When I told my friends I was buying a handgun and going to take a HCP class they all thought I'd lost my mind but this is one of the reasons why, now most of my friends are talking about taking the HCP class and asking me about handguns, sometimes I can barely stand to read/whatch the news because there are to many tragic stories like this one... I hope they all burn in HELL for eternity!!!!! COOP

So I would like to get some work done to my Sig P6, it's a pre 80's and it don't like the wide mouth JHP's so I need to get the feed ramp modded by 2 degrees and polished to feed all the JHP's I want!!!! Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!! COOP

I called yesterday and she was very nice, she said they have all the paperwork and it's in the system and to call back in a week, DAMN IT MAN!!!! 4 weeks out now!!! COOP

I've been doing a lot of research on gun lubricants specifically for alloy frames and steel slides like my SIG's and a lot of top rated armorers recommend a very light grease like Slide Glide, I ordered some today so I'll post a range report in the future on how well it works.... COOP

I also took the class yesterday and being a new shooter this class bridged many gaps from the basic HCP class I took, (not CIS) and now I also know what my own weakensses are and what I need to practice on for real life situations. If your going to carry a handgun you really need training like this class offers IMHO!!! Todd and Dustin, thanks again for the training, to me it was eye opening since I'm a NEWB but I would recommend it to all HCP holders and I will be going to the 2 day course in October, it was also great meeting fellow TGO's!!! COOP Cant wait to see the pictures!!!!

Update!!! The search is officially over, today I bought a Sig P239 from Guns and Leather (Thanks Daniel) 100 rounds through it flawlessly, I also picked up a IWB holster and the gun conceals perfect, I', in shock about the amount of recoil the gun doesnt have, very smooth and just so everyone know the reason I went with the Sig is because I wanted an Alloy framed gun and the P239 fit the bill perfect. On a side not, last night I also picked up a low dollar P6, early 80's west Germany Sig in 9 mill, wow!! another great gun and the 9 shoots like a dream, so it's been a double SIG weekend!!!! Does life get any better? Thanks everyone for all the advise and opinions. COOP

What night sites are you putting on? COOP

You have a very valid point, I really love my M&P, probably the finest gun I've ever owned and I carry it all the time around the house and yard getting used to carry and waiting for my CHP, it is a bit big for concealment in my opinion, the M&P .40c is at the top of my list since I already have one but to be honest the XD .40 subcompact and the P239 and maybe the Glock are my 3 favorites, I want a alloy framed gun but price comes into play and the XD will probably be the compact I buy. Now with that said if any other TGO members have one of these guns in great shape I dont mind buying used and I have cash so send me a PM on what you got. Again thanx for all the advise all and hope to see you at the range!!!! COOP

Thanx all for the info, still a newbee but getting better and I had a feeling it wasnt a high quality hand quality even if it is a Kahr, it's over priced for being used thats for sure.... COOP

I was under the impression they were priced high in the $800 range acording to this. Kahr CW-Series Compact Pistol Reviews Forum and Reference Guide

Seen this today used at the hunting store, stainless steel and priced at $459. What do you all think of this gun? Thanks!!! COOP

Wow!!! Great info from all of you, I've got a little spread sheet with all the guns listed with the weight, length, price, rating and going through all the info thoroughly, I think the trend seems to be XD/GLOCK/SIG. My lists also includes S&W, CZ, HK, KAHR, WALTER. Now I'll go to the gunshop and do some touchy feely!!!! Thanks all and feel free to add any more info!!! COOP

Why dont they make a XDM .40 compact or subcompact? WTH!!!!
-
I like the HK's but dont like the price!!!! COOP

The XD compact/subcompact and the Glock 27/23 are on my short list, I would rather have a XDM compact but they done exist yet, also if you read my post from the other week when a brand new XD broke in my hands after 30 rounds. Also to be honest I've been doing a lot of Glock reading and only have 1 issue with them, THEY ARE BUTT UGLY!!!! IMHO!!! I know ugly can save your life but I'm not sure I'm ready to switch to the dark side yet (NEWBEE) and would like a little extra safety, thanks for the opinions and keep them coming!!!! COOP

Thanks DWARREN123, Sigs are at the top of my list and the P239 looks like a winner... COOP

Pretty much says it all, so I have my 2 .45's and both are entry level 1911's, I also have my M&P .40 full size so I'm looking for the perfect carry .40, Everything comes into play, size, weight, reliability, price and looks!!! Yes, I want it to look good, you cant tell me that a Kimber doesnt look good because it DOES!!! So who has what and what do you think is the perfect carry .40? COOP
