  1. I have no internal debate going on. I am perfectly content in my beliefs, they're actually very simple. I just really do wonder sometimes how religious people reconcile these items which I personally find contradictory. As mentioned before, we aren't going t solve this here. It is just a discussion.
  2. Yep, I think 308 fits the bill here.
  3.   I like that way of putting it.  It won't change how I feel about it, but I can at least respect the idea.
  4.   Agree on item 1 for sure.  That applies to anything. For the second, My next question would be if you are a true believer, then why do you care if you get executed, you would be going to heaven, no?   Without throwing circumstances for murder into the situation, I just can't reconcile anyone being forgiven of some of these crimes.  I guess I am too cynical to believe the I got caught and now I'm sorry routine so they think they will be forgiven.     I guess it doesn't matter what I think if you believe as I am not the judge, but I feel like it is a bit of an easy way out.
  5. So I will probably get crucified for this as apparently I am the resident anti-Christ, but I have a serious question.   If you were asked and you really believe, why would not say it?  Wouldn't whatever happened after that be God's will as many would like to say.  If you are true believer, it seems there is no choice, no?   Don't get me wrong, I completely understand someone saying No if they thought it would keep them alive, but as some have suggested, that may not be the scriptural thing to do.  I would guess some will say, God will understand and forgive you, but that is what I guess bothers me.  Seems to me you can know what you should do and not do it and in the end, it doesn't matter.  Really, some would say you can do anything and if you truly repent, then God will forgive you.  I guess I just see that as too easy of an out.   Let's be clear, I would tell anyone to say whatever keeps them alive, but it is these issues where I really see some of the most vocal religious voices (not talking specifically on here, but just in general) as hypocritical.
  6. Sorry to hear that. I am assuming this was on public land? My dad had his swiped on tva land last year in KY. I would get a box that screws into the tree and lock it. It's like a gun safe, it's a deterrent. Someone dedicated to stealing it will take it. I have been lucky with mine I guess, but I am on Private property. Not that people don't trespass and still steal them.
  7. Leroy, at the end of the day, I figure we both don't really give a crap what one of us thinks about the other personally. I think you are taking me out of context and you think you have me pegged. We will both go on doing what we do and giving our opinions. I am good with that. Have a good evening.
  8. I don't get your ramblings, but I do agree to disagree. As to you believing I am anti-Christian, that's your opinion. I am ok with that. I don't think I am anti-Christian and I suspect if you talk to anyone (who is a Christian) who knows me they would back me up, and most likely tell you I act more Christian than most Christians. I am not against religion, I am against hypocrisy. Not believing in a God doesn't mean hating religion as you would like to imply.
  9. Not sure if that is directed at me because I started the thread and used the term hypocrite, but I find it completely ridiculous and offensive. Yep, I don't believe in any God. So what? The issue with Ramsey isn't his use of the term Christian. In fact it never crossed my mind as an issue to be honest. I called him a hypocrite because he wants to imply that everyone should get an hcp, yet politically blocks laws to help anyone attending a college from carrying. That is the only hypocrisy I was speaking about. If anything, I think your response does feed one of my biggest issues with any religion. They always have to be the victim. Edited: I guess I should say it isn't just religion, everyone has to be a victim nowadays and it pisses me off to no end.
  10. That was my point. He's a hypocrite.
  11. Maybe we need to all bombard him now with his hypocracy on 2A and being able to carry anywhere.   http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2015/10/03/tennessee-lt-gov-ron-ramsey-says-fellow-christians-should-arm-themselves/?intcmp=hpbt2
  12. Funny, and I just learned something. Tapatalk apparently doesn't scrub bad words from the unread posts in the preview window. Only after you open it. When I saw it, I laughed and then was surprised it actually showed it. I hope it stays. :-)
  13. Yep, Spader is great.   LIked him ever since Boston Legal.
  14. That is what I am waiting for too.  I expect the immediate response from the anti-gun crowd as it was, but we have no idea if these were legally obtained or not.   The issue will be, did he obtain them from an individual without a background check legally, or did he buy them from a store, or were they a family members, etc.     I am also curious as to if he had ever been treated for mental illness.  There is a lot to be determined yet.
  15. I don't. But I would say it doesn't matter no matter the religion if he did in fact ask about it. I don't think an atheist would ask. There is also a difference between being of a certain faith and committing a crime in the name of that faith. I was simply saying assume by the odds, but you are correct, it shouldn't matter. Only that they did it in the name of their faith is the issue.
  16. I hate to say it, but if that is true, it may be the only saving grace for the gun discussion. It will certainly focus on the religious aspect assuming the killer was Muslim.
  17. I spend quite a bit of time in Belgium and Luxembourg.  I guess I need to start looking a little closer at things.  Heck, even if I found something, the cost to get it to the US (if you even could) would be ridiculous.
  18. Yeah, I saw that.  Terrible.  Hopefully they catch the scumbag(s).
  19. Completely agree Garufa. My only issue in this thread is blaming him directly for his own death. I don't get that.
  20. Caster, while we are both pretty black and white kinda guys, I will have to disagree with you somewhat.  No one is saying an accident doesn't have fault. although in some cases it doesn't.  The definition of "accident" is:   "an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury."   I can already here you say it wasn't unexpected since they were wreckless, etc, but it was certainly unintentional; and I would argue unexpected.   You can blame the driver all you want, I am with you on that, but to say it is Paul's fault for getting in the car, we can agree to disagree.   Kind of like a tire blowing out on you car and your kid dying in the wreck.  Is that not an accident or is that your fault since you were driving?  I don't think anyone reasonable would say that would be your fault.  Yes, someone can take it to the Nth degree why a tire blew out, but sometimes, shit just happens.
  21. This. Mike and Tracy are good people.
  22. There are no advertisements on Picasawed by Google.  Not sure what other Google service there is that does photosharing that you may have seen advertisements, but I have never had an advertisement.
  23. I think we are on the same page.  It was some other comments I was referring to.
  24. Man you guys are rough.   I don't expect he got in the car thinking, boy this thing is probably going to crash and kill me.  I have been in race cars as a passenger.  I wouldn't consider myself stupid.     Accidents happen.  Again, I am not saying Porsche is responsible, but I am not going to say it's his fault either for simply taking a ride in a car, even if it was a super Porsche.    I would guess most here have done many things dumber than this.  I know I have.  We were just lucky to live I guess. Whew....
  25. This is a really good article by John Stossel.  I wish everyone could see it so clearly.   http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/09/30/america-home-free-land-victim.html?intcmp=hpbt4
