I hear if you place the charge just right, the explosion will split and stack it all into neat piles. Not sure, just what I heard...

Wimps. A few pounds of tannerite and a well placed shot from 100 yards should take care of getting it on the ground .....semi-safely....

He would have to be the dumbest seller on the face of the earth if he really has a serial number 7 in a true H&H for $1200. And I literally mean the actual dumbest.
-
I am sure H&H made some 300 H&H's, but any actually made by H&H I would expect to be in the tens of thousands of dollars range. I would get the serial number and call H&H if he really thinks it is an H&H made gun. I suspect he had no idea what he is talking about, but you never know.

Even if you are tired of sports athletes. This is pretty cool. I suspect a movie we all loved at one point. Game was last night

We absolutely agree. No worries on my part. I have the same inclination to use generalizations, but I absolutely get what you are saying.

This where it becomes too easy to lump people into categories. I am guilty of the same thing on various categories so not placing blame. I am technically (or not technically, but actually ) obese, 6'1", 295. I also pay in about 55k each year in taxes, so not really considered on the government dole or not paying my fair share. Now, that being said, I am also the first one to say that for example, I should have to pay more for my insurance as I am at higher risk. I certainly don't feel like I am having anyone else pay for me and in fact feel like I pay more than my fair share as a single guy. I think (or know) there are at least a few more of us on this site that probably fit closer into this category than being a fat lazy POS just because we are obese. There are plenty of those as well, but I guess I just say this to being on welfare and being fat aren't really related. Maybe being unhealthy is, but I am not sure being obese is.
-
As much as that sounds good, we don't want that. What else then are we willing to let the .gov dictate we must do in order to get some cheese. The solution to the welfare problem is literally cheese. Rice, beans, dried milk, bread, and eggs. You get all of that you want. We will give you enough to keep you alive, but the rest is up to you.

I actually think it would go the other way. Get vaccinated or we aren't covering any expenses remotely related to Covid. Or with the transmissions rates as they are, drop you all together. I can imagine costs are up, but not sure. To be honest, I am not really sure who is responsible for what at this point when it comes to treatments requiring any significant hospitalization. Is the .gov picking that up?

Do you also not believe that it is a business' right to run their business how they see fit? For me, as long as it is not the government, a business should be able to run things however they see fit. That actually includes discrimination for any reason. (Not looking for a response to the last part as I know it would have a quick death). In seriousness though, we do too much talking out both sides of our mouth's. It sucks for some people for sure. Greg, I hope your wife does what she wants. I suspect you are in a better position than most that she can actually have a decision to make.

I agree and don't plan any single track. However, I would rather drop a cheap bike over and over than this one, especially for 'practice'. I would be ok trying some things on a dual sport that I would never attempt on the Tiger, but I think it could be good experience. This is what happens when you have no wife or kids. You can justify anything
-
Good info here. I am actually considering finding an older 125 or 250 dual sport to practice with on the dirt/offroad. I don't really plan to do any serious offroading on my Tiger, but I want to have the skills to do some light trails if a ride leads me that way.

You guys need to go to Europe and see what they use to pull some things. More Volvo's pulling double horse trailers and campers than you can count.

Well, after a short wait my bike finally got here. Need to put a few things on it and break in the tires, but looking forward to get back to riding after a few year hiatus. This is a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro. I had the tires changed so I can hopefully do a bit more exploring, but need to get my skills back up a bit before getting too adventurous. Maybe good to start thinking of a TGO meetup sometime this fall when the weather is nice. We did it a few years ago and had a good time.

This was a manufacturing facility, so most likely not a customer. -
I am all for people doing whatever they feel ok with. I got vaccinated because I didn't really have strong opinion one way or the other. My buddy just texted me and a few buddies that he tested positive today. We all had dinner on Tuesday night, but he thinks he probably got it on a weekend trip to KY last weekend. He had the J&J. Basically said he just has a fever at this point. At the end of the day, if the vaccine keeps me from getting really, really sick, ok by me. I am 46, overweight, and have zero cares about the possible long term side affects. I am more likely to die from a heart attack than anything the vaccine can do to me. Everyone has to make their own choice. Don't want it, don't get it. I just don't want to hear the words 'it's a tragedy' when someone that isn't vaccinated dies from COVID. We all make choices and we all have to live with the consequences, but it won't be a tragedy.

This was my first year to plow up and prep a garden. It has went fairly well as my okra, corn, cucumbers, and watermelon all have done well. Time will tell on my asaparagus and horseradish as it needs a year to get started. My beans weren't great but I did get some. My peppers didn't do great, but I also planted late. I went over the top a usual and put a 4 strand electric fence around it or I am confident I wouldn't have had anything. By rough calculations I think I have about $50 in each ear of corn at this point.

Me and my parents have used Tim Neal company for many years and been happy. -
No, I have everything to load for it, just been too lazy to do it. Maybe tomorrow

Well, we cruising on that thing (or something) yet? We may have to have another TGO Motorcycle meetup one of these days. I just put in my order for a new Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro, but it won't be here for a month.

I have used this site to see body position on different bikes. If nothing else it kills some time. https://cycle-ergo.com/

I would agree with the above if you want a Harley. If I was buying a Harley now, it would be a road king most likely unless I was planning to do any real distance travelling, then I would probably go for a Road Glide. I had a 14 street glide special that was a really nice bike. I would look for something from 2009 and up as the touring frame was update that year and has some improvements. I am in the middle of overanalyzing myself, but I am leaning more towards an adventure bike now. I will ride 90% of the time on road, but want the ability to do some light off road if I get a hankering, so lighter is important. I also want to sit fairly straight. The challenge is many of the ADV bikes are tall. I am not short (6'1"), but flat footing some of them is a challenge with a 32" inseam.

Appropriately named as I would look like the proverbial Monkey F'n a football on that thing
-
Don't think you can go wrong with a Honda, but I would be more inclined personally to go with the CB500X. Just would depend what he likes. Too much leaning over on a CBR, but he is young. One thing is for sure, I would not have a bike now without ABS and those both do so that is good.

Maybe even something like a BMW G 650 GS. A bit of a do all bike but without a lot of the extra complexities of some of the newer bikes. Also not huge and heavy for a first bike. One can always add hard cases, etc if one really wanted to take it for trip. I should add, I also have been without a bike for a bit, but am also considering getting back to having one. I am a bigger guy, but will probably end up with something like an R 1200 or F 850.
