Just purchased my first ZT folder. Most I have spent on a folder so far. Certainly well built, good lock up and very smooth mech. Good field folder for hard use.

Mine handles better after adding the Pearce mag extensions. The grip is very narrow, .9 in IIRC hence you get some twist/torque. I have had mine for years. It's about the smallest 9mm I would want to carry although for me it's too heavy for the pocket. I just picked up an IWB holster that accommodates the Crimson Trace laser.

I shoot mine better now with the Pearce grip and Crimson Trace.

Mika Roundcut. Looks odd carries and draws great. Robert Mika makes both a Roundcut and square cut.

My favorites. Wife's 642 with CT grips. My M&P 340 with CT 405s. 340 weighs 13 oz and come standard with night sights. Awesome J Frame.

I found that a set of Crimson Trace 405 grips went a long way to reducing felt recoil. That soft rubber and pocket along the blackstrap mitigates a great deal. Sticking with a standard pressure load like a Buffalo Bore for EDC will reduce muzzle flip, getting back on target faster. https://www.buffalobore.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=110 CT 405 and 305

Only two handguns met my criteria when I went looking 8 years ago. Never had reason to go elsewhere. Seecamp .380 Compared with a J Frame. 12 ounces empty. S&W M&P 340. 13.3 ounces. Weight, lack thereof is key.

3 inch in a S&W is typically in much, much greater demand than the 2.5 or 4 inches plus. I hope that wasn't a no lock version and hope even more that it wasn't a 686 CS-1 in 3 inch. :stunned: Where is GTs? Money in the bank. Just have to know what your looking at and buy/sell to someone willing to pay for it more than you did. Over time that's straightforward for certain models and configurations. Forget about anything with a lock for investment/resale. They are ok for shooters though. Get yourself a Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson Book by Supica/Nahas. Start prowling the LG and Pawn shops.

My last find. I really didn't need or want another 686 but I couldn't pass on it either. No dash, 6 inch and the original year of issue. Bought it right, so It is money in the bank and when I do sell it, it will have generated a better profit than the Dow for the last 10 years. I have had a couple of the less expensive Spyderco knives for a few years. Although not extremely robust (haven't messed it up yet though) is my Native. I wanted something light for pocket carry and the Native fits the bill. The other (don't recall the model) I wanted something small to go with a LED 1AAA LED light.

Pics or it didn't happen. :woohoo:

Purchased this bushcraft BHK NIB from a knife Forum member. 01 tool steel, 4 inch blade, 8.5 loa, flat grind with convex edge, stabilized maple scales, JRE Industries sheath. Quite a hefty knife. BHK is out of business so maybe some day it will be a collectors item. Let's see you BHK knives.

That's a BBQ rig for sure. Really nice.

Leather, synthetic, for the woods or a TX BBQ let's see your belt, holster and handgun. I don't have a purdy rig. Here are a couple based on the Wilderness Instructor's Belt. Synthetic holsters and a good blade. Appropriate for the woods or The Zombie Apocalypse.

I would monitor Armslist . http://www.armslist.com/classifieds/tennessee Something like this for example. No lock 686 4inch. Decent price. http://www.armslist.com/posts/2949066/memphis-tennessee-handguns-for-sale--smith---wesson-686

This BCM EAG 14.5 is 6.75. I'm sure with some work 6.5 would easily be attainable. This build is under 7 without the Aimpoint Pro.

Finished another blade today.....

Very nice. Looks great. -
I have a PM9 I like now, but it had to go back to Kahr once. Lots of failures to extract. I had to pay shipping one way (under warranty) and Kahr's customer service to this day is reported to be less than stellar. Kahr claims 200 round break in that meant 400 rounds on me. My XDs had to go back but at least Springfield paid shipping both ways and handled it professionally, with lots of communication and status updates. I always wanted a Kahr like yours (P45 version) but was soured early on by my Kahr experience, glad yours is working out.

No new releases for me. My days of being the early adopter (2 years) are over. Go get them and report back. Are they being manufactured in the US?

Found the one! Garrett Industries holsters

Thanks for the lead and review. I have been looking for something light and tight for my XDs. -
It's difficult to not want them all. ESEE/Rowen is doing a Scandi grind bushcraft style that holds some interest.

686 dash what? Post lock or pre lock? What is the actual barrel length? Condition? Internal and external. Anything special about it? Go to Gunsamerica or Gunbroker.com and do some searching once you know what it is exactly.

5 is a saber grind and thicker. Has the glass breaker. Scale retrofits are the same for both. I like buying here. Competitive prices and you can buy the blade and choose from an assortment of scales. http://www.the-knife-connection.com/rat-cutlery--rc-5-series.html

I like the 5 also, but for some reason (saber grind, thickness of metal?) it is more $$ than the 6. I also didn't need another knife with a glass breaker. Can't go wrong with a 5 or a LS for that matter. The 5 is sort of a sharpened pry bar, good for cutting metal and Plexiglas. For camp chores involving wood I would rather a 6.
