You don't have to have a bank account.  Just get Money Orders and make the pay from your trust name.  You can get a bank account, but it isn't required.

Very Nice. I literally just finished my 300 Blackout Pistol a little while ago today. I have my suppressor, but I am waiting on a 5/8 adaptor for it (it is a 9mm can with a 1/2x28 right now). So in the meantime, I put a Noveske KX3 on it so I can start some subsonic load testing. I am hoping by using the KX3 that it will mimic somewhat the backpressure of the suppressor so I don't have to adjust the gas block after I get it set the first time. Looking forward to hopefully getting out this week and doing some testing. I put a cheap red dot on it until I figure out what kind of scope/sightes I want to get for it. Mine is a TGO Upper/Lower with 8.5" McGowen Barrel. Can't wait to shoot it.

My buddy was just telling me about something like this last night.  We were talking about building one.  This will help make it much easier for us.  I will be following this closely.

From what I understand, they selected McGavock because it is one of a few schools which has a specialized program for students to use towards a music industry career.  It isn't because it is music related, but more general in nature about being an example of schools transforming into more than they are today.  I actually agree with him on this.  Schools need to offer more programs for kids to participate in that interest them and will give them some reason to go to school.  It will also prepare them better for actually pursuing a career.     I don't agree with most things he does, but I am not going to knock him for this one.

  If it is the one at the flea market at exit 16, it isn't very big.  My parents only live 15 minutes or so from there so if I am there I will go, but I wouldn't drive an hour to go to it.   

Actually, FFL transfer on all guns.  It's just that you can do a long gun at an FFL in KY and a handgun must be sent to TN.  No personal transfers out of state without an FFL in one or the other depending on the type of gun.

I grew up in Manteno (Kankakee County).  I did quite a bit of hunting around those areas including Will County, but most of my deer hunting was done in Southern IL on my aunt and uncle's farm near Anna.  I am 38 so the years where there was a ban around it never affected me.

I can tell you that deer hunting was going on in IL well before 1991.  Cook county may have had some ordinance, but certainly, IL as a whole didn't ban deer hunting.

  To be fair, there are a number of idiots out there who don't secure their guns and the kids shoot themselves or others by just being kids.  That is an issue that can and should be addressed, not through new laws, but through severe punishment of the owners.  In theory, I agree that guns don't kill, people do, but it isn't like all of these kids are being shot by some crazy guy.  What I dislike more is the term "children" in the article.  I suppose technically a 16 yr old is a child, but it is different than a 3 year old finding a gun and accidentally shooting themselves or someone else.  They even mention that a vast majority are in the older age bracket.  

  All excellent points.  I did a lot of research when I got mine and I checked their records.  Sievers did warranty their Goldens from those issues when I got mine and I am sure they still do, but good to ask none the less.  Most breeders give you two years to have hip displatia checked for.  They can find it very early now.    

  Mine timeframe is almost identical to yours.  Submitted in March, went pending May 17th, had some issue in October, and was approved Jan 2nd.  Also through Guns and Leather so that would seem to make sense.  

It isn't in Middle TN, but I know a great breeder near St. Louis.  I got my Golden from them and she was the best dog I have ever had.   She passed in 2010 and if I was home more, I would already have another from them, but I am just not home enough right now to get a puppy.  The only thing about them is that you probably won't be able to just call up and they have one available.  I waited 6 months and pre-paid to have my pick of the litter.  They have a big following by a lot of the St. Louis sports teams as they have excellent hunting dogs, both Goldens and Labs.  Tony Larussa also has a couple of dogs from them.  I just say that to say they are a very good breeder.   I don't know what the price is now, but I can highly recommend them.   http://www.sieverskennels.com/current_litters.php

A Sig 232 is also in the same realm as the PPK.  I had one that I really liked, but I consolidated down to a few calibers so I sold it.

As crazy as this sounds, maybe what they need to do is make it a lottery system.  Essentially so everyone has a fair chance, have it at 6:30 or 7:00 at night when most people can make it and then give out numbers.  Pull random numbers until the ammo is gone.  This way people who show up 2 hours ahead of time because they have nothing better to do can't monopolize the purchases.  I hate that it has to come to that, but that is the only way I can think to make it truly fair.     Luckily I stocked up a long time ago and just haven't been shooting as much to keep supply up, but for those with none, that would seem to be fair.  I suspect the resellers who weren't guaranteed ammo wouldn't show up as much.   It would probably be a nightmare for Wal-Mart to administer so I doubt it would ever be done, but we can wish.

Called ATF today and my form 4 with a trust was approved Jan 2nd. Went pending on March 17th. I am a little annoyed my dealer didn't call and I had to call them. Oh well, at least it's here. Now hopefully only a couple more mynahs for my second one.

Nothing illegal in what they are selling.  You can't be held liable for someone using your product in a way that makes it illegal (although I am sure someone would sue if something bad happened as with everything in America).  The whole oil filter as a suppressor issue has been discussed before.  It's not illegal to sell an oil filter/solvent trap.  It's illegal for the buyer to try and use it as a suppressor.

To add to the above, you only have 6 months to get a TN permit from the time you get here.  Not sure how long you have been here, but if it's more than 6 mo, you are already pushing your luck.

My personal opinion is that too many of us try to push what we like on others.  If we are asked our opinion, no problem, but most of the time, even when we aren't, we still give it.  Some people like that, some people don't.  I think many also have this idea that your wife, partner, son, daughter, or whatever, should be as interested in guns as you are.  In many cases, this couldn't be farther from the truth.  They don't want to know every detail, why, and how of it.  They just want to have one gun they are comfortable with in case the SHTF.   With all of that said, I personally believe that EVERYONE who is not interested in practicing on a regular basis and is not going  to be proficient in clearing a jam or other malfunction should only have a revolver.  There is nothing closer to set it and forget it than a revolver.  No need for a safety to forget and the double action will keep them from accidentally pulling the trigger while in an excited state.  In almost all cases a revolver is fool proof and I firmly believe that for people who want a handgun for defense, but really have no interest in becoming Rambo, it is the best option.       On another note, please realize the HCP class is not firearms training.  If she does decide to get her HCP, I would encourage her to go to a training class before taking her HCP class.  If possible, let her go with a friend and don't go yourself unless she is receptive to your feedback.  Sometimes I think they just want to figure it out themselves and they take instruction better from someone other than their spouse.  No doubt we all have the best of intentions, but sometimes I don't think they see it that way.  :pleased:

Well, I finally got home and today I got the parts to complete my lower for my new Sabre 204 Upper. I grabbed one of the leftover CMT lowers and put a Geissele HS Match Trigger in it. I have a scope ready for it, but I need to get some higher rings. Hopefully, I'll have those by the weekend and I can get out to do some testing. I must admit, a 26" barrel on an AR is loooonnnnggggg.

Please use the 223 (not FMJ as that is illegal) so when you do hit one it dies quickly.  You could probably use a 22, but why, it's not fair to the animal unless you have a perfectly placed shot.  Plus, if it is at any distance, you will just end up wounding it.  Some may disagree, but I am always looking for a humane kill.  Since you have a 223, use it.  Personally, I don't think a red dot is a great option for Coyote hunting though.  If possible, I would get at least a 3-9x scope to put on it.  It doesn't have to be expensive as a 223 doesn't have a lot of recoil and an AR decreases it even further.

  I agree to each is own, but I think a lot of people miss out on some really great things around the US and world with that mentality.  Saying NYC is just a bunch of big buildings is like saying the Great Wall is just some stone, the Eiffel Tower is just some metal, and Taj Majal is just a big house.  I agree, nature is beautiful and there are a lot of great nature places to visit in this country and around the world, but I would encourage everyone to take the time if they have it to appreciate some of the things man has built as well.  If you are able and have the resources, visit the ruins of Greece and Rome, go to Venice, check out Machu Picchu.  In the US, check out the Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Rushmore, Washington D.C., or many other places.  I completely understand not enjoying big crowds, but there is some impressive stuff out there if you will take the time to look.  I admit I have been very fortunate to visit many places around the world so maybe I have a different perspective.  You may hate D.C., but everyone should go to Arlington National Cemetary (technically not D.C. I know).  It will humble even the most cantankerous person.
