Where do you buy your cast boolits?
Hozzie replied to Westwindmike's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
No idea, never used one with them. I don't think they have many out there, I have probably looked at one point or another. I always felt their prices and shipping were fair so I didn't give it much effort. -

That Annealeez seems reasonable to me. Basically half the price of the other two. Had I seen it before I made this I probably would have sprung for it. -

For me, one at a time in water is too slow and annoying. There is no worry on overheating the case when only doing the neck for 4 or 5 seconds. The two flames provides more uniform heating. As with any of these types of things, do what works for you. I liked this one because it was a bit faster overall. -
New project to try - Cheap Annealing Setup

They are just simple shelf brackets from HD. 8"x10". I just cutoff the angled support on two of them so I could bend them to the angle I needed. I used a 3/8 nipple 6" long for the shell holder and the eye bolt for the handle. You will need a piece of 7/16 wood dowel to go inside. It's really pretty simple. I used a couple of T brackets and bent them to match my angle on the bottom of the propane bottles to give them a stop to sit on. All in all, it seems to work well. For reference, the base is 24" x 12". -
Nice looking dogs. We have a big community of dog lovers in addition to firearms enthusiasts here.

New project to try - Cheap Annealing Setup
Hozzie replied to Hozzie's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
That's pretty nice, but I didn't want to work THAT hard at making it. It ended up costing me about $50 as the two propane torches were $30 alone, but with a couple of small updates, I think I will be ready to go. I just want something to support the bottom of the propane bottles a bit and maybe a small clamp around each bottle to hold it better and I should be good to go. I can put a small pan under the back to catch the brass. I think it will work perfect for what I need. -
I have been considering buying an annealer as I am shooting a little more 308 and am in the process of turning my Savage Target into a 260 for 1000 yard shooting. Of course coming along with that is the need to anneal cases after a few reloads. I have been looking at the Giraurd and BenchSource and while both are very nice, they are spendy. I usually am a buy once, cry once type of guy, but I ran across this video and I have to admit, I think it is a pretty slick setup since all I am probably doing is a couple hundred cases at any given time. I thought some of you may also be up for a small project that to me looks to be well worth it. Worst case, I am out $20 $50 and a little time. https://youtu.be/1uPlbB6LHKE

Thanks. I am a bit of a dog freak so it fits me. It isn't my Golden, but looks just like mine did.

Kind of cool. I would have never noticed I don't think.

Have they quit making .22WMR? UPDATE: NOW IN THE WILD
Hozzie replied to seez52's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
That's the crux I guess for me. It isn't about the money. I prefer to shoot 22's over 223 or most centerfires regardless of the cost. I don't buy from gougers as I don't shoot HV or the most common ammo you find at walmart, etc. I stick with standard velocity for my suppressors so it is usually a bit higher anyway and I can buy it online in bulk. I shoot some centerfire, but mostly benchrest type shooting. I am not a tactitool kind of guy so even my AR's are bench guns for varmints. -

I can agree with that. Unfortunately, for those of us that want to shoot 22 wmr, that is just what we are going to have to pay. I don't blame anyone who doesn't shoot 22 wmr regulary to not buy it, but I don't think it will drastically go down in the future either. -

I think we get too caught up in what things used to cost. The fact is, 22 ammo of any kind will never be the cost it once was in my opinion. I have too many 22's of different varieties to simply say I won't shoot them, more importantly to me is they are what I enjoy shooting the most. The amount of bang is irrelevant to me, actually it is probably the less bang the better to be honest. I am not trying to argue that anyone should spend any more than they want to on any of it, but for those that do want to shoot these calibers, I would be buying what I could. A year from now if Hillary is president, you will think $15 is a steal. -
The way I read it, if there is a room at the KEC where they are serving alcohol by the drink, then you can't be in that room. Otherwise you are ok. The KEC certainly isn't devoted to serving alcoholic drinks, so as a whole it isn't off limits. I am pretty sure using the term "devoted" is just a way to say Bars in a more encompassing way so someone can't say they are a lounge to get around being a bar, etc.

Similar to friends saying "Buy a Boat". Translation: You get all of the expense and headache, we get all the fun! (Well at least most of it). Maybe it isn't so bad, they do buy the beer

Yeah, I hated to, but I just paid .34/round delivered for Hornady 30g. I bought 500 rounds just to have a little extra laying around. I figured $14 local, plus tax is $15.30. By the time I drive around to get a box here or there, I would probably have the $17/box (inc shipping) I paid in it. Glad I bought a fair amount back when it was $10/box. I still don't have as much as I would like, but I know I have more than most. -
I agree it seems a bit bright, but I can deal with that. I am good with the main browser view for the most part. Not a fan of the mobile view personally. I think my biggest issue with both is what I view as excessive white space between things. I want to scroll as little as possible so the extra space and things like showing a legend of what hour the post was made on the left on the main browser view is a waste for me. I can see how long ago the last post was, I don't personally need both. I realize this is most likely a hard function of the new version, but I don't feel like the user experience is really better. Sometime there are too many options imo. In the end, I will use what is available. If Tapatalk doesn't come back, I probably won't check in as much during the day, but that won't kill me. I suppose I would ask for one thing it would be if there is a way to have an option to condense the views. I suspect that is a very personal choice for many, but it drives me crazy.

I agree. I guess it isn't the end of the world, but i would also prefer tapatalk.

I just had to do this and it was right around $250 I think. It could have even been a bit cheaper. They should ask, but make sure to tell them you want a private cremation. It is a bit more, but I wanted to have my dog, not a mix. I go to Healthy Petz in Spring Hill. Really nice people. I received a personal card from the vet as well as a signed card with a note by every person that works there. It meant a lot to me.

Congrats to you both. Have many happy years together.

This is pretty easy for me. Call a lawyer. It's the only way this gets resolved.

While it will be a bigger nuisance afterwards, it won't be impossible. When you can afford it, it is well worth it.
