Legalize Illegals to Get Them Health Care
Mark@Sea replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Strick, disregarding the many other reasons why an amnesty is a bad idea, disregarding the fact that it didn't work the last time (which was billed as a one-time-only, of course), why do you assume that people who are very willing to skip out on debts now will be less willing to skip out on them in the future? And why assume that manual laborers will end up paying taxes, rather than getting 'refunds' that amount to more than they paid in the first place? -

The left is really big on revisionism. As seen earlier in this thread, Reagan (who rescued the carter economy, returned the carter hostages, returned taxes to the taxpayers and managed to win the cold war while doing so) is still a boogeyman for them. His legacy stands as proof that freedom beats their version of socialism. They'll go to any length to deny and re-write the facts. Shoot, they're trying now to blame the tripling of the deficit on Bush, despite visual evidence of the contrary. Refusing to admit that the housing crash can easily be traced to clinton-championed legislation, corrupt senators running interference for their friends at Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, and lawsuits forcing banks to grant loans to very poor risks (Obama and ACORN worked hand in hand on that, you might recall). Wait and see. In their version of history, ACORN will be mourned as a martyr to republican dirty tricks, rather than the criminal organization they've been demonstrated to be. Boy, thats' really gotta sting. -

Ralph sez we should disregard all the right-wing fearmongering about the healthcare bill, besides, if we don't pass it, we're all gonna die!! And puppies will be killed, too! Actually, fearmongering seems to be a favored tactic of this administration. If you don't pass this bill, the economy will crash. If you don't pass this bill, everyone of you will be out of work by the end of the year. If you don't pass this bill, we will destroy the earth. If you don't pass this bill, we'll all die while evil (insert convenient scapegoat here) profit! It's so predictable, it's boring. Ralph, you just demonstrated that you're a self-caricature, you know that? As for personal attacks, hey, if thats' all you've got, it sure makes your argument (and your character) look pretty weak. -
Disagree with Obama? You're obviously a racist!
Mark@Sea replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
To automatically assume that all whites are inherently racist is... Anyone? Anyone? Buehler? To debate dishonestly, ignoring the facts that don't support your position, attacking your opponents integrity instead of responding to his points, making false accusations in order to focus attention away from your own glaring faults, is.... Anyone? Ralph? The left have no intent or desire for honest debate. Honesty and integrity are losing tactics for their goals and intentions. They can't debate on the issues, they've got nothing to back their arguments. I've got no use for liars. -

Well, no, Joe Wilson wasn't in error. Obama was (and is) lying about the bill, on any number of issues. The idiot left are playing the race card because its' all they have. They've lied about the number uninsured, the effect on the deficit, the tax increases that will be required, the cuts to medicare, the coverage of illegals... they've been caught every time. Losers. Worse, they're corrupt, treasury embezzling, tax-frauding, lying losers. They are hoping that (as they have done so many times before) if they make enough noise, we'll fold just for peace and quiet. They're worse than 4 year olds. Well, for the next several elections, it's time to spank the baby. Might be a bit easier, too, seeing as ACORN's funding to bus fraudulent votes from polling station to polling station is about to be pulled. As for the Black Panthers 'guarding' polling stations to make sure only the right people vote - well, the justice dept. is going to ignore it. Remember the battle of Athens... -

Must be pretty difficult. Democrats are dead set against requiring a photo ID to vote, too. I wonder why that is?? <snerk> -

Senile dementia, is my bet. First signs appeared about a month after he assumed the office. Obama seems to be more carter than carter was, hows' that for a scary thought? So far employment has been shot through the head, the deficit has gone to warp factor 9, GM was taken from the owners/shareholders and given to the unions, treasury has sunk dozens if not hundreds of banks with 'stress tests' and then given them to their buddies, and looks like obamacare is going to be passed notwithstanding the minor matter of a majority being against it. Taxes are about to take a huge hike; the middle class is going to become an endangered species. Third rate dictators around the world are dancing in the streets and cashing their checks, and our allies are discovering that our committment to freedom is as thin as the line between communism and 'liberalism', and our military has taken second place to funding welfare for the chronically useless. Question: Assuming Obamas' intent is to destroy the country as an economic, political and military source, what would he be doing differently? (Don't bother to answer, Ralph, I already know - I'm an ignorant racist.) -
Black Plastic furniture for Rem. 870 or clones. Rifle type buttstock. Condition: New takeoff. *gone* - One set to Fizik, another set to Truthsayer in a couple weeks, when I get the new shotty.

That'll work! Nice rifle.

In what alternate reality does Socialist = black? Better question, why do the left consistently and loudly substitute 'black' for 'Socialist'? Answer: Because that way, they get to play the race card. Pretty neat trick. Criticism becomes automatic evidence of racism. Huh. Just think - last year, dissent was "the highest form of patriotism". This year, it is racism. Thing is, though, I'm beginning to associate throwing the race card with being a lying hypocrite. -

Ralph, you lie. You referred to his post as racism. Shouldn't that be "facts you're willing to acknowledge" since you steadfastly disregard any of the many, many posts about why people dislike his socialist tendencies? Of course you are racist, there is no other explanation (Its' gettin' real old, Ralph) -

White House says--Protestors are all wrong...
Mark@Sea replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If that was 60,000 then the Million Mom March was two old ladies and a radio flyer wagon full of acorn registration cards. If that was 60,000 then Farrakhans' million man march was 3 kids and a stray dog. If that was 60,000, then by the Park Services' own metric, Obamas' inauguration was attended by 27.000 very, very messy people. Hey, I can do this all week. Absolutely, there are no Americans in Baghdad. Why would I lie to you? -

Guys, if you think of Ralph as our very own Baghdad Bob, it makes it easier to understand him... -

SunTzu hit the nail on the head with the personal documents. Thumbdrive is a great idea. Gonna use that myself. Prioritize requirements, pack to suit. First Aid, shelter, water, food, defense. You can go a while with a cut, burn, scrape or bite, but if it gets infected, you're in trouble. You can go a while in rain/high winds - unless the temperature drops, then you have hours. (Tarp and sleeping bag, at least). You don't have to take a tent, if you know how to put together a good shelter. You can go a couple days or more without water, but it is your next immediate need. You can't carry enough with you, so get a water filter, and a couple canteens each. 4 MRE's will keep you both going a couple days. Have a way to heat water (I don't care for sterno stoves either, but I collect hiking stoves, it isn't really an issue). You can't burn a wood fire in your shelter for warmth or cooking, but you can with a small hiking stove (mine use gasoline, same as my small lanterns). Small first aid kit (antiseptic, bandages, needle, thread, aspirin, etc.) (Include neosporin, iodine, something for anaphylactic shock if you are alergic to bees, etc. Forget 'snake bite' kits). Glock 21, Taurus PT145, Ruger SP-101 (100 rds .45, 50 rds .38) ( 1 pistol each, common ammo, and a breakdown .22 rifle. ) 8 cans of chef boyardee, 8 cans of tunafish (cans heavy, MRE's light - and more calories) Water tablets (enough for 50 liters) (Get a filter, as discussed) 1 portable camp stove with two 8-hour sterno cans (see discussion above) 2 8 hour emergency candles & 2 lighters (keep the lighters, get a gas lantern, or a wind-up led lantern - candles don't light for doodly. Each carry an LED flashlight) 1 Magnesium Flint & striker (nah, bic lighters will do you fine - triox tabs for firestarting) 50 Feet of Nylon Rope (swap it for paracord unless you plan to do some climbing) And for sanitys' sake, take a deck of cards. I'd personally carry a cold steel kukri - it is lighter, and can stand in for a hand axe. Definitely carry a sharpening device. Carry a folding shovel, for when doody calls.

If I've earned your contempt, CK1, I'm okay with that. I choose not to worship false idols, not to mistake oratory for ability, and not to follow a man who feels that the way to peace is surrender. You've chosen to venerate a man who expressed sympathy for the terrorists, to blind yourself to the policies and consequences of a man who is attempting to destroy the foundations upon which this nation is built, and to betray the memory of those who died by following a man who wants to change this day from a day of remembrance to a day of servitude. It's terrible what grief and fear can do to a man. I hope you find peace.

Fines proposed for going without health insurance

Ain't running. Making my stand. Watch out for the hot brass. -
I've got about that many (had to think about it, I'm not really a shotgun guy) and the "how many is too many" question never occurred to me.... so you're safe for a while yet. You might think about picking up an old Remmy model 11, attaching a mag extender to it (the 870 version will work with just a little effort) and cutting the barrel to match... old-school ruckus management tool!

SunTzu, you've been tried and convicted of freedom, to the detriment of our would-be rulers. Obama and his 'progressives' are just working out the sentence.. Someone posted a youtube of a bunch of 'progressives' chanting "we want pie, we want pie" (remember michelle obama telling America we'd all have to share a piece of our pie?) It was sickening - I thought of zombies, really. Coming for my 'pie'. -

Applying "truth in advertising" to obamacare
Mark@Sea replied to Mark@Sea's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"In the absence of any other rational, fact-based reasons to hate the President as so many do" Ah, okay. Lets' ignore or debase the polls because they don't support our conclusions. Lets' ignore the well-over half the country that are against a socialist making fundamental changes to our system of government because we really don't have a response to their criticisms. In fact, lets' ignore the fact that Obama got his start in the socialist party, and has appointed a bunch of socialists to positions of power. Ralph, if thats' the best you've got, maybe instead of getting all emo on us you might re-examine your core beliefs. We can still debate, we just have to agree that facts that don't support our positions don't get "thrown under the bus". I realize that you don't have a great role model in that regard, but if you can get past that, we might make progress. (Got one word for ya, Ralph. GOOGLE. Try googling 'debunk michael moore sicko'.)
