I go to Flowers as well. I thought C&F was way high and i can't imagine any better deer sticks that I got from Flowers. This year I will give mine to Hunters for the hungry. I just don't eat enough deer to make it worthwhile and there are others who could use the meat.

You need to become a vendor. Can't just join and start advertising although we are always up for a good new range.

Right now, IMR4227, but I will also start some with 1680. I am shooting them in an 8.5" barrel with Pistol gas system.

I have a 1000 non coated sitting here and just haven't got around to doing much with them. I loaded 20 test rounds and have only shot 5 of those before I realized I didn't have the shoulders bumped down enough. I fixed that and still need to get back out and do some testing. I did powdercoat some of mine though since I will be putting them through a suppressor after I make sure they aren't tumbling.

I still think a handgun safety course is different from the HCP class. I think I would recommend he call TDOS and confirm one way or the other. I know my course really had nothing to do with handgun safety, but rather more about the laws, when it was legal to use force, etc. A safety course is something completely different for me, but I have been wrong before. If Safety=HCP class in this case, then at least he would save a little money.

I don't think so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think the only way to get a good deal on guns at a pawn shop is if you are a regular. A buddy of mines dad goes on a route once a week to multiple stores. They know him well and he has found some really great buys. He is looking for more collectible stuff most of the time. I think if you are Joe Schmoe just stopping in they probably aren't looking to deal as much. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No, you don't exchange, you have to go through the whole process here. It's basically the same as never having a permit in TN. You have to go to the HCP class, pay the $115, get fingerprints, etc. The handgun safety course is not the same as the HCP class.

Welcome Tom. I think you will find a lot of useful (and some not so useful :pleased: ) information on TGO. To your point above, your Texas CHL is only good for 6 months from when you become a resident, so you will have to get your Tennessee HCP if you plan to stay longer than that.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like the judge is being a jackass on this. Hopefully all of these signatures will help.

I agree. I will just use an app on my iPhone for the remote. I will be watching midwayusa for one of their $xx off of $yyy deals. Sometimes they don't exclude them. I am impatient so I will probably give it a week or so and just order it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have been researching this since you posted it earlier. I think I am going with the GoPro 4 silver as well. I hate to spend the extra $150 over the Sony AS100V that I like, but I think in the end it is the better action cam.
-
I have been considering getting an action camera for a while now myself. This thread may push me to do it. I did a quick search for 2014 reviews and found this comparison. I haven't looked at all details yet, but it seems to not bash any of them. http://gizmodo.com/the-best-action-camera-spring-2014-edition-1547049331

If the kid wasn't near a home and looked lost, yes I would help that kid find his home. I bet you would to. Or just leave him to fend for himself for a few days? Again this isn't a black and white issue. I don't know what the guy was thinking when he picked up the dog and neither does anyone else. It could have been for every right reason. I would be glad my dog (or kid) was alive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Or the dog could be dead from many things. There isn't a 100% right or wrong answer here. This place is getting to be like FOX vs MSNBC. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't see much difference acutally other than the profits go to a primary owner(s) in TN. This isn't affecting the little man so to speak. I suspect the supply chain isn't much different between a grocery store and the private business so I don't see a huge issue as that money is going to the same place. As Erik stated, it seems to me that in places where both exist, the liquor/wine stores still do pretty well. For me it is about convenience. I don't see a big enough issue to not approve it. I just wish I had the right to vote for it. Because I live in unincorporated Franklin I can't even vote on it. Mike, I realize you are close to the situation, but I think people are more worried about making it easier for themselves vs. giving a most likely well off owner a bit more money. I know a few people who own liquor stores and none of them are hurting. I don't think this will make or break them. In many ways this is exactly equivalent to the buy online vs. LGS argument or even using amazon vs local stores. People always go for convenience and price most of the time.

This is me to a T and hence partially my question. I think I have decided not to go the crossbow route, but I will probably start to look for a new bow. I am sure mine will do just fine so who knows, maybe I will have an epiphany and realize it would just be a waste of money.
-
I tend to agree with you. I got my old bow out and shot it for the first time in a long time. First shot at 20 yards was right on even after all of this time. I think I am just going to use it and enjoy being in the woods. After I looked up the specs, with its 70lb pull, the arrow speed is still pretty fast overall. I am sure it will kill anything I can hit with it.

Not a big deal, but I don't live there. I just saw it on the Channel 4 website and thought it was ridiculous.

For $80, just pay it and don't even worry about it. You will have your dog back and that is what matters. I would pay multiple times that if my dog went missing, whether it was purposeful or not. You don't have to like the guy, but at least your dog is alive.

This is in Dyersburg and just goes to show the stupidity of our local governments sometimes. I know we have a lot of dog lovers on here and think most would agree that this is just ridiculous. Short story is this dog, "Beau", killed a neighbors pet duck when it wandered onto Beau's property. They now want to euthanize Beau for being a "vicious" dog. They also want to charge the owner a bunch of fees for keeping him. He has a short reprieve, but hopefully this will help. God help them if this was my dog and they tried to pull this. https://www.change.org/p/city-government-of-dyersburg-tennesee-mayor-john-holden-save-beau-s-life-and-return-him-to-his-owner-with-no-fees

Edit: Found Kahrmans post asking essentially the same thing I ask below. I usually do a search, sorry about that. So I haven't been hunting with a bow in quite a while. I still have my Browning Backdraft split limb, but it is 14 years old. I actually took it to The Archers Den last year before season to have them check it out and make sure the strings were ok and everything checked out fine, but I didn't end up hunting. I am thinking again now of getting a back out with a bow. So, as is my usual persuasion, when I decide to do something like this that I haven't done in a long time and I know my equipment is older, I start to look into getting an updated bow. I have also looked at a few crossbows and can't really decide if I was to do something, which makes the most sense. A crossbow to me seems like it would be much less challenging and it seems to me part of the fun of bow hunting is the bigger challenge. But, having not ever shot one, I don't know if that is actually true. For those of you big (or even not so big) into bow hunting, what is your opinion. Even though my bow is old, it will probably still get the job done, but I will probably buy something one way or the other. Which would you recommend and why? I figure I would spend around $600 for either, so any good recommendations in that price range? Or should I just use my Browning and not worry about it? I actually have a good hunting area now and just bought a new ladder stand so now just to do some practicing and get back our there in a week or so. Thanks for any input.

Thanks for the link. Info with facts and background on who is pushing what. Hard to find these days.

I saw Jessie Jackson with one of the guys relatives leaving the hospital. Maybe there is a possible bright side to this after all......

Proposed Amendment 1 - What does it actually do?

For me, it is just a backhanded way to try and ban abortion. If you believe in banning abortion, vote 1. If you don't, vote 2. It's pretty well as simple as that. They advertise it as a way to make sure the clinics are safe, etc, but that is just pandering to the ignorant who aren't smart enough to figure out the bigger picture goal. I don't believe in banning abortion, I just wish those who would like to would just be up front enough to say it and not try to disguise what they are trying to do.
