I've heard the air force has been wanting to mothball them for about 10 years now.  Good planes - flying tanks.

  Do you really think that, as a nation, we have generations left?  With the debt piling up so rapidly, a POTUS openly flouting the law, a DOJ that refuses to investigate criminal activities committed by their friends and fellow travelers, an IRS that has become the administrations' personal attack dog...    Bless your optimism.  While I'm sure there will be a federal gov't in two generations, I have no hopes that any of us would recognize what will become of our nation.

I have a project in mind that requires laser cutting and bending aluminum sheet maybe 3/16's thick.  Overall size is roughly 10x14 inches.  About 12 cuts needed.  This would be a one-off for me, but there is definitely a market.

To continue the "war on terror", which basically means to continue and expand the various anti constitutional programs, they need a credible enemy. If the threat were gone, people would be a lot more vocal about the various abuses and power grabs, and before you know it the money and contracts would dry up. Can't have that, now, can we?

Alcohol stoves are fun to make.  I've got gas, kero and alcohol stoves (I collected them for about 10 years).

Go with original military (raw linseed oil, on it now) or finish sand and Tru-oil varnish finish?

 Not sure why my edit didn't show.  The stove stows inside the cookset, and will boil a liter of water in under 5 mi, using a handful of twigs as fuel.

20 years Navy, 10 years civilian mariner with Military Sealift Command.  At sea for 10 months (or more) of the year for about 10 years running.

  I've got problems with asset forfeiture that directly benefits the party doing the taking.  Don't want to encourage that.
