Thinking about a 22 magnum rifle.....tell me about yours
Hozzie replied to gregintenn's topic in Long Guns
I have a complete KIDD Supergrade in 22lr, so I would probably go with the magnum. I have a stock 10/22 as well, so this would just be something a little different and fun to do as a project. Thanks for the offer. I may still take you up on it. The other guys may want to go with a 22lr. I will let you know. -

Interesting. I think I am going to do that. I will get a couple of buddy's to order them too and we can split the cost of the jig and other items need to align everything. This will make for a fun and good build/accuracy test against each other. We are always looking for ways to have a good time competing. What a better way than to each build our own rifles from an 80% receiver. -
Luke, you are being played and this time it is going to hurt even worse. So neither of you can get out and get a job, I find that hard to believe. She can work at McDonalds, but why would she do that when she can sponge off of your grandparents generosity. Of course she wants to go to counseling, she wants a roof over her head while she continues to dupe you into thinking she loves you and you believing there is still a chance. It reminds me of the line in Dumb and Dumber (wasn't planning on a pun, but it seems to fit) and that is "Your chances of winning the lottery are 1 in 250 million. Response, so you mean we still have a chance!". Answer, No you don't. Sorry to be blunt, but now is the time for some tough love. I wish I knew your grandparents. I would probably tell them to throw both of you out. I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt, but to David's point earlier, you set your own path on this one. At least kick her to the curb and save some of your self-respect. There will be none left soon.

Amen! Hence my comment about if he doesn't figure it out then there is no helping him. Then the dog pile will get real deep, real fast.

I got my Specwar 7.62 from Guns and Leather in Greenbriar. Give Robert a call. They may have something to test, but not sure. They had a SS Sparrow in stock last time I was there as well. Also, get a trust and E-File for the Form 1 and give it a little time and E-File your form 4's when they come back online. G&L supports E-File.

I am not usually the voice of reason, but I suspect we have all made our point. To me it feels like we are now piling on a bit. I think Luke has gotten the idea by now (and if not, then there is no helping him). Not trying to say don't give good advice, things to consider, etc, but I think we have covered the leave now aspect pretty thoroughly.

This is all you need to know, you aren't #1 or quite honestly probably not #2 either. If you live with her and it is her place, move out. If it's your place and you can't afford it now without her, move out. Hopefully you have some family and/or friends to lean on, but don't lean on or just stick around because she may be able to support you. Get your ducks in a row and get the hell away from her asap.

2 MNPO discussing confiscation. Law officers please comment.

You have been a member since 2011. You now have 3 posts. We are a skeptical bunch. While your question may be sincere, we get our fair share of "instigators" coming in with no previous posts who just want to create chaos. I would recommend that you join in the discussions and earn some respect within the group. We will probably then be a little more apt to respond with a sincere response. To your question, ignorance doesn't prevent you from being a cop. In the end, most will do what they are told unless it is so egregious even Stevie Wonder can see it's wrong. -
"She" had to do it. I have worked with/for her agency in DC. She actually seemed pretty reasonable. Haven't followed her closely though.

I won't pile in, but also having been in the "cheated on" group, have a very serious retrospective look at your relationship. It's hard to "see" the signs and even harder to accept them when you are involved and want to believe the best. I agree that it's highly likely your fiancé gave off signals he interpreted either rightly or wrongly. Either way, the signals should never have been given. I would say have a serious talk with her, but to be honest she can probably convince you that everything is fine. Take advice from everyone here. Have a serious discussion with yourself. I think you will come to the right answer if you are truthful with yourself. Best of luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went with the SWR Specwar 7.62. I am very happy with it as well. It is also a quick attach using the SWR flash hiders. There is a good video below in this section which compares many if the ones mentioned in this thread. Look for the "Comparison of 308" thread. I am on my phone and don't know of any easy way to post the link. It isn't too far down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you can find a one in good shape I think these are still one of Browning best looking bolt guns. This is from when checkering was good. This is my A-Bolt. -

There are a lot of options. Are you into wood or synthetic? Classic or more tactitool and price range? My favorite two are my Browning A-bolt and CZ 452 Full Stock. I think the magnum round is probably one of the most underrated calibers out there. I have a cheap Savage 93r17 which is a 17hmr, but I wouldn't mind having a 22 mag version of it either. -
Any smallbore/rimfire matches around Nashville?

Thanks, I am looking more for a true target type of match, not that the steel matches aren't fun. -

I have never participated in any Rimfire competitions outside of bragging rights with friends. I am interested in trying out a rimfire match if there are any around Middle TN. I have considered getting a competition Anschutz if I really like it, but for now I will use either my Winchester 52 or Remington 40x and would really like to just try it out. I am more into peep sights, but any class would work for now. I have plenty of 22 options even if it is 3p type shooting. I just really like rimfires and want to give it a go. Does anyone know of any local matches in the Middle TN area? -
You may call Numerich and see if they know when they will be back in stock. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Products/301670A.htm

I bought a few thousand rounds just after Newtown at MidSouth Shooters for $9/50. That was for Hornady 30gr and CCI maxi mags. Glad I got them when I did. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He deactivated the add. I think he was also dumb enough to put his number on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nope, but too many people today don't respect anything or anyone else. Sounds like they needed a good dose of reality. Maybe next time they won't be so fast to ignore a sign.

STI Spartan. I have the 5" Trojan. Great guns. http://www.stiguns.com/the-sti-spartan-iv/

I am one of those people who have no interest in a Mosin. A friend has one and it just beats the crap out of you and you can barely hit the side of a barn with it. I just don't get it. I'll leave them for those of you who really like them. I'll stick to the old target 22's like the Winchester 52's and Remington 40x's. Those are my types of guns.

Phew, what a day. 5 hours of shooting and watching the smiles on all of their faces. They liked the tannerite, but they really liked shooting tomatoes at 100 yards with the 22-250. They would giggle each time one of them would shoot and one of the tomatoes would vaporize. They also liked shooting at the clays. All in all a great day. I am too tired to put up pictures and I still need to at least wipe my guns down, but you couldn't have asked for a much nicer day for shooting.
