No problem. I appreciate your help.

No problem for me. First strange thing I have noticed.

Not enough to keep me from using it. Still prefer it due to having all of my forums in one place.

It's weird, I saw that on Tapatalk as well, but on the website it actually has more text with a link. Curious to see how the quote shows up as a test. ..... It did the same thing. I removed the link and it now shows as David wrote it (minus the hyperlink). Strange.

I just bought a new Polaris Ranger and want to get an enclosed trailer to haul it and to just have for general use. I basically know what size I want, specs, etc, but it seems like every brand I look up has terrible reviews for warranty work and general customer service. I have high expectations for quality and will pay for it but it seems money doesn’t necessarily mean better quality on these. In general I am looking for 8.5 x 16-20’ trailer.with 7’ interior. It must have tubed frame, extended tongue, torsion axles, and v-nose. Basically a good trailer. Does anyone have one that they can recommend? I am willing to drive to get what I want, but everything I find seems to have less than stellar reviews for qualiy. TIA!

Yes, it would be illegal.

On a plane right now, but will when I get home this afternoon.

You have to take the class. I had my carry permit when I moved to TN. That allows you 6 months (may be 3) giving you time to take the class and get your TN permit. I would call TDOS. I think they updated the law. If you read his link it seems pretty clear. Not sure how long ago you got yours.

I don’t think this is correct. So long as his Texas permit is valid, I think he can just apply and pay for his license at the dmv.

It's kind of like car shopping. Go handle as many as you can and see what you like/don't like about different aspects such as types of buttstocks, forarms, sites, etc. Take note of what you like and don't like and then go do some searching for one that has the things you like. I am all for buying from your local shop when it makes sense, but don't pay a lot more than what you can buy online for. I think things are probably a bit on the panic side, but I don't think it is affecting too much too bad just yet. One day can change a lot though. I don't know the Memphis area as far as where best to go look, but I am guessing @Chucktshoes and some others can give you some suggestions.

That's the thing with AR's, they are very personal as far as what one like's and dislikes. I will say, I don't personally like the look of the A2 front site and I think it does get in the way. Honestly, they will all work and do what you want within that range with 223/556. My recommendation. Find the one you like the looks of and get it. Put a decent 1-6x scope on it and some backup sites and have fun. The only thing I think most off the shelf AR's need is a better trigger and there are lots of way to fix that issue. The best part about them is if you decide you don't like something on them or simply want to try something new, it is super simple to change things. I just put these Hera parts (buttstock and forehandle) on my 9mm SBR for something different. I haven't decided if I completely like the look or not, but it sure is comfortable. If I decide I don't like it, 10 min's and they are back off.

This is a pipe dream just like most who dream of being the hero who takes down a bad guy to save the world with their S&W shield on their hip. I don't want this to be construed as me against teachers carrying guns, I am all for it. But anyone with any sense realizes that is not going to be a zero sum game. I agree it can and may help with someone engaging a shooter sooner, but it certainly doesn't mean that this issue is now resolved. The guns we carry as citizens are primarily for self defense. In these situations it suddenly becomes an offensive scenario and that is very different. Mama June who went and got her HCP with no real training is not much more than a distraction, albeit an important one I admit. Luckily, most of these shooters have had very little training themselves. The fact is, in a country such as ours there will always be risk with our freedom. I imagine all of us here are willing to accept that risk. My whole point is simply lets not overblow the impact a few teachers carrying may have. Can it help, sure. Will it prevent more shootings, only time will tell.
-
He was implying that if it is known more people are carrying at the school, it will reduce these shootings. I was simply stating that I don't necessarily agree due to fact that I don't think the people doing this care. We certainly agree that someone engaging the shooter quicker is a good thing.

I think this argument is over-estimated. I don't think a single one of these kids probably thought that much about someone having a gun to be able to shoot back. I won't say it won't deter some, but I think half of these kids don't care if they live or die anyway.
-
Yes and no. Ever watched the other people at a Carry Class. I wouldn't let most of them carry around my dog (to be fair I value my dog like people value their kids). Half of them have never even shot a gun. I am all for teachers carrying guns, but they have to have more training (or at least demonstrate more proficiency) than just getting their carry license. We will have some teacher accidentally shooting the wrong kid.

This. From 100ft away, if one was using a bump stock and shooting, could you tell it was a bump stock and not a true full auto? I doubt most could without closer inspection assuming one is using it as they are intended.

20-year-old sues Dick's, Walmart over new gun policies
Hozzie replied to Grand Torino's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I suspect what you are going to see is these places just quit selling guns and ammo all together. -
Guns N Leather in Greenbriar usually has some. You can shoot there as well although not sure what they have as far as CZ's to test. I would call them.

I am indifferent about AR's, but I love to build things. I now have 6 variations and two receiver sets sitting idle waiting until I get another hankering. I've had an erector set since I was old enough to remember and these are the erector set of the Centerfire world. I don't have a single one which would be considered a typical AR. 2 long barreled varmint rifles (223 and 204 Ruger), 2 SBR's (223 and 9mm), a 22lr, and an AR-10. I have a feeling a 224 Valkyrie is in my near plans. I don't shoot any of them a lot, but I enjoyed putting them together and when I do shoot them, I do enjoy it. If I didn't like to build them, I would probably have 1 just to say I have one, although it would probably be the 9mm as I like the idea of it for short distance personal defense should I ever need to use it for that.

If you want to shoot long range, the best place around here is Strategic Edge. The bad news is there is a waiting list to join. I would contact them and get on the list now. Memberships renew in June and your best bet to get in will be coming up not long after you get here if people don't re-up. It's 30 min from Franklin. http://www.strategicedge.us/gun-range
