  1. I would look for something like a CZ 452 American with the 16" threaded barrel. Classic looks, good quality, light, and great feel. Hard to find 452's sometimes, but they may be out there. I use mine to plink off the porch all the time. Or if you have stupid money, a Winchester Model 52C Sporter (original of course :))
  2. I reference the old line in a song, “if you want to be happy for the rest of your life make an ugly woman your wife” as it relates to Glocks. I still cant marry an ugly wife
  3. It's a cool place. Been there a couple of times when visiting my brother. And if you get to that area and like to golf, go play Arrowhead. Awesome golf course.
  4. Left hand is just the change of a lever. Not any harder to do than right hand. Even metric isn’t any harder, it’s more about what kind of lathe they have and if it has a universal gear box or the right change gears for the metric thread.
  5. Absolutely. Mostly depends on how big the headstock of the lathe is as mentioned above. There are a lot of ways to do it, some better than others but anyone who has done many should have the tools to do it. There are various types of jigs to hold the action and be able to adjust runout. I agree with SlickRick that you want someone who knows what they are doing, but it isn’t hard to get a barrel dialed in to thread it. It just takes a little patience.
  6. Damn. Good pickup.
  7. Replied. Still available.
  8. Pending meet.
  9. More culling. Duplicate for me. Nice condition old Model 41 with cocking indicator. Comes with a box, but not the original to it, but is from 5.5" Model 41. Has a couple of the tools as well. 2 Magazines. Pictures make it look like it has some wear on muzzle but it is just from reflection of light on the RIG I keep on it. The other is just some lint. I can take different pictures if someone want them. $sold firm. Meet within a reasonable distance of Chapel Hill.
  10. Thinning continues. This is a 12 gauge shotgun. New, I never fired it. Comes with everything as new. (3) Five rounds magazines. They call this design Hexacote. $750. Meet within a reasonable distance of Chapel Hill.
  11. I sold the rifle online and didn't include the ammo. So 86 rounds +14 cases. $150. Meet within a reasonable distance of Chapel Hill.

    WHY?

First world problems. Do what makes you feel good and justify it however you want. I'm with Garufu, I'm not worried one bit about being in some shootout everywhere I go. That doesn't mean be oblivious, it just means I am a believer in when it's my time it's my time. Enjoy life, don't worry about every damn thing, including the highly unlikely chances you are going to be shot at church.
  13. bump
  14. Sold
  15. If he does sell it, just have an agreement he can buy it back for what they paid. Or just let the kid use it and keep it.
  16. This is Ellie. A bit neurotic at times but a good dog.
  17. And if they do hate it, I don't need to be friends with them
  18. I have taken a bit of a combined approach. I have some nice guns of all sorts, but I am basically now a 100% 22 guy. I have been selling off guns I don’t shoot and will probably never shoot and putting that money into higher end 22’s. I have enough of the other to still do anything I want but I don’t hunt anymore and am basically into precision shooting. I love me some small calibers still like 22-250 and 204 Ruger. I am a proponent of finding what you really love and finding the rarities in that and making it fun. I am kind of out of the collecting mode. Even my rarer or classic 22’s I want to shoot. What else is the point of having them.
  19. Check with the guy in Chapel Hill at Echo 3 Armory. Not sure of his prices, but threading shouldn't be any issue. I thread my own barrels but have a lathe and tooling. It really isn't rocket science to be honest. You will want a mill to do the dovetails.
  20. None. Guess I didn’t mention that but should be obvious at the price it doesn’t.
  21. I’ll send you my phone number in a PM.
