  1. So who's bringing the tent and who's cooking? Or do we just run down to the Bean Pot?
  2. Somebody bring up fungus and toe jam and this thread is complete!
  3. When firing first loadings, note the box or row in the box your shooting then shoot one at a time and observe them then, not after they are all laying on the ground. If you do have an issue, find it with the first or second round, not when you get home and find out the brass is ruined and you have shavings in the chamber. After you get it worked in good you can do cursory inspections. Your issue might just be on one pistol and not the ammo at all.
  4. I think that is Mike.357s chipmunk sniper hide.
  5. But he might sell it cheap! Nah, I want his CZ when he gets bored with that one.

    Big Brother

    That's still on? Wow.
  7. So you allow pink Christmas Trees in your house? I think I would have just said I shot the gnome and all was now well.
  8. Watch out....I see a gnome sneak attacking your blueberrys!
  9. okay, I'm in before this phenomenal lock
  10. Dad gum it boys....that's my sister!
  11. At least he's still ahead of Obama's productivity rating and the economy.
  12. 500-600 yards would be reasonable shots with the .340. Generally, you'll have trouble finding a long enough area to shoot it where you can accurately walk those long shots in to the target. You would have to start close and walk "out". Scopes? Leupy VXIII or VXIV, Zeiss, NightForce, Burris Black Diamond....goes on and on. For those ranges, 24x is mandatory and an adjustable focus. Mine just had a 3-9x Burris Fullfield II and I never maxed it out. I need to start saving up and see if Kahrman will sell mine back to me once the cash flow stabilizes.
  13. I'm a baaaaaad boy. (head hung low, trembly lips) nah Now I'll have to up the ante somehow. What can I give Bronker's kid that he will talk about that might make him cringe? Can't be Birkenstocks, done got them...should have been enough....hmmmm I know, a bullwhip and a blackjack. Your family has mules....just what he needs. He can talk about em at school and church and future doc visits. Yeee Haawwww
  14. Love that kid. Oops on the nerf....ah, not really.

    Name it?

yep. The Rock River Arms Universal Tactical Entry 2 is of course "Ootay". The 458 Socom was "Sockem". Not all of em but some get a name. Maggie was easy to tag the .340 Wby Magnum...LOL
  16. How are you applying it? Tru Oil is not a brush on paint. I use my finger. Thin, thin, thin coats and dry. Super fine steel wool between sessions to "sand" and bring up the luster. Here's what you get when you do that Don't go ripping on my super valuable Savage now that you can see the serial number! LOL
  17. +1 on Summit climbers. I have the Titan and previously a Python. My first climber was a Wally World Hunter's View I think and wouldn't go back to that ever. The Summit's are so comfortable that it's almost problematic as you can sleep in em (not that I would do that...). Probably the second most expensive part of your entry to dedicated hunting but you can hunt from the ground to start. Climbers and ladder stands just give you a better opportunity as your above the normal viewing of deer and other animals. They help, they won't allow you just just hang out. You still have to be still and move slowly and quietly to take a shot. http://www.outdoorsexperience.com/summittitan.html
  18. No, I have been trying to get you to go hunting for about 2 years. Wasn't asking you to go to Wayne Co cuz I needed a maid or cook. But since we're talking about it, can you clean and cook? Bronker just watches the rain. McFlurry scares away turkey.
  19. Since I can't see the cannellure of the bullet and the pic makes it look like the shoulder is set back a bit, I'm going with a load that got a bit to much pressure seating the bullet. That will cause the round to feed funny as it's stripped off the mag head. The other guys beat me to it but I was hoping you had not rodded it out. That mark on the bullet looked like scratches I've seen on muzzle loader rounds I've pushed out before at the end of a season though. My books are out in the shop but just holding it next to another cartridge should tell you a bit if that shoulder is bulging. Throw the calipers to it though and see. If that was the only bad round, chaulk it up to mass production, pull the bullet, dump the powder and neutralize the primer with some WD40 and move on. If it happens with some other rounds and different makes you'll have to start thinking burr on the feed ramp or issues with the lips of a magazine making the rounds dive.
  20. Hook.....Line and a Titan Player to be named later!!!
  21. A gumby doll.
  22. Standard feed ramp or M4 cuts?
  23. Do you have calipers? It may just be the pic but that shoulder looks set back. Is there a ridge or burr along the front where it first necks down? That could have been caused if the bullet hung up on the feed ramp or caused it to jam. How did you get it out? Cleaning rod from the muzzle? That could have caused the damage to the bullet.
