stock everywhere. If the rush has died down a bit, I may end up ordering one. Good press. Only fault I had with it is that the case feeder won't handle tapered cases (m1 carbine). -
Sheila Jackson Lee has fake Dr. at town hall meeting

When the house needs painting, my first reaction isn't, generally, to burn it down. -
Libtardation of Red Dawn would be a valid cause for declaring war on Hollywood

We've already gotten her a bouncy seat (I just didn't know about it). I went with a variety of teethers/pacifiers.

To answer the original question, dryfire is an excellent method for learning trigger control. Dryfire with a laser works very well - you can see when you are jerking the trigger.

Are the Tennessee senators hosting a town hall meeting?

New Hampshire an open-carry state? Check President was hundreds of yards (and 2 hours) away? Check Not brandishing or threatening? Check If he had presented a threat (even a potential threat) to the president, he'd have been removed. If he had presented a threat to anyone else in the crowd, he'd have been removed. The only threat he presented was to the panties of MSNBC morons, and some gun owners. Saying he should leave it at home is on par with saying he should have left his sign at home, or at least worded it more sensitively. Both are civil rights, constitutionally recognised and protected. Either we have and enjoy the right, or we don't. Geez, its' okay to have gay pride marches, and CPUSA parades, but let a dozen guys open-carry to a golden corral and gun owners complain about it more than the other folks in the restaraunt.

Got your PM Yeah, Strawberry jam, peaches, tomatoes, peas and chili so far this year. My wife loves to can. On the lantern - first thing you do is light it. Then, while lit, shake vigorously from side to side. If the lantern dims or brightens while you do this, you need to clean the tank again, and possibly clean or replace the fuel pickup tube. Second thing to check is the airtube that supports the burner assembly. A favored spot for old spiderwebs and dead wasps, anything in this tube (and even a dent) can restrict airflow and cause pulsing or just poor burning. Replacing the generator is cheap and easy, but doesn't sound like your problem. A bad generator doesn't usually cause pulsing, it just doesn't burn well (or at all).

I collect and restore old gasoline, kerosene and alcohol lamps, lanterns, heaters and stoves. E-bay is a good source for any of these. If you need restoration or repair tips, PM me. My stoves range in size from a vest-pocket single burner to a cabin 'hotplate' 3 burner. We keep a couple of Coleman 502's on standby at home for power outages. One for food, one for the old percolating coffeepot. 502's (out of production) are the best single burner stoves Coleman ever made. You should be able to pick one up for 15-25 bucks plus shipping. Of the three, gasoline stoves are the cheapest, usually. Kerosene stoves are, frankly, a pain in the nether regions to operate, but they work. Well, most of them, anyway - I have an old australian-made double burner that is a real gem. Alcohol stoves are okay, but I would recommend against, primarily for safety reasons. ANY of these stoves will consume oxygen, and produce carbon monoxide. Keep that in mind, and keep a window partially opened for draft. No one has mentioned home canning. Has it gone out of style or something? It's cheaper, after initial setup, than buying canned goods, much less the long-term storage goods offered on various websites. Properly canned foods can last 15-20 years.

Stopping the abuse of the commerce clause was why this was passed in the first place. This is the first step in what is sure to be a long dance. It will take years. -
Taking wife to the range for the first time.. tips?

Ha. Mine knows how to clean, but leaves the detail clean for me to do... she just runs a boresnake down the barrel and gives it a quick wipedown. She didn't even want to do that until I got some Eezox - she hates the smell of Hoppes. -
Anecdotal, but heard of a guy who inherited his fathers' WWII service pistol. Upon checking, it still had 7 in the mag and one in the chamber - WWII era issue ball ammo. He said it shot just fine, and guessed it had been loaded since his Dad came home from the war.

Thanks for the suggestions, looking at 'bouncy chairs' now. No way I'd get the kid an AR. An M1 carbine, now... Actually, I am looking into getting a red rider nickel plated so she can be 'just like grandma'. Guess that will have to wait 5 or 6 years, though.

I've already been informed the cotton candy machine is O-U-T. She's just a tad young for a pony. Any good suggestions?

I just don't see the problem. Fire up a lantern.

A burst of .50 in their general direction is usually enough to discourage them. Especially if it accidentally takes the bow off the little fiberglas skiffs they generally use

An 'emo' is a 'very sensitive' person - usually putatively male - who - well, remember crybabies? An emo is someone who not only enjoys being a crybaby, but wants to take it to new heights. They actively look for reasons to put their 'emotional distress' on display in the most public forums possible.

Are the Tennessee senators hosting a town hall meeting?
Mark@Sea replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'm out of state, but my wife tells me there will be a town hall meeting in Johnson City. She wants to go, but not alone - afraid she'd end up shooting some thug. Metalhead, I agree. Let Ralphie go and do his bit for national socialism somewhere else, he'll get no recognition from me. -

For the same reason he hollers "racist" in every other thread. It's his stock reply to questions, criticism, and differing opinion. Its' also a handy dandy way to get off the subject or hi-jack the thread. Quote the current version of the healthcare bill chapter and verse, point out that it directly refutes Obamas' promises, and you're a racist. Point out (and prove) that democrats are the ones recruiting, paying, and bussing in supporters for town hall meetings, and you're a racist. Mention that Obama is socialist, and you're an uneducated racist. Its' happened too many times to be a coincidence, I've concluded he is deliberately wrecking threads, and going for thread-lock, in order to sabotage discussion of the many discrepancies between what Obama is saying and what he is doing. I put him on my ignore list, I'd suggest you do the same. You won't miss anything constructive. -
