  1. I take my dog literally everywhere with me. She doesn't go in most places, but she is better behaved than most kids I see in these stores. Some of you would have a stroke in Europe. It's not uncommon to see dogs in restaurants. The difference is they are well mannered. Again, more than I can say for most of the kids I come across these days.
  2. We may not like it, but I can guarantee his position is closer to the majority than ours. This is simply the inevitable whether we like it or not.
  3. Budget would dictate what I would recommend. For lower end money, I agree with Kahrman, a nice old 1100LT 20 Gauge is classic, but a little heavy. I am a Benelli and Beretta fan as well. For me, it would be worth a drive up to Whittakers and handle a few. One will find you. For me, it's 20 gauge all day every day. I hardly ever use a 12 gauge for anything anymore.
  4. Been giving to the local Golden Retriever Rescue foundation for years. It isn't a lot per person, but it all adds up.
  5. He's ok IF they are transferred in as rifles. No different than buying a rifle out of state in person. If they are transferred as Other he will have an issue.
  6. Not sure what affiliation Delta has or had, but after 1 million miles, I don’t remember ever seeing the NRA in all of my crap I get. The NRA has affiliations with a ton of places. If I boycotted them all I wouldn’t be able to do anything or go anywhere.
  7. I actually completely disagree with placing Military or anyone else in schools. Teachers want to carry, fine, but the fact is we cannot afford to do it with NG or any other government force. Asking vets to do it is ok, but reality is that isn’t free either. The fact is still that these events are extremely rare and statistical anomalies. I realize that it isn’t politically correct to say that the reality is that people die every day for a variety of reasons that cannot be controlled. If you can control them, there is a cost and that cost has to be weighed against the value it brings. I will probably upset some here, but a life, any life does have a value. It drives me crazy when people say no cost is too high. Yes there is a cost too high, unless you are spending other people’s money. All we should be doing is what brings the most value to the issue. Certainly better cooperation and sharing of mental health data. That doesn’t cost much. Certainly more reactivity to leads on people with issues. That doesn’t cost a lot. This idea of putting NG or the Military in schools is just as much of a jump to “do something, anything” vs using logic. I am not willing to pay significantly more to do this as it does not make sense financially no matter how emotional one wants to get over it. If you want to see how important this truly is ask people to voluntarily donate to a national fund for providing security to all schools. I bet you end up with less than $5000 per school. That isn’t changing things.
  8. This is about the best response I have seen to this. I am just going to start posting a link to this for a response. https://news.unclesamsmisguidedchildren.com/florida-shooting-op-ed-refuse-lectured-anymore/
  9. Maybe the thing to do would have been to politely point out to the guy that if you had bad intentions his firearm was open to easily take it from him. If nothing else, it may make him think next time about being more situationally aware.
  10. When that demand is still equal to or above the supply. Demand can be declining and still above supply.
  11. Go to the source. Quite easy to get the numbers. I didn't see any newer numbers, but I'll look. https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2013/crime-in-the-u.s.-2013/offenses-known-to-law-enforcement/expanded-homicide/expanded_homicide_data_table_8_murder_victims_by_weapon_2009-2013.xls
  12. I think it's more of an issue of they believe if the person isn't willing to talk in person, it's more likely to be a scam. People get scammed over email all of the time. Less so over the phone on something like this. I think your When I see "text only" response is the exact same response for many about dealing over email. Many prefer to simply have a call. I know I do. Easier to ask and answer questions quickly on a call vs email or text.
  13. If you seriously want to give it a go, spend a little money and get a lesson to start. It's way easier to start with good habits that will make you play better and make the overall experience much more enjoyable. You shouldn't need more than 2-3 lessons to get the basics down. Start with short irons, not a driver or fairway wood. Start with a PW or 7 iron and work your way up.
  14. You could try Welding Unlimited in Franklin, but they aren't cheap. Don't know until you ask.
  15. All Things Engraved. Over on Carothers by the Puffy Muffin. They have engraved my SBR’s.
  16. Nope, no issues.
  17. Had both. Have a lab radar now. Prefer the lab radar, but they both work. Strapping anything to your barrel will affect it, but if you just want velocity, the magnetospeed is fine.
  18. Anyone have a link they care to share on Facebook so I can share it. Already contacted them on their website.
  19. David, Take it for what it's worth (not much probably ), but I think the reason so many do come here to talk politics is most regulars see the others on this forum as friends (and quite honestly more than a gun forum) and it is what friends talk about. Granted, it is much easier in most cases to discuss a topic with those who most likely agree with you, but as we know, we have a very diverse group on here. I don't always agree with one side or the other and in many cases have said to myself, what the hell is wrong with that person, but there are also many cases where some comment has made me rethink a position. I believe the world has its issues today because everyone is so worried about hurt feelings. We certainly should remain civil and not attack personally (well, unless it's really needed for extenuating circumstances ), but I personally believe it is also what brings people to this site. I guess I was brought up to defend my opinion, hopefully with facts. I am not above changing my opinion if someone can convince me. But I also am perfectly ok saying we will have to agree to disagree. More people need to learn to do that IMO. If I am honest, most of the gun talk on here has nothing to do with anything I do with guns. I am not into tactical mumbo jumbo, or carrying 24/7, or which plastic gun is the newest. I suspect I am not alone. My passion is rimfire's and there is virtually no discussion of rimfires on this forum. Probably because there are dedicated rimfire forums, I get that. My point is simply that sometimes we need more than just guns to bring us to a site. You and the admin team do a great job of keeping the peace so to speak. I definitely think some go over the line, but maybe a consideration should be more into the area of banning members who do nothing but cause trouble. Or maybe have two custom streams available. One with unread threads including politics and one without. I suspect most use the unread feature to see what is going on and this is why they don't like it. Just hide it for those that don't want it. My two cents. It doesn't really matter to me one way or the other, but I do find myself less involved with it gone.
  20. There is a rumor that this may not be the only trist with a metro employee. Curious to see if there is anything to it. If there is, then she certainly has to go. For the first instance, while not what I would hope, I also have been on the other side of cheating and know full well that things in her personal life probably were already to a point that the cheating was the least of her worries. Doesn't make it right, or moral, or anything, but I don't judge people solely by that measure. Walk a mile on another's shoes as they say. To even bring up her sons suicide as being related, even if it was, is pretty tacky. You wouldn't say it to your friend, why would you say that to her or anyone for that matter? It makes no difference other than to pile on. The only real issue I have is using taxpayer funds to bankroll things along the way. I don't agree with and don't like her policies, although I am confident I will never like any Nashville mayors policies. It will be liberal for the rest of time. It's just a fact of being a big city which is also why I don't live there. Lots of glass houses around here it seems.
  21. Congrats!
  22. Skateboard tape works well as well.
  23. My mom just called me and said one of the people killed was their old neighbors nephew. Their other nephew was also shot. It can happen anywhere and hit close to home.
  24. Registered. I also used 'Live' (hotmail) account. No bueno. Want the same username so don't want to create a second account if possible. Edit. It just came through.
