That's two (that we know of - I would expect more at this point). So we know the chief of police was aware of the actions of the officers. Did he somehow fail to point out the facts after the first incident? This isn't a training issue, except to the point the officers involved in both searches were either not trained to recognize an illegal search and assault, or did it anyway, secure in believing they'd not face any blowback. The medicos involved have been referred to the state medical board. The officers involved in this latest incident referred to a police review board. I want to hear that they, including the chief, have been referred to a grand jury. State level for assault, and then federal for violation of constitutional rights under the color of law. X-rays? Colonoscopies? Even winning a big suit wouldn't "make it right" for these guys, but the state attorney, at a minimum, should ensure this doesn't happen again.

What became of the poster here on TGO that was so thrilled over Obamacare getting passed? I wonder how thrilled he is today?

Far too many confuse race with culture. Some deliberately. -

Well, that was easy - a 2 year old report from the Massachusets Medical society -- here are some highlights (t)he state law has resulted in “longer patient wait times [and] continued difficult access to primary care physicians.†The average wait time in Massachusetts to see an internal medicine physician is now 48 days — double the national average. Over half of primary care practices are no longer accepting new patients. Fewer physicians are accepting the state-run Commonwealth Care and Commonwealth Choice insurance plans. So although they have increased “coverage,†many patients cannot find doctors to provide them with actual medical care. Dr. Lorraine Schratz, a Massachusetts pediatric cardiologist, noted that half of physicians trained in the state are leaving due to the poor practice environment and poor reimbursements. “My Medicaid card is useless for me right now…. It’s a useless piece of plastic. I can’t find an orthopedic surgeon or a pain management doctor who will accept Medicaid.†-

You're being optimistic. I've heard (my SIL is a nurse) that more than a few Docs who are able to quit are retiring early, refusing new patients, or dropping out of HMO's. Think 17 million new patients, most of whom will have no economic reason NOT to go to the emergency room with a hangnail, and 10% fewer doctors. I imagine if we look at romneycare we can refine those numbers, but I know that emergency room visits exploded there. -

They need those illegals on the plantation to counteract the liberals that just got mugged by O'care. Checking comments around various sites, the libs are really pulling excuses out of thin air. They're blaming the costs and the cancellations on the republicans, the Koch brothers, the tea party... I don't see how, as not a single republican in the house had any input when it was passed. -

Well, they couldn't get a VAT, so single payer will be the excuse. Obamacare is already effectively the largest tax increase ever, and single payer will cost even more. But wait, there's more... - vastly extended waiting periods for even simple procedures - you won't be able to pay out of pocket to get a better or faster procedure or prescription drug - The government gets to decide whether or not your 'lifestyle choices' warrant you receiving care at all Not to mention the reduced quality of care due to the many healthcare professionals who aren't going to be able to afford working at government rates - think medicare for everyone. Now think about how many providers won't accept medicare. What happens when they have no choice? In magic socialist world, they'll just have to take the hit. In the real world, aspiring medical students will do a cost/benefit analysis and decide they'd be better off doing something else. Personally, I think we probably have enough lawyers and business majors already. -

Does it matter how many visit the website if they can't sign up? That math will be more than fuzzy, it will be downright out of focus. And speaking of focus, that's what Obamacare is going to do to 95% of us. -

Delaying the employer mandate until after next year's elections was a smart move. Estimates are that around 93 million people are going to lose their current plans. The individual market is taking a huge hit already - hundreds of thousands have gotten cancellation notices. This is by design. Obamacare needs at least 7 million signups by March. Turns out that, like your plan or not, you aren't going to be able to keep it. Single payer is coming. Most have no idea how bad that is going to be. -

"Whether people want to acknowledge it or not, whites do have an advantage over minorities." Applied for any universities, federal jobs, or jobs with companies that deal with the govt? The exact opposite is true. Pole Position, I've had to deal with stupid people too. And then I had the pleasure of dealing with institutionalized stupidity. I personally don't care if you're black, brown, green, or yellow (now, I really hate reds). But to slack off, not do your assigned duties, screw over your mates, go awol for the weekend and get away with it because you pull the race card... To be perfectly honest, the most racist people I have ever met were asian, followed very closely by blacks. Yeah, I've met a (very) few racist whites, but like I said, dealing with stupid people is a cross we all have to bear. A racist white will get corrected in a skinny minute. A racist minority is encouraged. And the white male gets blamed for all of it. I'm just as tired of that burden as you are. -

Deja Moo ("I've heard this bull**** before") White? You're a racist. Male? You're a sexist pig. Stereotypes are only bad when applied to minorities, cults, or females. Equal opportunity means giving the job to someone who isn't qualified. I've had it with the whining. Either you can cut it or you can't, but quit crying that it's my fault. Next one to get in my face with that crap is liable to get their feelings hurt. -

People who 'game' elections really don't have a clue what the alternative to a fair vote looks like. I'm certain that when the time comes, they won't like it. -

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. H.L. Mencken In this case the Evil Republicans want to starve your children. -

The Optimus 8R was built like a tank. No, none, zero possibility you could turn it over, either. The Svea 123 you could turn over, but no chance of dumping fuel. The last stove I picked up, a SOLO, is probably the best for backpacking, as you don't have to carry fuel. That makes it lighter than everything else. It works well, too.
