Latest Class III: Guesses on Wait Time
Hozzie replied to Semiauto's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I got one form 4 back on Thursday. Mailed May 17th, pending July 27th, Not sure when approved, but notified it was ready for pickup on Mar 27th. 10 months... Waiting on a Form 1 E-filed on Feb 2nd and another Form 4 e-Filed around Feb 10th. Hopefully those will be completed by July. -
I have a 9mm STI Trojan that I really like. I would recommend them highly.
-
I wish I had known this. I would have got a stainless as well. oh well, already got my shipping notification and it will be here Thursday. I like blue too, so not a big deal.

The Saddle Shop in Triune. I use them for all of my transfers.

I didn't even need this, but for $400 after rebate, I figured what the heck. http://www.cdnnsports.com/email-specials/para-ordnance-1911-45acp-5-bl-expert-fo-frt-2-8rd.html#.UzHAmvldW_g I didn't even look up reviews, but I don't hear a lot of bad things about Para 1911's. And for the price I am not too worried about. The last price at Buds shows $543.

Illinois school workbook changes the 2nd Amendment.
Hozzie replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I hear this a lot, but in reality it just isn't that easy to do for a lot of people. Yes, you can argue it is a choice. I won't disagree, but that is not the issue. The issue that needs to be fixed is the school systems interpreting things how they see fit. Taking every kid out won't fix the root cause. It just moves it to another area. Parents need to demand that the constitution be taught as written. Parents do have the power to change things, unfortunately most don't want to be bothered to do so. -
Let the piece of shit rot.

They will ask for the SN, your name, and which FFL is doing the transfer. Mike is correct, all you will get is when it went pending. You probably have another 7-8 months to go.
Never heard of them before this thread, but based on this.................... Shipping cost start at for firearms & goes up from there depending on location: Hand Gun: Call for pricing Long Gun: $1.00 - $500 = $30 $500- $1,000 = $40 $1,000 & up call for shipping cost Shipping prices are absolutely ridiculous. Oh, so you want to order a rifle that costs $1500, no problem. Go directly to rip-off shipping charges, do not pass go.
Before judging them, you may want to actually compare the total price to your ffl vs the others. I will put my money on them in most cases. Also, go find another store that has 50-60 Coopers and Dakota's in stock and out to look at. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For those worried, just call Whittakers and get a better price and still no taxes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
here is a good reference for how to do this in a Titan. I think the same principles would apply for most vehicles. http://www.titantalk.com/forums/titan-faq-howto-area/141742-how-quick-easy-center-console-hidden-gun-mount.html
I did mine exactly like in the post above and it works great. It is concealed and I can lock the center console if needed. The center console lid flips away from the driver so it is very easy and convenient to get to. I did it before I saw this, but essentially used the same principle with a slightly different holster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thank you from all animal lovers. Dogs truly are man's best friend.

No worries. I am not really wound up, but I think the stereotype that I refer to does in fact exist for most people who aren't from this area.
-
Not sure I follow. I wasn't referring to EW. I was referring to the stereotype that people from Franklin/Brentwood all have too much money to have any sense. I don't really care what EW charges for their ammo. People can decide to shop there or not on their own.
-
I didn't confirm anything. The implication by the posts before me that people have money (apparently because they simply live in Franklin/Brentwood) and therefore don't care or are too stupid to know they are paying too much for anything was the intent of the previous statement. Me saying that some do well financially doesn't confirm that stereotype one bit.
-
I love this stereotype. Do many of us do ok finanically, sure. I think you will find that many of us are as discriminating as anyone when it comes to guns and ammo. The people that are buying the ammo at this price aren't "gun" people. They are simply people who have a gun and may happen to have a little more money (or not). It's the same in Franklin, Nashville, Knoxville, or anywhere else. By this standard, everyone who lives in or near Memphis is a drug dealing murderer.

I don't know if anyone else was aware of this, but if you go to http://smile.amazon.com, you can select a charity for which Amazon will give a 0.5% donation based on the amount of your purchase. There are a lot of options. I received a notice from the Middle TN Boxer Rescue that they are a part of it, but there are many others. I will use this from now on and select a local charity for giving. It doesn't cost anymore so why not. I know many of us buy a lot off of Amazon and thought this would be good to share.

This reminds me, I need to call and check on one of my form 4's. It should be close.
-
Thanks Gordon. My loaded rounds are at .332-.333 and the fired rounds are .335, so that appears to be ok. I am going to check my case OAL. I cut them about 1.355, but that may still be a bit long, or my die wasn't down far enough. I can easily try to rectify that and test again. Thanks for the feedback.
-
They seemed to chamber ok, but may have been a little tight. I loaded the rounds to 2.245 so just under the max oal. I think I just need to do some testing with various things and figure out what the real issue is. I am sure I will figure it out.
-
I don't think so. If the neck is too thick, I think the same thing will happen, but it would be worth a try I suppose. I only loaded 20 rounds as I wanted to Chrono them, but I didn't even get that far.
-
No, but I could try that if not using the expander makes them cycle. I have some other brass I am going to try as well. I cut these down myself and sized them, so we'll see if there is a difference. Shouldn't be, but you never know. I am certain the OAL of my brass is ok.
-
Hornady to size, Lyman Neck Expanding, Hornady Bullet Seating, and Lee Factory Crimp Die. I am using the Missouri Bullet 245gr bullets as I am looking to only do subsonic work. I may try some without using the neck expanding die, but the bullets certainly load easier with it.
-
Unfortunately, I tried adjusting it while we were out shooting. I think it is more of a case of the brass just being a bit too big around the neck. I will just have to mess with it some and see what I can figure out. It gives me something to mess with so not a huge deal...yet.
