ATN Aries Paladin. $500. Good out to 100 with the illuminator, I think it'd be okay at 150 or 200 with a better illuminator. Pros: Battery life is good, illuminator is a separate unit that will mount to the top of the scope or to a rail. Image is okay, especially considering the price. Decent reticle. Mounts to a picatinny rail. Cons: Relatively bulky and heavy. Image isn't nearly as good as some of the gen2 stuff (but you get what you pay for...)

I had an original AR-180 for years. Fun to shoot, accuracy was better than the mini-14, never could find a scope mount for it, and couldn't replace the barrel. The original version would make a good trunk monkey, but to be honest, there are other options available these days. I'd pay 4-5 hundred for one, but no more...
