West end/ Vandy area would be close. I would look somewhere around there for a hotel.

I think it's a Northern Watersnake, although it does look pretty big.

I wouldn't have said anything about it in the first place. We can debate if you should, but she had no obligation to tell them she had it at all unless she was asked. If asked, I would tell them where it is and follow all requests, but I don't see a need to just bring it up. I don't say this because I am trying to hide anything or make anyone's job harder. I simply don't consider it a big deal to have it with me and unless there are extenuating circumstances, I am not going to make it a point to make a deal of it. Directly related to the point, if I was asked to unload it, no problem. It isn't worth an argument at that point. I can simply reload it when we are done.

I agree, square trade is good for some items. Check square trade directly and look for promo codes. You should be able to get 20 or 30% off the warranty price most of the time.

Welcome. I grew up in Manteno about 45 miles south of the city. I have some good memories there, but glad to be in TN.

I had one for a long time. I can't speak to the new one's, but in my opinion, the old one's were solid guns for a good price point in an over/under. They had good build quality, but were a little heavy compared to some others. I wouldn't be afraid to buy a new one if that was what I wanted.

I found this on the internet so it must be true (although in this case I thin it is correct). It gives a decent explanation of the difference and why the confusion. It has nothing to do with 22's. http://www.minutemanreview.com/2008/09/clip-vs-magazine-lesson-in-firearm.html

UPDATE: Less than impressed with my 700 accuracy.

If you have or can get some other ammo to try, it is worth it. I would make sure the scope is tightened down good as well just so there is no concern there. If that doesn't help, then I think the only logical point of issue is the stock. It could always just be a gun that doesn't shoot good, but that is a pretty big jump from 100 to 250. I am guessing the stock is flexing and hitting the barrel at some point. -

You will get a million different answers on breaking in a barrel. Some say yes, some say no. I am in the middle category. I usually do something like shoot 5, let cool, run a few patches, shoot 5 more, run a few patches. I do that for about 20 rounds and call it close enough. If it was a bench gun, I may do a more thorough process, but honestly, I don't think that will have much to do with it in this case. What caliber is it? -

I think I would start by replacing the stock as well. The ADL stocks are junk in my opinion. For me it would be better if they just left them off. I suspect it isn't the gun, but most likely in this order: 1: Stock 2: Loose Scope (although if this was the case, I think you would have been even further off) 3: Ammo There a million different Rem 700 stocks. Pick a decent on in your price range and I suspect that would help significantly. I also have some Bell and Carlson and have been happy with them. You may even find a wood takeoff from someone. -
I have had a Fridgidaire 70 Pint for just over two years. It seems to work good. It has good reviews on Amazon. Only issue I ever had was once the coil iced over and I had to let it defrost. My parents just got the same in a 50 pint and it also seems to work well.

I was able to pick up a few small items today. Dies I have no rifle for but know I will get eventually, a couple of cleaning mats, and some powder from Sam. Overall, I didn't think it was bad. I think people have to realize that the days of the old guns shows where deals seemed to be everywhere are over. There are still some out there, but you have to look and be at the right place at the right time. I saw one table with PMAG's at $25 for 20 rounders. :stunned: I know some of these guys probably bought high, but they are going to have eat their cake. Doesn't matter to me, but you would think it's pretty obvious they aren't going to sell them for that. Not the greatest show I have been too, but not the worst by far. With a $2 discount coupon, it was worth $8.

I completely agree. If it was my dog, I would want to know.

Two years ago it was impossible to find. Not so bad now. People have short memories.
-
I always check amazon first. Fastenal may be good too.
-
Usually much better. I will probably go Sunday as well.

I would be very careful about it. I suspect your insurance now would want to become your Secondary insurer and if anything would happen to your new insurance, I doubt the old one would go back to being primary. Only speculation, but I think they will take any reason they can to drop people if it is good for them.

I don't know, but I am guessing its mother was really drunk one night.

I agree, good video. Unfortunately it will never happen. The govt will never walk away form the systems they have and their ability to invade the privacy of everyone. Just mention 911 and all is ok.

Thanks for the info. I guess you are happy with accuracy? It doesn't really need to be that accurate for me as I will not be using it for hunting most likely. I have plenty of other guns for that. I just really want it as a host to play with my suppressor, but I in the end accuracy is always good.
-
Thanks for the offer, unfortunately I am quite a ways away (Nasvhille area). I will be using the Hornady Sizing and Seating Die, and I also have the Lee crimp die. I have only tested cutting off about 15 cases just to get where I have to trim off as little as possible. I am using a Little Crow trimmer to trim them to length and then I will clean and debur them. I haven't tried seating a bullet yet to know how much I need to bell them or use a larger expander ball. I will try them soon and order whatever is needed if it doesn't work as expected. Do you remember what hardness your bullets were from them? Mine are 20 Brinnell and I think they used to be 18. Hopefully the extra bit of hardness will help a little. I guess all I can do it try them and see what happens. My suppressor does come apart for cleaning. I made sure to get one that came apart and that also has stainless baffles, so I am hoping it will be fairly easy to clean. It is actually a 9mm suppressor so it is only rated for Subsonic 300 BLK, but that is all I had intended on shooting anyway. What Model Savage are you using?
-
I will only be reloading and in that only for subsonic rounds. I ordered a 1000 Missouri Bullet 245 gr lead bullets for just this purpose. I am working on cutting down brass and getting it prepped right now. I will be ready for when my suppressor gets here one way or the other :pleased: . Next is just to figure out subsonic loads for my 8.5" pistol and whatever rifle I end up with.
-
I am considering purchasing the gun mentioned above to go along with the 300 BLK pistol I am building with our TGO Lower and Upper. I am about a month away from getting my suppressor in hand and thought this looked like a good bolt action platform to shoot suppressed. It looks like this: Does anyone have any first hand experience with this particular rifle or experience with another bolt action in 300 BLK you have been happy with. I figure it's always fun to have at least two guns in the same caliber. Thanks!
