  1. Welcome.  I use Picasa to host my pictures, but any of them will work.
  2.  I have some 1 pound bags as well.  I may do that.
  3.   I don't have a Mosin.  Not really a historical military firearms guy in general.  I do have a few 1911's, but I don't think they will have any idea of the difference.  I figure the Glock would be pretty easy shooting for all of them and I have plenty of ammo for it.  I have my Sig I carry in my truck so I can pull that out as well if they want to try another.  I figure it will take a while to get through what I already have as I will only be allowing them to shoot one at a time and with me next to them to make sure they don't hurt themselves or anyone else.
  4. Good suggestion, I'll do that with the watermelon
  5. It's not a collector so if you don't shoot it, I see no issue with selling it.  There are a lot of 22's out there.  If you decide later you want another, there will be plenty to choose from.  If it was a Winchester 52C that may be another matter.
  6. I know we all talk about taking non-shooters out to shoot and expose them to the fun of shooting.  Well, today is my day with a bit of a twist.  I work for my companies Belgian office and they all know I am big into guns.  Our sales guy is over with his family for a few weeks on holiday and they are coming by today.  He has 3 sons (12,16, and 19) and all they have been talking about is wanting to come shoot, so I am going to take them out for a day I expect they won't forget for a long time.   It's actually hard to determine what to take when someone has never shot anything so I figured I would take a little of everything.  I am going with;   Handguns S&W 617 Ruger Mark III Hunter Ruger GP100 Glock 34   Rifles 10/22 - everyone should shoot a 10/22 sometime in their life. S&W MP15 with Suppressor - they will get their AR fix Cooper 22-250 - This is our 100 yard target gun and for shooting tomatoes off of stands Browing X-Bolt 300 WSM -  I figure they need to feel the thump of something a little bigger (for the older two boys)   And some clays and a Remington 870 20 gauge.     I also have a 2lb explosive to shoot which I will put a watermelon on.     I don't think this will be a day these boys will soon forget.  Anything glaring that is missing that you think I should expose them to (if I have it)?  I will try to get some pictures and post them later this evening.
  7. I probably would have called the cops and had him checked out.  If nothing else, he probably wouldn't come back unless he was really meant to be there.  I also have a big dog so I don't think he would have tried to come in, but I also probably wouldn't have even considered letting him use my phone if he was suspicious at all.
  8. Did you check Numerich? http://www.gunpartscorp.com/
  9. But the part it screws into doesn't spin?  If that is the case, something is definitely odd.  I can see if the part it screws into also turning that it wouldn't back out.  Maybe take a small dowl or something that fits just inside the "nut" area that will only push on the bolt itself.  Put it on a counter and push down on the dowl with the gun while trying to turn the screw.  You may want to put some Kroil or or other penetrating oil on the nut area first and let it sit for a few hours to help loosen it up a bit.
  10. Does the female threaded end spin as well when you turn the screw?  If not, put something thin between the grip and the frame and pry up slightly as you are turning the bolt.  If it does spin, then the grip on that side may just pry off if you take it easy.
  11. I have a Harley, but that is funny  :D
  12. Glad she is home. Makes you wonder what they were doing all day while out and about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I hope she isn't too far from the house and that she finds her way home tonight.  If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.  If it is coming to look around the neighborhood, I would be glad to.
  14. Can't beat Whittaker's on most things. Great place to do business. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. You can use it at a but stick as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17.   I think within the last year or so unless it is just they haven't been making many.  You can still find a few NIB out there, but they are getting pricier and pricier.  I was glad to find this one which is pre-lock.
  18. So I went to meet a seller today to pickup the Smith 617 we agreed on. I have been looking at them for a few years and kick myself for not getting one before they quit making them. The prices kept going up, so I finally decided I better get one before it gets any worse. So I check it out and all looks good so I give him the cash and take the gun. Before I leave, he mentions he has something he thinks I would like to see so he pulls out another S&W box. Inside is a Smith 648 which is also no longer made. At first I thought he was just showing it to me as he knew I like small caliber Smith's, but he said he would also sell it if I was interested. Needless to say I ended up coming home with two new (to me) revolvers. I have a 4" 686, but I may have to get a 6" to make a set. Now just to find some nice wood combat grips, I just can't stand the black hogue grips.
  19. I'm not really a knife guy, but that is a very good looking knife. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. If I ever get to the point I need to eat an Armadillo, I will probably take the easy way out and eat a bullet instead. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. We are fortunate to have a lot of nice courses in Middle TN.  My favorite is probably Greystone, but I also like President's Reserve.  The new course in Spring Hill is pretty decent as well.   Right now I am using Nike Slingshots, Vokey Wedges, and a Nike putter.  Had Titleist 990's before that.   I don't play enough now to worry about being good, but I still like to get out every now and again.
  22. I must be pretty lucky. While their shipping is high, I have never had an issue with it changing. I use them when I can use the coupons and shipping is always fast and usually to me in a few days. Sorry you have such bad luck with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. This has a 22" barrel and comes with a scope. http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/product/78128/redirect Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  25. Call me a cynic, but I suspect that rifle of the year came with a hefty donation. I am not saying it is a bad rifle, but I wouldn't let that sway me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
