After many years of hope, it's happening. I'm finally moving to TN

It will be, but 4+ hours of driving every day would be worse IMO. You will meet people at work and around. -

You may be better off finding a economy motel to rent much closer. Gas alone and just the time is going to probably be more expensive than finding somewhere that is $50/night by the time you figure your real expenses. Rent by the month. A quick search shows a place called WoodSpring suites in Murfreesboro for $65/night. I would guess they will cut a deal for a longer stay. Wouldn't be a question for me. 15 minutes to work and probably save money in the long run. Just for argument sake, the drive will be a minimum of 2 hours each way, probably 2.5 hours with traffic.. 240 miles daily. with a 20mpg vehicle, you are looking at $36 and 4 hours per day, plus other expenses. I doubt it would take up much to make the difference. -
They have been around forever and owned the building. They aren't hurting.

We can hope it can only get better from a management/arrogance standpoint. They always had a great selection, but prices and the general attitude have been terrible for years.

Yeah, let's compare a complex scenario such as this to turning off the electric. Everyone does after action reports and they should be done, no one is saying they shouldn't . What I am saying is Joe Public sitting on his couch has no more credibility or background in most cases to have an opinion that even matters to the people who have to make decisions on policy and procedures based on real world experience. Everyone is welcome to their opinion. I am not saying police are always right, simply that all this "they should have" is ridiculous. It reminds me of people who always say, they should have just shot them in the leg. So, if you have the answers, go to your police department and help them out. I am sure they would be glad to listen.
-
Sure, go to Minneapolis and these other places where police aren't needed. They decided what they wanted. That's working out great. I will take the cops who do the best they can and error on the side that protects them and the majority of citizens, even if that included shooting a crazy person every now and then. There are going to be tragic cases that happen. It's not fair to the person or the officers, but it is what it is.

Easy to armchair quarterback when there are no repercussions to you personally. I am not a cop, but have worked with hundreds of police agencies from around the world. Everywhere is different, but one thing is for certain. There will always be someone who can tell you how to do your job better when they have never done it. I think of this video every time these discussion come up.

Every one of you that have the answer to what they should have done should go sign up to to be a cop.

It's the twitter like site started by one of Trumps old advisors. A brand new social media platform founded on the principles of free speech, independent thought and rejecting political censorship and “cancel culture.” -
A buddy and I have been talking about buying one for years. They are crazy expensive. Gook luck in your search.

Quick Load is great if you want to really know pressures, estimated velocities, etc. I use it when I am loading CF accuracy loads or if I am trying out different powders. For the guy who just wants to load some "target" rounds, a good reloading manual (or 3 as Greg says) is all you need. I suspect many of us have 4,5 or 10 laying around for cross referencing.
-
Buy yourself at least one reloading manual. Not that this group isn't well established, but taking load data without some sort of reference to check is asking for trouble. There are all kinds of powder/primer combo's you can use, but spend $20 and just read and start to peruse loadings. You will learn something and be a lot safer about it. It concerns me when anyone says I was going to try something based on a completely different round.

I just marked the site as read. My feeds will fill back up in no time like nothing happened.

It’s for Rimfire Benchrest. Small and specialized compared to TGO. RimfireAccuracy.com

I would like to have the option to delete my for sale posts. I usually remove any info in the listing anyway as I don’t like any more info about things I have or had out there anyway so wouldn’t help with future searches anyway. On the gun site I run we remove them after 4 weeks with no updates. Seems to work well for us but I can see both sides of it.

Society isn't failing these kids, their parents are. -
As dry as it was out there any accidental fire could have caused it. Especially with the winds as they were.

This is my brothers house or what's left of it which is nothing. That's all that's left from two stories.
-
Thanks for the offer. They are pretty fortunate and won't have an issue getting by, but I am sure there are a lot of people that aren't as fortunate. Me or my parents may drive out to get the dogs just to give them a little less to worry about for the short term. I have to say, I am not much of a planner, but this does make you think about having a bag ready with some basics.

Life can come at you fast. My brother called me at 2:45 saying they were being evacuated for a wildfire and he needed me to find him a hotel. He texted me at 4:45 saying they were watching his neighborhood burn on tv and his house was gone. They left with the family and dogs and the clothes on their backs. They expect to have nothing left. They were literally in the center of it. They are upset as is expected, but will be able to survive and rebuild. This wasn't like a normal mountain fire. Started in a Mesa near neighborhoods and now over 600 houses have burned in only 1600 acres of fire. The fires last year were almost 200,000 acres and burned less houses. Be prepared. You just never know.

I suspect it's not a much about where he shoots, but the game he is shooting. Some games have rules around the weight/diameter of the barrel, etc. Many games also have limitations on a rifles overall weight, scope magnification, etc. It just depends on the game.
