  1. I expect last, but certainly not least (looking at my gifts) is me. I was out of the country from the 15th and just got my mail. What a surprise and absolutely incredible gift! I want to thank my Secret Santa for the extremely generous gifts. It is a real testament to this community (I use that word very purposefully) when looking back through this thread. Needless to say, I am already looking forward to next year. While I understand not everyone can give more, I will be paying it forward even more next year. I have to say, I get more out of giving than receiving these days. Thanks again to my SS. This is really one of the best gifts I have been given.
  2. I just left at 11:00. Should have checked TGO before leaving. Have fun.
  3. I bought myself a Henry Golden Boy 22. Walmart had a good deal that even with tax beat the best price I found online.
  4. Lucky me has a flight from ATL to Nashhville at 3:50. Hopefully we can get up and land before major delays.
  5. I put in a SportDog at my parents.  Works great.  Not sure how much area you have, but my dad and I rigged up a tooth from his box blade to the hitch receiver on my four wheeler and used a spool to simply drive through the yard and install it.  We did about 2 acres in 30 minutes in some rough area.     One note, get a surge protector.  It will get struck by lighting at some point.   http://smile.amazon.com/SportDOG-Brand-SDF-100A--Ground-System/dp/B003P443C4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450669568&sr=8-1&keywords=sportdog+wireless+fence
  6. Depends on truck and options. That could easily be a great deal.
  7. Saw it tonight (in Europe). I thought it was excellent.
  8. I just got mine done on the right side above the trigger. May depend how long your trust name is if you have one. Mine is just abc trust with city and state under it. I would show a pic, but I am out of town.
  9. Just bought 1000rnd of Aguila 124gr 9mm for $200.  May not be the greatest ammo, but good enough for plinking.   https://www.targetsportsusa.com/aguila-9mm-ammo-124-gr-fmj-092110-p-3401.aspx
  10. Started hunting and shooting trap. Still hunt, still target shoot mostly. Have plenty for self defense, but it's not my primary reason.
  11. I would say that if you get offended because someone says Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays respectively, it is you with the problem.  When did we become a nation of weenie's on everything.
  12. For whomever has me, I am going to be out of town until after Christmas but rest assured your package will be ok until I get back. Just wanted to let you know in case you don't see it here right away. Merry Christmas.
  13. Haven't seen it or shot it. Not bad looking, but I think I would have to go for a Smith 617 if I was going for a 10 shot 22.
  14. I think a beam scale even for that purpose is perfect. Set it and you don't have to worry about calibrating here and there during use. An RCBS 505 scale would be perfect. I am way more confident in a beam scale than an electronic.
  15. If you don't think a truck or boat is worth it, don't buy it. I don't get why so many get so worked up over what someone else spends for a vehicle. Vehicles are expensive, yes. It's only going to get worse.
  16. Air movement can affect them. Shutting air vents in that area while you are reloading may help some. My RCBS beam scales work well and I would recommend one. I mostly load rifle so I use my electronic dispenser, but if I manually trickle, I always use my beam scale.
  17. Give him a call or PM him.  He is easy to work with.  I am guessing his price is in line with most others.   I was happy with mine and what I paid.
  18. I hope he does. I fully believe he will be swatted down very quickly.
  19. I am with Peace.  There just something intriguing  about a Fox that keeps me from killing one.  If it was a nuisance animal, ok, but I don't have a big desire to kill a fox.  I would love to see them gain in population where I would think of it more about population control.
  20. If the penalty for burglary was death, I bet we would have a lot less burglaries.  I am sick and tired of excuses for people.  I did some stupid things as a kid, but never would I consider stealing from someone.   Especially go into another's home to do it.     My screw ups had more probability to hurt myself than anyone else.  Big difference.   No lost sleep here.
  21. I had the same issue with mine.  I just decided to get something that I thought anyone could use for guns.     If mine is still looking, I could use a new bottle of Shooter's Choice bore cleaner.
  22. Amen!
  23.   Understood, but we are talking about those things for which one would knowingly not pass a background check.  You can never guarantee anything.   Again, I will say in theory and in absolute logic, background checks for every sale would reduce the total number of guns sold to someone that isn't qualified (based on the availability of disqualifying info in the background check).  The illogical part they will not admit is that these same people don't follow laws.
  24. I love a 410.  I had one as a kid and to be honest, I find them to be one of my favorite now simply for the challenge.  There is nothing like having your first gun forever and being able to use it as an adult and have the memories with it.  You can always get a bigger gun.  My advice would be get a 410 and let him get used to it before going to a 20 gauge.  He can most likely handle a 20 gauge, but if he gets good with a 410, he will be even better with a 20 and 12 later.   I also prefer a semi-auto simply because it reduces felt recoil for a new person.  For me, a Remington 1100 410 Wingmaster would be perfect.  Unfortunately, they are hard to find and expensive now.
  25.   I suspect the main reason to use them is to make it easier to qualify the load for the 9MM Major power factor.  Much easier to hit Major at lower speeds with such a heavy bullet.
