I have several SIG'S and love them all, a 1911 setup for IDPA but my next gun purchase is to replace my G19, the best carry gun I ever had!!!! NUFF SAID!! COOP

I shot the P3AT and the PF9 and they were the worst pistols I've ever shot, triggers and sights sucked and so did the recoil. I also shot the Ruger and liked it better than the Kel Tek's but I bought the SIG P238 HD, full stainless, night sights, and recoil is close to a BB gun. Sometimes you actually get what you pay for... After 1000 rounds through it probably one of the best Sigs I own!!! COOP

A new SIG is always a good thing and I've read nothing but good things about the SP2022. Enjoy!!!! COOP

AR-15 cold weather issue, anyone ever have problems?
THE COOP replied to THE COOP's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Definately not the lube, I changed lowers so the upper stayed the same and all the lube just a defferent lower. I went by the local Gunsmith and we took some measurements and here is what we found, if you look into the magwell the lower is off set in one direction by more than .020 so there is a lip on one side where the lower meets the upper and not on the other side. Rocking the upper side to side on the lower causes a .020 gap and we can get feeler guages in the gap. The P mags fit pretty tight with only .002 gap in a 75 degree room so I wouldnt be surprised if a 50 degree drop in tempreture would close up a .002 gap on the mag. So next question, what is the maximum gap inbetween an upper and lower? I've had AR's that were so tight you had to tap the take down pins in and out with and my upper fits on other lowers much better that my current lower. COOP -
Long story-short version, was in a 2 day carbine class this weekend and I was using my personally built LMT upper, SLR-15 lower with a full auto BCG, I put 400 rounds through it on Saturday with no issues and 100% reliable, that night I cleaned it up a little and lubed it well with CLP, Sunday morning start of the class the mags were having issues seating all the way in and when I forced them lock in the BCG would jam every round, most of the time the face of the BCD wouldnt pick up the round? Borrowed another rifle for a few hours and at lunch I wet to a friends and borrowed his Spike tactical lower I built for him a few months ago, put it on my upper and it ran fine all day. After the class I inspected my upper and lower also compared them to my friends upper and lower, I did see a few issues with fit on my upper and lower and seemed to have loosen up the fit between the upper and lower, a lot of play side to side and a noticeable gap between them. But as the rifle warmed up in the house it started to function normally which leads me to think the weather on Sunday, 30 degrees may have something to do with it and was 10 - 15 degrees cooler then the day before. So I'm looking for some info on cold weather AR or if anyone else has seen this kind of issue before? COOP

I absolutely love my P220 Stainless Sport that I bought from another member a few weeks ago, over 500 rounds through it and flawless, I've had several 1911's but ended up selling them for some reason but I've got certain Sigs I'll never get rid of and one being my new P220. It is far more accurate that I am, made in Germany, full Stainless and did I mention it's really accurate!!!! Buds have these new for $899 shipped. By far the best Sig I ever owned, I do carry it sometimes and with the right holster it's not a problem so to answer the OP's question, Buy a Sig P220.... I like Sigs.. COOP

I recently purchased a Sig P238 HD as a pocket backup, 400 rounds thru it and flawless so far, the HD is full stainless and go's with my full stainless P220.. COOP

Magpul Dynamics "Art of the Tactical Carbine" v1 REVIEW
THE COOP replied to a topic in Training Discussions
David, Is there anything we (TGO) as a group could do to bring them here? I know of a few who would participate in this class myself including to bring it to middle TN? I'm willing to put 100% into helping? Feel free to PM me with any details...... COOP -
Very scarry stuff and glad your OK, I just got a new holster for my Sig P220 ST today as it was moved into my primary carry weapon, like a boat anchor that can kill but I LOVE THIS GUN, it fits very tight into the new holster and this story will remind me to holster slowly. Thanks for sharing.... COOP

THE COOP replied to inspecting1's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Are you using the standard factory mags? If so get some descent mags like Chip Mccormick or Wilson combat mags to solve your problem.. COOP -
Very nice SIG, had on last year and I liked it except for the .40 cal.... Congratulation and welcome to the SIGNESS... COOP

I would politely have to disagree with both these procedures. In my Armorers calss we discussed trigger jobs and were given detailed instructions on how to do a trigger job and I've since done trigger jobs to all by builds and now friends AR's who have shot mine, my procedure and the way I was trained and certified was to gently stone the hammer and sear surfaces with a very fine stone just to remove the machining marks, stonning in the direction the the hammer and sear funtion against each other being careful no to change any angle or the edges of the hammer and sear. I them polish both machined surfaces with a bench polishing wheel (no Dremel tools) to a mirror finish. And finally adding a J P Enterprises AR-15 Reduced Power Spring Kit from Brownells ($9.99) All my builds have functioned 100% flawlessly and my trigger has no creep, a crisp break and a very light trigger pull. I've used stock RRA lower parts kits for all my builds. The only problem I have now is every time one of my buddies shoots my AR I get asked to do a trigger job to their AR!!!! Didn't mean to jack your thread Jeff in any way so take this a my opinion from my experiences..... COOP

So my buddy and myself are going to split 2000 rounds of the 9mm this week from Precision Delta. I have another question though, is the an accuracy difference between FMJ and JHP? I know a bullseye shooter who usses JHP and he told me they were more accurate that FMJ? Another precision shooter told me just the opposite? So I'm looking for the best accuracy out of my G17 Gen 4 as I train on my shooting precision... Thanks COOP

Sale price update, I seen new stripped lowers, Aero Precision, on sale on dansammo.com for $59.99 and I plan on buying one next week. That would be a good place to start!!!! COOP

I've been shooting there all summer and I really like the range, I also like shooting out doors rather that indoors all the time, and the price is right, $5.50 for 2 hours is a great deal. So thanks for the job that you and all the volunteers do at the range!!! COOP
