  1. Yeah, but I think it should still let us mark items as free as it is one of the options. I have used it before.
  2. For some reason, the trading post won't let me set my item to "free". I set it to for sale and put free in the title, but it may be a bug that needs to be looked at. This was in the non-firearms classifieds. I didn't try in any others.
  3. I'm done. I have (well, I will have when my last two get approved) all the suppressors I need and two SBR'd lowers. I will just swap new uppers onto one of my existing lowers when I want something else to play with.
  4. Call Nebraska where she was arrested and ask. No need to run a background.
  5. Just saw those on the calendar yesterday Regis. I should make the tactical, but will be out of town for the BR match this time.
  6. Why, you don't think they have it already? Give a fake email like everyone else.
  7. I didn't see anywhere to see the results. I am curious if they will even make them public. Of course if they think it helps them they will, but if it doesn't go their way, I don't think we will ever see the results.
  8. That's why we have wills. I don't have any immediate family members who would get my guns that would do this. Honestly, I will make sure mine go to a few people who will keep and appreciate them. I don't worry about them after that point.
  9. I would also go to the side. I just put a couple on my sbr's. I didn't go with a remote switch yet, so I put them where I could easily turn them on/off with my front hand. I will post a couple of pics when I get home this afternoon.
  10. Call them. They may take payment over the phone and let you come in to pick it up and do paperwork. Also call Guns and Leather in Greenbriar.
  11. I decided this week to go ahead and build my AR10 before things get out of hand. I started with a CMT Billet Receiver set as a base. Wasn't sure what I was going to do from there, but as I have had a full JP Rifle in the past and liked it a lot (and of course sold it like a dummy), I decided since I was only going to have one AR10 I would do it the way I wanted which is similar to their LRP07. I went with a 20" JP Barrel, JP handgaurd, and basically all JP internals and silent buffer, Geissele NMHS trigger, and Magpul PRS stock. This was all obviously quite a bit more than you want to spend, but I think you can certainly build a very nice, quality AR10 for $1400. That doesn't include optics though. I have always been happy with CMT billet receivers so for me they are a great starting point. It run me $500 for the set after transfer so you can look from there and figure out if you could do something within a cost you like. I believe an Aero set I bought a couple of years ago was $350 or so. I sold it to someone on here as at the time I wasn't sure I was going to end up building it. Going with simpler buttstocks and trigger can save you a lot if you are ok with that. You can always add later. I bought 2-10 rounds PMAGs and 2-20 round PMAGs and don't see needing more for it. I have plenty of other AR's for self defense . This is more for target shooting. The funny part of all of this is I am really not an AR guy, but somehow I now have 6 of them and two spare AR15 receiver sets just in case. The CMT AR10 Receiver sets are a bit hard to find, but this is where I got mine. Shows they still have a few in stock. They were very quick to ship. http://www.tacticoolfirearms.com/products/308-cmt-billet-upper-lower-combo-set
  12. Me either. My experience is it shoots well above its price point.
  13. Looks great!
  14. I'm impressed. No really.
  15. That was a quick $150 to lose.
  16. I agree, but we as gun owners who do know also shouldn't say emphatically that it isn't true, because in some cases it is.
  17. Bud, I think it is important to not overlook some facts. Gun shows themselves don't require a background check. I am not saying they need one, but let's not act like there is a requirement at gun shows to do a background check. Yes, if you buy from a dealer you have to do a background check, but it isn't because you are at a gun show that it is required. Many people are looking to do person to person transactions that don't require a background check and is also perfectly legal at a gun show. The internet purchasing is another issue which of course already requires a background check (well sort of since you can buy from a board such as TGO and have a gun shipped in state without a background check). It's obviously harder now due to the shipping companies policies, but still perfectly legal if they would ship to an individual. My simple point, you aren't required to do background checks at a gun show or even the internet as a whole for every transaction.
  18. We can complain all we want about the name, but to most people, an AR is synonymous with assault rifle and you and I aren't going to change that discussion no matter how many "talks" we have with people. We need to focus on solutions, not a name. For me, a simple solution starts with making a free, optional background check system for individuals. No laws need to change as criminals don't worry about them anyway, but I suspect most here would be open to using a simple pass/fail check system based on very basic information. Devil would be in the details on making sure what constitutes a fail and how to fix it, but easy and free availability would go a long way in my view. Take away the term mandatory and I bet a lot of opposition drops. I believe most responsible gun owners would feel better knowing whomever they are selling to is good to go, but don't want the hassle of driving to an ffl or log that goes along with a mandatory check. This way if someone has an hcp, you don't have to do a check if you are comfortable with it like I am.
  19. I'm glad you have another buddy. I am sure he will bring a lot of great new memories as well as allowing you to also reminisce about some of the older great memories as well.
  20. Could have been. I suspect more from CMA left yesterday. I also expect most from Bonnaroo drove there so it wasn't as bad as expected. No matter the reason, I was happy to see it.
  21. Well I survived and surprisingly, absolutely no real lines at the airport yet. Less than 5 min from check in through security.
  22. Me too, but I am hoping my status and TSA pre-check get me out of the main lines.
  23. Actually it is. I am not a big concert guy for the most part, but I loved Pearl Jam back in my college days. Figured it was a good chance to see them before they get too old.
  24. My friends say the search isn't much more than a glance when going into the VIP camping area. I don't think liquor is an issue in the camping area, but you do have to be a bit creative to get it into the main stage areas. As with anything, I think not acting like a moron and using some decent discretion goes a long way.
