  1. Ah, I'm not jumping your case, Jewell; it just really chaps my hindparts when I see these cases, and the DA goes on to higher political office instead of federal prison. Once is too many. There was a recent "uprising" against DA's being untouchable, and 'amazingly', many state AG's jumped in, defending the prosecutors immunity from liability for knowingly violating law and decency. Kind of made me want to check the going price for good rope.
  2. The signs, which typically cost between $500 and $1,200 to design, make and install, read: “Putting America to Work” in black letters on an orange background, and “Project Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act” in white letters on a green background tax-subsidized re-election billboards And just for bonus giggles:
  3. Should cycle fine, it really is good stuff. The roll crimp on the end, though, makes it just a tad longer than nominal.
  4. Tennessee Vinyl Banners, Signs and Printing Search Results for zip ties Some assembly required...
  5. Is Mike Nifong in prison? How about Martha Coakly? With an afternoons' research I could give you a list of DA's as long as my leg who intentionally and knowingly disregarded fact, manufactured evidence of guilt, destroyed evidence of innocence, coerced witnesses, and not only broke but smashed law and civil rights in order to turn innocent people into political trophies. Now if Mikey were doing 12-15 in the state pen, or if these 'rogue' attorneys regularly turned up in the daisy farming business, I might agree that there was a message being sent. As it is, the message is that unless you are extraordinarily unfortunate in picking your victim, you can do any-damn-thing at all. Chances are better than fair that anyone who borrows trouble, although morally right, will get his or her head handed to them afterwards.
  6. I'll pass on the American Eagle, but if I needed buckshot the S&B is good stuff. Be advised that because of the method of crimping, in some guns you can't stuff as many S&B as you can other makes with flat crimped ends.
  7. Unfortunately, though, what the local prosecutor decides to do is all too often based on his own prejudice and political ambition, rather than the law - and he has zero liability for his actions.
  8. What do we have right now? We've got a president who just awarded 25 million in public funds to an advertising company (coincidentally -yeah, sure - the same one that got him elected). These public funds will be used to influence public opinion in favor of his agenda. Short story? Obama is using public funds in an attempt to improve his poll ratings. We've got a DOJ Attorney General using public funds to pay people to infiltrate networking sites and forums such as this one, spreading centrally directed propaganda and directly attacking his political opposition. We've got a majority of the "free" press owned by a handful of corporations and individuals who are slanting coverage, directing 'opinion' pages, and lying by omission to cover for the administration - because they're making millions in public funds to do so. We've got a president and his hand-picked treasury secretary directing the hostile takeover and dismantling of American companies, and funneling the pieces to their own corporate backers. The SCOTUS decision is just going to allow the other side to fire back in the war on truth. As someone pointed out, the people crying about this the loudest are the far left - and maybe their paid cointel infiltrators.
  9. Me and mine. In any other case, the situation would have to be very clear cut - such as the guy pouring gasoline on a woman in a parking lot (stopped by a permit holder when he pulled out a lighter) or the guy stabbing the woman in wal-mart (shot to death by a permit holder after repeated warnings). All those scenarios where you are in a public place with someone shooting people randomly, then you are in danger, correct? Sorry, no link, but there was a guy in Texas, stopped at a mall to buy ammo (he was on the way to the range). He witnessed a man shoot a woman in the parking lot, then stand over her and shoot her in the head. The good guy fired several shots, the killer made it several blocks before bleeding out and parking his vehicle against a phone pole. The good guy subsequently spent several years getting pronged by the local DA, who eventually got a grand jury to indict, although he was found not guilty at trial. Cost to the DA (democrat with political ambitions): zero. Cost to the guy that stopped a killer? Hundreds of thousands in legal bills. I have no intention of destroying my (and my familys') life to save a stranger. I'm NOT Batman.
  10. Any sign makers onboard TGO?
  11. Don't know if you've heard about 'ellie light', a 'local' who wrote identical letters to more than 60 papers, and had them published on the editorial pages. People are now trying to find out who this 'ellie' is, and the trail leads straight to the white house. That's just the start, though - other correlations have popped up, and it is apparent that there has been a coordinated clandestine propaganda effort going on for months. More info here, here, and a dozen other places. This story is pretty big - and you can bet it'll never see the light of day in the 'mainstream media'. So much for the Supreme Court decision on McCain-Feingold being a disaster.
  12. Well, thats' different then. Of course, as an individual with no corporate funding, my voice will never be heard, unless I get together with a group of like-minded individuals and incor - whups. Say, I know, I'll start a newspaper or news channel and then I can campaign to my hearts content, under the guise of 'editorials', picking and choosing what I want to see print, and so forth. No one would ever misuse that power to select and support a candidate, right? Seems I've heard a whole lot in the last few years about foreign nationals giving campaign money to US politicians. Good thing we had this law in place protecting us from that, right? Of course, all the information about these donations was brought to light by others, so we knew just who was supported by whom... heck, somebody prob'ly made a movie about it. And the FEC prohibited the movie from being shown. A corporation is nothing more than a fellowship of individuals, sharing goals and purposes. Should they be silenced because of it?
  13. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Seems pretty cut and dried to me. When the gov't passes a law that basically protects the incumbant by prohibiting speech before an election, that would seem to me to be "abridging the freedom of speech".
  14. Well, apparently you're okay with restricting free speech for americans, as long as those shifty foreigners don't get to say things. I'm not. Check your prejudice against the DOJ's position that it could ban articles, books, movies, etc. that involve political speech. Now hold this up against the first amendment. The ironic thing about your position is that the suit was brought by the producers of a movie about Hillary Clinton. The Clintons took literally millions from Chinese sources. I think you just checkmated yourself.
  15. The decision simply said that Congress may not regulate political speech. Sounds like a win to me.
  16. electrolytic deplating. Lots and lots and lots of polishing, unless you're very good with the deplating the gun will look like it was media blasted. copper plate, then nickel.
  17. I have first hand experience on ruining a barrel with corrosive ammo. I've got a half-dozen cans of the old GI bore cleaner at home - you're welcome to a can, for experimental purposes.
  18. By WWII, the US at least was issuing a great bore cleaner. Not sure what was in it, but it was water based, milky white in appearance and by all reports was a great bore cleaner for corrosive ammo. Production of this stuff stopped sometime after WWII, so although you can sometimes find a can of it on e-bay or at a yard sale, be advised it is 60 years old, at least. For a decent substitute, try making up a gallon of Ed's Red Bore Cleaner
  19. He is on record as supporting national healthcare reform, but is against the bill(s) currently before congress. He is a very liberal republican, but less liberal than some. Certainly a heck of a lot less liberal than the communists currently running the democratic party. It's massachusettes, did you think a Ronald Reagan would get elected there? Not a perfect solution, just the best choice available. The alternative (not supporting him) was far, far worse.
  20. Actually, it's the ammonia in the windex that neutralizes the corrosive salts. A week without cleaning, especially in a humid environment, and your bore will be toast. Now, what would be a wartime 'expedient' source of warm ammonia water???? Consider that one item of issue for the enfield was a large funnel? ANCILLARY ENFIELD EQUIPMENT Page 2 Drink 4 or 5 cups of coffee and think about it for an hour, the answer will come to you....
  21. Yep, I know. Also know he has vowed to vote against obamacare. Likewise card-check and immigration 'reform'... Works for me. Of course, this election wasn't a gut check for obama, just like VA and friggen NJ were just isolated local elections of no real importance. (How about that? A republican governer in NJ. A republican Senator in "the Kennedy seat". Dayum, time to buy stock in ice skates). Obama has turned out to be an A-1 gun salesman, and the best draw for the Republican party since Reagan. Is there nothing the man can't do?
  22. Oh, it isn't that they don't get it - it's that they cannot accept what is so plainly before them - that Americans are beginning to reject their socialist agenda, their "intellectual leadership", and the guy that was elected to govern, but elected to rule instead. If they accept these facts, their whole world goes down the toilet. Certainly we dumb peasants couldn't be rejecting them, could we? No, must be our fault, the candidates' fault, heck, Bush's fault. This win isn't the end, it's the beginning. My personal goal is to hear that Keith Olbermans' head exploded on TV. (I don't want to see it, even that wouldn't make him worth watching).
