I have no worry that I couldn't change them myself. How do you balance them in your carport though? The spoons are not that expensive, I looked at them but I have no way to ensure they are balanced and that's the biggest reason, time being 2nd, that I didn't explore this further.

My youngest is a member of the Civil Air Patrol cadet program. He is going to his first "boot camp" style training next week and they just published the uniform list. Needless to say we need things that are not run down to Wally world and get. One being 5 brown T-shirts for wear with the BDU's. His unit has been wearing black one's for unit meetings but this training demands the brown so I need to find them locally if possible. If anyone knows where I can get these please advise. I'm off to search some sites and see if shipping would get them here in time but would rather not pay for 2nd day shipping. Help me help a young person who is learning to serve.

Got the tires Saturday evening, Fedex delivered them after I had left to go out at 5:37PM. Those boys work late. Dropped it off yesterday at Paul's ATV and Motorcycle repair outside Westmoreland. Picked it up this evening after work. Seems they did good work, felt very balanced on the short ride home. I'll work them in the rest of the week and see how they do. 98 bucks to mount and balance, 45 per wheel. I wasn't finding it any cheaper elsewhere but would have had to load it in the truck to take it to folks around Nashville. R1100R, I asked the lady who took the phone call last week on the shaft driven bikes but she did not know. Paul wasn't there yesterday and I plum forgot to ask him today. Sorry.

Got my prints in of all places the Sumner Co. Board of Education central offices. They do the electronic scanner as well. The lady said she did more prints for HCP than for the application process for teachers, subs and other staff for the county.

Gregintenn can probably answer this but I thought a couple of ladies in Lafaytette started that business? Or do they just have a franchise over there. Either way, we gotz one up here in the north end of the state.

I hope the break in works but it didn't on the one I had. Wouldn't eat anything. A clean magazine of any ammo was a rare thing. Sold that one to Uselton's. Great looking guns and an amazing size for the round count. But it seemed it would be a rock at best. Good luck and hope yours comes in.

Anyone out there, especially an old tanker, want a piece of history? Or just a honking big piece of brass? Fired from a M48A5 by yours truly on Summer annual training as platoon leader, H Co., 278th Armored Cav, summer 1984. Target, cease fire. As you can see, it's just being a door stop for me. It does clean up nice and shiny but I'm out of Brasso. Holler if interested.

oh and as far as cleaning an XD. Break it down and use Hoppes', CLP or Kroil after doing a good wipe with plain dry cleaning patches. When you can't get black out of any nook or cranny, then apply the cleaner to the patches and go everywhere again. You'll start to find objects that help you in those special hard to reach places. I have an old turkey call striker that helps push patches in the slide, some gun cleaning Q-tips, long swabs that can reach on in there. Everywhere you can see on the XD you need to clean. When you feel comfortable, you can find a small dowel or other thin diameter tool and push the striker channel in and remove the back plate and clean the striker channel and firing pin. Rem oil can be used in a pinch but won't deep clean like a solvent. Kroil does good everywhere!!

Which branch were you in? We could have been bleeding or on fire and the armorers would turn you away the first time you tried to turn in after cleaning just on general purpose that it wasn't possible to clean an M-16 properly.

Then your slide lock catch is probably worn. Number 33 on this diagram. It's just a pin or detent that is pushed up by the magazine follower as the last bullet is pushed into the chamber and the slide comes back. You should be able to visually see that this is occuring by placing a inert case or snap cap in the mag and inserting the magazine in the frame with the slide off the pistol. Replace/shoot.
