There's a part of me that just can't go this far and still consider it a fair hunt (not saying anyone here would do this while actively hunting, but we know there is some idiot out there that would). I don't mind if someone else wants to do it to scout I suppose, I just feel like hunting isn't really hunting anymore. Some of the best parts for me is doing the ground work and trying come up with a plan. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and that's ok.

That press will work great. That or the RCBS Rockchucker. Lots of info on presses in some other threads. You will get a 1000 opinions for every question, but in general, it will no doubt serve you well. The Rockchucker at Cabela's is probably a better deal right now. On sale for $300 plus a $50 rebate. http://www.cabelas.com/product/RCBSreg-Rock-Chucker-Supreme-Master-Reloading-Kit/1324071.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Drcbs%2Brock%2Bchucker%2Bsupreme%2Bmaster%2Breloading%2Bkit%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=rcbs+rock+chucker+supreme+master+reloading+kit&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products Or if you want is asap, Amazon also has it for $300, although now you will have to pay tax. I would go Cabela's.

BATF publishes NFA processing times
Hozzie replied to Hershmeister's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I can't imagine anyone not e-filing now just due to the wait although I expect that to go up more and more as well. Yes, you need a trust, but well worth it if you have one. (I say that as I just put in for an SBR and new Suppressor in the last two weeks via e-file). I hope it stays at 3-4 months for e-files... -
I am Global Entry so I have it as well. If you fly a lot, it is well worth $85. If you travel internationally often, Global Entry is well worth it as well, but it is a bit more expensive and there isn't an office at BNA. I had to fly to Detroit for my interview. I haven't spent more than 5 minutes getting through passport control in a long time.
Ive run into one or two idiots with vertical grips on their pistol versions of rifles. And as far as why, would you want to be the range owner and have someone accidentaly hurt someone with an illegal gun - i guarantee you'd be suffering from a civil suit suggesting some liability. You may win, but having good policies is smart business.
If I was a range owner I wouldn't want anyone to hurt anyone with any gun. I don't expect it to make any difference in a lawsuit, especially since every range I have seen requires a waiver of liability, although we know what that's worth. In the end, they are welcome to ask and I am welcome to go elsewhere if I don't like their rules. I'm ok with that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just saw one at bass pro near the reloading supplies a few days ago when I was there. It is made by Hornady specifically for the LNL press, but I am sure it would work on a Dillon just fine as shown.
-
I mostly agree, but it really isn't their issue. They aren't going to jail for letting you shoot it. I can see no machine guns or some policy like that if their range can't handle it, but if they want my suppressor paperwork, too bad. I guess it's easy to say that because I have plenty of private property to shoot on so it will never be an issue for me. Besides, who in their right mind would take an illegal NFA item to a range? I guess there is always that one guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Asked by range personnel or law enforcement? I carry my paperwork with me as well, but I sure wouldn't be showing it to some range officer because they decided they are the PoPo for the day.

I think you will find mixed reviews about ATI parts in general. I think it comes down to if you want to deal with having to track down every piece yourself or are more comfortable with getting a kit and knowing you have what you need. You can probably create a better overall quality AR by careful selection of parts for the same money. I took the chance with mine to go ahead and jump into the details and learn what each part was so I would be more familiar in general with AR's. I am not a big AR guy, but I enjoy the "building" aspect of it. If you are like me, I end up spending twice as much as I intended because I always go for the best value, which isn't always the cheapest. I want high quality for a good price, leaning typically towards the higher end products just because I typically go for buy once, cry once. You should be able to find a barrel for less than $200 though. With that said, that kit will probably do everything you want it to. If you have the time and energy, I think it is worth picking out each part and having the satisfaction you built it yourself. It will require a couple of tools you may not have, so that may add to the cost a little, but there are others around typically willing to help. If you do happen to decide to go the kit route, let me know if you are interested in selling your CMT Upper and BCG. I bought an extra lower not sure what I was going to do with it, but now would like to have another upper that matches it as I am turning it into an SBR and am going to build another upper for it. I guess in short, I think you can get everything you need or finish it for $500 pretty easily.

Just one pistol right now. Have in for an SBR stamp so I can put a buttstock on it at some point. Probably the only one I will have since I am really only interested in subsonic work with it to play with the suppressors.

Glad to see you on here Robert. Welcome to the group. He has also handled my three suppressors and done a great job. Jamie

I have always liked Kahrs, I just can't get passed the trigger. If they could shorten it up or something they would have me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NYSAFE Anti-gun activist busted for carrying a gun into school
Hozzie replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
So let me get this straight, he's in the school armed, they lock the school down and he heards his kids in to the cafeteria and locks the door to protect them. At no time during any of this does he remember ha has a firearm? Why does he carry a firearm? If that sequence of events didnt trigger a response in his brain he has no business carrying a firearm. They would throw the book at me, even if I "Forgot," they should do the same to him.
I suspect he didn't forget about it. I figure he panicked and hoped that since he was well known they might not search him and he could get out without anyone knowing it was him. I am guessing if he would have let the police know as soon as he realized what had happened that it wouldn't have escalated as high and probably would have been shoved under the rug by those not wanting to look like a bunch of idiots.
same here. i hope they get stuck with the high price ammo. you can not eat it.
I think your assumption may be a bit wrong. If they are buying at Walmart for relatively cheap and trying to resell high, they aren't really stuck with it. In my view, they just end up having a lot of ammo at the best price you can find it. If they do sell it, it's better for them. Kind of a win-win if your into reselling. That's not I say I like what they are doing, but I don't think they will be hurt by inventory coming up. Yes, they won't make as much, but they still have a valuable commodity which will not lose value. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good Comparison of 308/7.62 Cans
Hozzie replied to Hozzie's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I think the M2 is a good value as well. It just so happened the dealer I use had the Specwar in stock and made the difference in price minimal or I too probably would have gotten one if the M2's from Mike. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I have been looking at 308/7.62 cans for a while and finally ordered one. I found this test to be beneficial and others may find it usefull as well. I did select the SWR Specwar 7.62, not just because it was the best in these tests, but everything I have read on them has been great and the price was right for me. I also know Silencerco is a good company. The little extra size and weight of the Specwar doesn't really bother me, but it may some. I think they are probably all good cans, but if you are looking for a 308 can, this is probably worth a watch. I do agree with something Mike posted in another thread and that is that numbers don't tell the whole tail. I am hoping mine is as good as the reviews make it out to be. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=XWo0JGqWw7w

Guns and Leather had the Specwar 762 in stock so I went ahead and ordered it. I will just powdercoat my lead bullets if I want to shoot some through it. This one will be e-Filed so I will be interested to see how long it takes.
-
I agree, but the Specwar has excellent numbers. I have the guardian 9 I can use with 300 blk, so I don't have to have a take apart, but it would be nice. Maybe I can ask silencer shop to do a comparison. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am very familiar with suppressors. It is between an SWR Specwar 7.62 or Kestrel 308. If the SWR came apart, it wouldn't be a question, but I will probably shoot some lead through either one. Not a lot, but some. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
How do you like the Kestrel? I have their Guardian 9 and a Guardian 22 SS that should be here in a couple of months. I am debating getting one of their Kestrel 308's and possible use it as well on 5.56.

Anyone else been following this Liberal BS in Colorado?
Hozzie replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
They have already reversed course, but of course are making excuses. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/02/04/administrators-reverse-ban-on-american-celebration-at-high-school/?intcmp=latestnews Kudo's to the Sheriff and others of that county who stood out in the cold to show their support for the students and country. -
Not sure what my first one is, but I got one of the extras and it is 154 (I think, not in front of them at the moment). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
