seeing em all over the place here in Sumner and Wilson counties on the way to work. Heck, two were bedded down watching traffic go by last week just off I-40 near 109. Not 40 feet off the road. I'm missing not being able to hunt this fall.

Only if there are no other options AND I can leave it where I start shooting it. Tannerite might come into the equation at that point.

Our 1994 or 1995 Astro is on it's last legs. The transmission is slipping. I think the best option is to sell it for parts to a junk yard or similar but have never done this. Obviously I have a clear title and no payments so anything I can recoup from getting rid of it would be a nice bonus. So, anyone need parts for this era van? Know of a junkyard that will buy it in the middle TN area (56Fordguy, your area of expertise here?) Engine is running but my son had to park it in a store parking lot after making it in a town tonight. Wife and I went and got it a bit ago and it's at the house but it's toast. When the service engine light came on a few months back, we had the codes checked and all it will say is transmission part slipping. Tech said it was iffy on a rebuild for such a low value vehicle so we have just been using it for local runs. It might be something one of you shade tree guys knows what to do to make it usable again. Engine is tight. Neither the engine or tranny are leaking any fluids. Thoughts and suggestions from the TGO crew?

Reliable distance with out doing things like shimming the scope, 250 - 300 like 56 said. The old forum, 458socomforums is apparently down for the count, but there are pictures floating around that were posted there, maybe on AR15.com in the variants section, showing a fellow's set up using a ladder sight like Quigley Down Under, he mounted on his Socom. He was ringing a gong at over 700 yards with it. Kinda like shooting artillery at that range though, lots of "angle" on the gun. LOL It's a big bore round. The performance depends on the bullet characteristics, the quality of the barrel, the match up of powder charge and burn rate...more than I care to calculate for what I do with it. Shooting 300 to 450 grain hollow points accurately out to 100 yards is all I have asked of it and it delivers. All my previous data was obtained using a custom PacNor barrel reamed by the developer of the round so it was an awesome rig. The new upper is coming from Rock River so I'll have to see if the previous loading data is as accurate as it was before. Anyone interested in the caliber, feel free to PM me and send me an email address and I'll shoot you the loading data I have. I can also let anyone that wants to see the rig, once delivered. I would offer to let you shoot it but scheduling a meet to shoot would be difficult now a days with my work schedule. If your seriously interested in a big bore AR though, PM me and we can discuss more details and possible week day meet in the greater Nashville area to push a few rounds down range. I can also assist you in getting your upper.

56k, BWW is Buffalo Wild Wings.

Got my first batch of bullets for the Socom. Didn't even open the old 300 grainers. The new Barnes TSX 450's though are sweet. (that's a .223 next to em) You ready now Jeff?

Welcome to reloading Bronker.

Mmmmm backstrap.
-
Really? One of the few...and you've met me. LOL So when you going to throw down and order a real firearm in .458 there Bronk? Mine (number 2) is being made as we speak.
-
Nice job Mike. When do we have fried backstrap?
-
They let you own both! Start with the single, especially for the larger rounds like the 458. You won't be loading hundreds of them at a time. Get the progessive for your .223 and pistol rounds after you get used to all the stuff going on in reloading.

DO THIS !! ^

Bwahahahah Money....yeah, save some....yeah What?

Dude....I thought we had this discussion. I can get us Redding Dies for the 458 for 68 plus 5 dollars shipping. Case gauges made from the stubs of the barrels as they make them are 25.00. I'll shoot you a PM. Ordering mine this week. I can make it a X2 if you want. I can get you that and send you a smaller check for that other item we discussed. Shoot me a PM with your email and I'll send you some load data to look over.

Didn't Rayburns restaurant recently have a sewage leak? Thought I read that somewhere as well. -

my Dell laptop is having service manager issues as well. Has been since last Saturday. I get two SVC Host errors and then everything apparently works. Next one that happens I'll try for a screen shot. It shoots a message off to Micro soft but nothing for a fix.

Just push the two trigger retaining pins through and hold on when the hammer spring starts to uncoil. Look it all over before doing it so you get the spring back in the correct position when you put it all back in. It takes some pressure to hold the hammer down against its spring when replacing the pin. If you need references, AR15.com has this guide. Assemble your own LOWER, UPPER, FREE FLOAT, TRIGGER, GAS BLOCK - Step by step instructions! - AR15.COM Have fun with it and let us know what you find in there.

TGO's Sumner County Adopt-A-Highway (Choosing a date)
Rightwinger replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in Events and Gatherings
Does that mean we have to do it at night with Surefire flashlights? -
Mine ain't about hockey....figure it out. LOL
-
Sorry, misread that and thought you hadn't seen it. Hmmm. Can you move the hammer while pushing on the safety and get movement in the trigger group? Did ALL the detent come out? I would say post up a pic but we won't see much.
-
Get a small diameter metal pick and reach up in the lower and grab that spring. It's bunged up and holding the detent into the safety.

It keeps downloading pictures of Lindsey Lohan in jail.....whats up with that.
