Someone really needs to buy this. The price/quality can't be beat for a 17hmr rifle. At this price it's cheaper than a CZ and you get full metal trigger guard, traditional blueing, etc. . I am surprised this hasn't sold already.

I can't say that I have ever had mine stuck simply because of wet grass on a hill. Typically when you see zero turns stuck, I think it is more operator error. I don't know how many times I have seen guys trying to go through a ditch of some sort straight on. They get the rear stuck on the downslope. The biggest issue I think many have is thinking if I push the lever farther forward it will give me more power. Wrong. These things have plenty of torque, just keep the wheel moving and not spinning. I guess we all have our own experiences with them, but I don't know anyone personally who has bought a good zero turn and regretted it.

Yes and no. It's more about steel gauge than just welding. Welded decks are good, but they also have squared corners etc. If you have to do any mowing in wet grass a quality stamped decked with rounded interior will clear (and not clump) and cut better than a square stamped deck. I am of course talking commercial grade mowers. That being said, the Bad Boy does have a welded deck on the mower he is referring to. It will clump in damp mowing conditions, but many mowers will. If I had to pick one thing I don't like about my Dad's, it has been the seat. It leans way back. Get the best seat they offer.

I am one of those that would always recommend a commercial mower and kawasaki engine. That being said, my dad has had two Bad Boys and not had any issues with them. They are not a John Deere, Scag, etc, but his have run just fine for many years. He is pretty meticulous on maintenance. Bad Boy has quite a few models now. There is also a company called Spartan which was started by the guy that originally started Bad Boy that may be worth a look. There are thousands of them out there. If that was in the price range I wanted to stay in, I wouldn't be afraid of them.

I had mine 5 years and it had to go to the dealer once. Like I said, I had the exhaust return turned off with my tune and it regenned a lot less than the stock setup so maybe that had to do with it, but I have nothing bad to say about the truck. I got 30 on the highway and averaged 27mpg. I won't say there aren't some that had issues, but I think they have gotten a bad rap based on my experience with one personally. I think when you go to a forum, it is typically for people to complain about something.

Call Green Diesel Engineering and talk to them. They have a solution to help with a lot of this that won't affect your warranty. The items mentioned above can be fixed with a transmission tune update from GDE. It does make a big difference in shift points. I had all of that on mine from basically new so never gave it much thought.

I had a 2016 ecodiesel for 5 years. Was a really nice truck and got great mileage. I had the green diesel tune which made it better, but you can’t get the same thing anymore. The epa stopped them. I am a fan of the small diesels in general if you aren’t pulling anything big. If I could have found the diesel when I bought my new suburban I would have got it.

I have had the Hornady and I now have a Dillon 750. For me Dillon wins hands down. It's just less finicky than my Hornady was. It just works. For better value, I would be looking for a 550C as Walt mentioned. Even a used one will have their lifetime warranty. I don't know anyone who has a Dillon that wouldn't buy one again. There may be someone, but they are far and few between. If cost is the main concern, I would probably just go with a Lee Pro 1000. I don't have personal experience with them, but they also have a pretty big following and I think a lot of people are happy with them.

Those Chinese bikes are interesting. I have a buddy who has talked about wanting something for around his farm. For a couple of thousand, could be an interesting and fun way to do it without breaking the bank and they do have have pretty good reviews (well except the one Greg linked to ). With anything like this I think it would be keeping your expectations reasonable.

The question I had to come to terms with was what did I really want, what could I live with, and what was an actual deal. I think right now a "deal" on a good used 250 is about 5k. In general terms a new 300 would be about 7k out the door IF you can even find one. I called the dealer where I bought my Triumph and asked for a price on the same KLX I bought and they basically said they probably won't have one this year or it will be late in the year. In the end I figure when all is said and done, I will probably save $1000 over new equally equipped. Not a huge amount, but as with many things today, it's just about availability. You need be ready to jump if you see something that you feel is a good deal, whatever that is. I could have bought a 2020 CRF250l with 282 miles on it for 5k, but would have needed to change out the suspension from everything I have read (cause I'm not skinny :)) so that would have been $500-600 more. I guess what I am trying to say is, there really aren't any "steals" out there and only you can define what a "deal" is. Facebook, CL, and LSN are about the only things I know of to watch. Good luck. Well, after contacting them again and a bit of back and forth, worked out a deal on the KLX300 and got it home this evening. I am looking forward to getting a little seat time on it. Don't have a lot of experience on the smaller off road oriented bikes, but should be fun to learn. Now I have my 90/10 bike and a 10/90 bike. One thing is for sure, I can't see how anyone would want to ride one of these little things on a large highway.

No, but they were both like new bikes. Actually the KLX above and a 2020 CRF 250L with like 57 miles on it. It isn't so much a matter of looking at them as just agreeing on a price or having a conversation about it. I am not driving an hour and a half to just look at something :). I let them know it's cash and I am flexible on potential meet times. I don't mind a response like you say, but it's at least a response. Just not responding at all is a bit annoying.

As a side note and general annoyance, do people just simply not respond when you make an offer on something for sale. I made (I feel pretty reasonable) offers on two bikes this week. Not a word from either person. Not even a "get ripped". I usually say thanks for the offer, but no, even if I think it is a bad offer on something I am selling. / small rant off.

For Honda, Kawasaki, and Yamaha I would say yes.

ABS is controversial in some circles. A lot of new machines have the option to turn off rear ABS when offroad, but leave front ABS on. I personally think unless you have a lot of experience, having front ABS is a benefit, especially on the main roads. I don't think a 300 is too much for a new rider, you just need to give yourself some time before going balls out. I also think a 250 is fine for most in this class. As to a second rider, I suppose in an emergency you could do it, but you wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis. I have been looking for a while and my biggest issue is finding one that doesn't look like it has been beat to crap if used. I think I have decided on the KLX simply due to the adjustable shocks since I am a bigger guy. Now to decide what I want to spend.
