I'm currently re-reading the Posleen war series by John Ringo and yeah, humans are just "thresh". Something for the larder as they march in. Not a comfortable thought. Still better than the baby elephants Niven hits us with in "Footfall". What was he smoking that year??

Taking the day off so I had to go to the local "cupboard" for breakfast with the wife. Had omelet, with cheese, sausage and onion, then applied the Texas Pete for that perfect egg. Home-fries on the side and some non bee killing grits competed the meal. Oh, toast....there was toast in there somewhere too. Toast. Yep, definitely toast.

I'm "mean spirited" that way. I do want them to feel the pinch. If you are going to talk about how the little man is always hurting and "someone should do something", then here's the opportunity to step up and show us you believe and back up what you say.

It may be still going on but years ago I helped SETI in their shared distribution research project. They gave you a small program and a chunk of the noise from the Arecebo dish so that your computer could run an analysis on it to look for modulated or rhythmic signals in that hash of stellar noise. It was a cool project and the idea went on to a cancer project and others using the power of all those PCs out there to help look at small packets of data and send back the results. No, they still haven't found anything, but I like them looking. I think any race advanced enough to be moving among the stars communicates with gravity waves or something that we don't even know about (instantaneous) like the Ansible. Maybe the advanced races have already gone into their Dyson spheres or built and started moving their ringworlds.

I'd like to challenge those who like to promote "giving" in several threads. Jerry does or did it in his MD telethon, challenges to push others is a good thing, so....... I apologize to Brooks in advance, but in all seriousness, there are several amongst us that have of late, lauded how changes in our political systems are so great yet their names are conspicuously absent when it comes to them giving of their time or money. Challenge is thrown, lets see who steps up or just watches. I also challenge everyone who has ever purchased something from me to give something....that ought to be good for another grand right there!

Can't make "everybody" happy. The sides are polarizing because one side sees a bottomless treasure chest that they can reach in and make "everybody" happy with while the other sees the two empty chests (taxes and Social Security Trust Fund) and knows that there is nothing left. It's almost down to cutting time. When do we tell the masses that have their hands out that there is no more and they are now on their own. How long can those of us still working and trying keep up with the burden of so many whose only contribution in some cases was the flip the button on a voting machine to finance their existence? I wish I could counter with the old saying that the churches would help take up the slack but we are way past that being a viable option. It's going to come down to a term you can't imagine in terms of humanity but if you squint you can see it on the horizon, a "correction in the human market" is coming. Going to be ugly but even the enlightened one can't get blood from a turnip.

Is there an extension on the buffer tube? Smaller section that can be unscrewed and removed or one piece tube? Tube may not be of same or compatible with the stock.

You need a carbine buffer and buffer tube. They are different lengths.
