The short answer is NO. The laws have not changed. -

He never said such a thing. No, it will not affect this site or you selling your shotgun to your BIL unless he lives out of state. Then you will have to use an FFL as one always has. -
Pending Gun EO Chatter, Update See Post #114
Hozzie replied to runco's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The key to all of this remains the livelyhood provision. If you aren't living off of it, it's hard to prosecute you as a dealer. As OS has posted many times, simply making money on them isn't illiegal. Obummers EO's don't change any of this. It's as you mention, it makes the ill informed think he has done something. That's not to say the ATF won't try someone, but the law hasn't changed. -

In reality, he isn't changing anything on background checks. This is nothing more than facetime. I will admit, I see the same guys at gunshows all of the time with tables who are obviously trying to make money and have personal collection on their tables. While it may be for a hobby, I do think it skirts the intent of the law. If you can go to a gun show every weekend and get a table to sell guns, I think you are in the business of selling guns. For the normal Joe Schmoe who walks around with a single gun, nothing changes. -
Celine Dion - Hello (Adele Cover) LIVE - New Year's
Hozzie replied to Ron_TN's topic in General Chat
I don't think it was terrible, but it seems to me you can hear her accent in it more than other songs she sings. -
Damn you all, just what I need is one more thing to tinker with. I have a feeling I will be doing the same thing as Spots very shortly.

41P Update - November 2015
Hozzie replied to midtennchip's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I don't really need another suppressor or sbr, but what the hell, I guess I will order one of each before this takes effect just as a middle finger to these updates. I have and would still get a trust for the overall benefit, but screw getting permission or notifying a CLEO. -
Maybe a category tag like "For Sale" or "Wanted" are in the classifieds? I don't know if that is supported, but it would be an easy way to differentiate reviews in any subforum.

I think there is info on the website about who created it. I know AccurateShooter did a video review of it somewhere with the guy who designed it. I don't know what specific details they used when designing it, but if AccurateShooter recommends it, that is all I need to know. It has been around for a long time. I think the first copy was created around 1989. They explicitly say it is only a tool, but with valid data, it is very close to actuals.

Here is a really good overview by AccurateShooter. http://www.accurateshooter.com/gear-reviews/test-quickload-review/

I am probably not alone when I say, that is exactly what I am saying. My dog comes before anyone. I am not saying he should for anyone else, but for me he does. It basically goes Family (my dog included), very close friends, all other dogs, all other people. In that order.
-
I am guessing it could simply be stress or an anxiety attack. If you have waited a month to introduce them, I suspect the dog senses your stress about it. I am guessing the environment you are doing it in is also stressful for the dog. Do it in an area that would be neutral for the dog. If you are stressed the dog will not be relaxed. I would have introduced them on day 1 outside of the house. It is then not seen by the dog as a threat. They are smarter than you think. Beautiful dog!

It is a program that allows you to enter a bunch of variables about a load and it will output case pressure, estimated velocity, and a lot of other data. It allows you to really see the safety of your loads. It is amazing how much small changes in things like OAL, bullet length, and even a small case volume change can change things. I like that you can "load" a cartridge with different powders and see effects on pressure, velocity, etc. It allows you to see if you have a powder that may work with a caliber if you don't have the powder you normally like to use. It tells you how full the case will be as well as how much of the Powder will burn. It gives overall load efficiency with whatever powder you use. I used it specifically to help determine what my milsurp powder was most close to in burn rate. For me, it is a great way to verify my loads are safe.
-
That was my stance for a long time as well, but after using it, it is worth 3 times that price. I suppose it may depend on how many calibers you load for, but I feel kind of dumb for not getting it sooner. I load quite a few different calibers and have already felt like I have my money's worth in just a week.

I have been reloading for quite a while and know the "rules of the road" per se for reloading. I have been working on load testing my Sako TRG using WC846 as I have 16lbs of it I bought from David. Most say that WC846 is very similar to BLC2 so I based my starting loads off on the very conservative side of BLC2. To make a long story short. I had some signs of pressure on my higher load tests (still well below the BLC2 max), but I wasn't really sure how close (or potentially even over) to max pressure I may have been. I actually stopped after shooting one round of my highest load as I didn't like the looks of the brass afterwards. I am glad I did as after figuring out what my pressures were, I was pushing 63,000psi when max pressure in a 308 is 62000 psi. According to the books, I was supposed to be well below max pressure with what I was loading. I decided to finally order Quickload and really get down to some specific measurements. That was how I determined my pressures (I had all measurements, plus velocities to compare to the output in Quickloads). Needless to say, I have now been able to determine that the specific jug of WC846 I am using loads basically identical to H4895, quite a bit hotter than BLC2. I don't say this to tell anyone they should use H4895 load data, but simply to re-iterate what most of us already know and that is reloading is not to be taken lightly. Moral of the story, if you reload for rifle (even if you have been doing it forever), do yourself a favor and BUY Quickloads. I don't think I will load another target round without first checking it in Quickloads. I am mostly looking for the most accurate loads out of any of my rifles, so I do a lot of load testing, but this program makes a huge difference in my confidence in my loads. I know Mike Gideon has used it for a long time and I had thought about getting it for a long time, but never did. I can now say "why did I wait so long!" It isn't super cheap (~$150), but it is worth every penny. I just wanted to bring it up to those of you who may not know about it as I think everyone should have it if you reload. http://www.neconos.com/details3.htm

I pay a shitload in taxes. I am good with my tax dollars going to this. Shame and humiliation are right in my wheelhouse. I feel no pity for anyone who would do enough to be convicted of animal abuse.

Whittakers has them listed for $420.99 if anyone really wants one.

Thank you Reefer and MsMonkeyMan for taking care of the dog. She will make someone a great companion. I am with Dolo, I don't think I would/could have been quite as nice to the original owner.

I believe our comments are more to Comms. A statement like "I would rather own high points than S&W anything" is just ridiculous. I won't own a Glock because I can't stand ugly guns. I don't expect Comms and I have much in common along gun lines anyway. That is ok.
-
I guess I need to sell my S&W Model 41's for Glocks. :(
-
My dog will think he has a secret admirer :)
-
I believe Glocks are damn near the ugliest guns ever made. Ruger just upped the ante. I won't own either so I guess it doesn't matter, but what designer could look at that and say "Yeah, that's about right!" (Ok, for the Glock fanboys and girls, there are a few guns uglier than a Glock, but not many :-) )

As I see it, he can tell the Feds to ignore a law as he has done many times (e.g Marijuana), but he can't redefine the law. I don't care what he says. I will continue buying and selling guns just as I already do. I will live by the laws, not his made up laws.

Thank you very much. I am usually pretty good about checking for things like that.

Congrats winners. I suck at FF, but had fun. My attention span just doesn't quite last a full season. There's always next year :-)
