I will only be reloading and in that only for subsonic rounds. I ordered a 1000 Missouri Bullet 245 gr lead bullets for just this purpose. I am working on cutting down brass and getting it prepped right now. I will be ready for when my suppressor gets here one way or the other :pleased: . Next is just to figure out subsonic loads for my 8.5" pistol and whatever rifle I end up with.

I am considering purchasing the gun mentioned above to go along with the 300 BLK pistol I am building with our TGO Lower and Upper. I am about a month away from getting my suppressor in hand and thought this looked like a good bolt action platform to shoot suppressed. It looks like this: Does anyone have any first hand experience with this particular rifle or experience with another bolt action in 300 BLK you have been happy with. I figure it's always fun to have at least two guns in the same caliber. Thanks!

I use 2400 for my 629 8-3/8. Does everything I need it to.

The issue is that there should be no definition of marriage at the State or Federal level. There are benefits directly tied to marriage. Change the State and Federal code to only recognize civil unions and link all benefits to a civil union, then it won't be an issue. Marriage is a religious term that was adopted before this all was an issue. Either leave it as Marriage and allow gays to "Marry" or change it to Civil Union and make everyone have a Civil Union to be recognized by the State and Federal Governments. If you want to be "Married", go to a church. But I suspect that won't be good enough for Religious folks either as that would be an assault on religion??

Also keep in mind that is isn't just about out of state people pushing this. I believe at least some of these cases are where TN residents went to another state to get married but it is not recognized by TN, so they can't do a name change, etc. They are recognized by the Federal Gov't for tax purposes, etc, but in some cases it can also affect their ability to healthcare, etc within the state. I am sick of all of it from all sides, but as many have mentioned, this is a religious issue, not a state government issue. Let the church be hypocrites to whomever they want, I could care less. When it is the state government whom we all pay taxes to, that is a different matter.

If it was me, I would probably go for a little nicer gun for the 22lr that will stand the test of time from a pure quality/looks perspective. I don't think there is a better value out there for this type of gun than a CZ 452. I am not saying the Savage isn't a good gun, it is. It will shoot the same as the CZ, but it will never compete in the fit, finish, and looks categories, which for me is a requirement if this is to be their first gun that they will keep forever. I would start there and let them pick there next guns. Let them research calibers and learn about them. There are a lot of options out there. In general for me, plastic and laminate doesn't equate to heirloom. Find a CZ 452 American, Trainer, or Lux and keep it forever.

I would have to say, my shorts would need a change too. Glad it all ended ok.

Just checked the TDOT website. For anyone interested, there is more info at : http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/i65WilliamsonCo/default.htm Also a link to the timeline: http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/i65WilliamsonCo/timeline.htm Even funnier is that they have a video of what the interchange will look like. I live a mile from the exit so I have been following it pretty closely. As far as I know, all of the planning, bidding, etc is complete. It truly now starts into the construction phase. It's about a 70 million dollar project if I remember correctly. It will be a 10 lane overpass similar to McEwen and then the four lanes all the way down to 840. You can go to TDOT's website and download the entire study, options, and planning. I reviewed it before, but it's been a while. They are re-routing the frontage road down the road a bit farther. It will not be where it is now just before the mapco. I think they are putting in a temporary overpass so they can remove the old one and start the new one from scratch. It is going to be a mess for a long time. Luckily, I work out of my house so I don't have to commute during rush hour. It will be bad enough at normal times. Once it is done it should be very nice though.

I wouldn't count on it. I think the completion date is 2016. They have to replace the whole overpass at Peytonsville Rd as well.

You didn't mention if you have kids, but if you do, Williamson County (Franklin, North Spring Hill, Fairview) has the best school district in the state. That may be something to consider as well.

RRA Pistol Buffer Tube Question
Hozzie replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I just bought one for my 300 BLK pistol build. I am guessing they are all flat on the end. It think it is probably just the angle of the 2nd picture. This is a picture of mine that I received a few weeks ago. -
You will have to go about 25-30 miles out to find something like that. It would be a 45 min drive during rush hour. They are just starting a new road project on the south side of Franklin that will have the roads screwed up for a few years. You would probably need to look in the Columbia area. You may be able to find something out near fairview as well as mentioned. Rockvale/eagleville may be another option.

There are quite a few good places anywhere from 10- 40 minutes (not miles) from Franklin. Closer to Franklin you get, it's more expensive. I live in Franklin if you have any questions. Budget and amount of land wanted will have a big impact on how far you would have to be.

That was only if the shutdown went on.

I am probably on the other side on this one. While I don't think the government should be able to tell someone how much money they can or can't give, I do think our election process has been corrupted by special interests. I don't really have a problem and in fact would like to know who paid for every ad for a politician. I don't see why people are hiding behind this. if you really believe what you are selling, you shouldn't have any issue with your name or organization attached to it. The fact is, 60% of all ads are negative and usually only half the truth. Maybe some disclosure would make them clean up some of this if they were worried about repurcussions. This would affect every Democrat as much as any Republican. It is a level playing field on this one in my opnion. I don't see why anyone would be against this unless it is trying to limit the amount of money they donate. I thought that was already decided. The normal person doesn't matter anymore.

Hornady 22 cal. Soft point bullets for .223?
Hozzie replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I use Midways Dogtown 55gr bullets all of the time and they are great. I believe they are made by hornday or Sierra. I also have some HP's from Midsouth Shooters in .224 and .204, but haven't shot them yet. I think they are supposed to be manufactured by Nosler. Reviews on them are pretty good. I don't know if they are seconds or just have a thinner jacket, but for .11 cents a piece, they're worth a try. I think with any of these, it will be about a gun with the right twist. Are they good in your 1 in 7 twist AR, maybe not. Will they be very good in your 12 or 14 twist bolt action, my experience has been yes. -

It is. I am trying to be diplomatic, but I will stand by either one. -

Really? You actually believe that? I don't like the guy, but building his own private army to the tune of 4 trillion dollars so he can become a dictator. No wonder we are losing ground every day. -
