  1. No work tonight or tomorrow! Digging into the console of the beater to put in some dash lights and a new heater core. If you aren't doing anything huge, bring your best mechanic hat up the hill and I'll save you a chunk of THIS! The wife wanted to celebrate anyway, did the Wally walk to get the components!
  2. Batch being prepared as I type!!! Wife forgot to get the Oreo's but when she saw the pics, she went back to the store! Thanks for sharing.
  3. I know there are two more in middle TN as of last week. They should be posting soon!
  4. Cost, time enjoyed doing something I love (me time), better loads, passing a tradition to my son.
  5. My father had a company that was supposed to drag the wood out with mules but then had to use a tractor so that lowered the profit. He was doing "select cut" not clear cut and he got some cash out of it but the tax implications cut even more of that out. As stated above, the wood is worth something but unless its something in high demand, easily accessible and in amounts to make it worth it, it really isn't that big a cash income. If you can do a lot of the work your self and just have it hauled you might make it very worthwhile. Our land was all downhill for the loggers and we wondered what made it so hard for them to not use the mules. They ended up putting such deep ruts in the road to our cabin that we had to ask them to come back and drag the road, which they did, begrudgenly, and minimally. If you hire it out, be prepared for a much lower profit margin. The company you use makes a big difference as well. My brother had some bottoms clear cut on his land and they had to skid load everything up hill to decks on the ridges, but the better run/managed company worked harder and got him more profit, albeit for a larger tract of land. Your mileage may vary.
  6. Danger/Fire Alert!!! Got this light just before Christmas off Ebay. $25.00 (16.99 for light and 9.00 shipping) seemed like a great deal! Comes with 2 UltraFire rechargeable batteries and the charger as well as a tough aluminum SureFire/Streamlight knock off light. 1st light while bright and progammable for 5 settings (high, med, low, strobe and SOS) the thing would switch between settings so I sent it back. The Chinese group was very quick to send me another light and it's worked well.....but. Last week my wife informed me that while I was sleeping, she and one of my boys heard a POP in the kitchen and walked in to find a cylinder laying on the floor smoking!! She kicked at it and it rolled to a new spot where it burned a 2nd spot in the linoleum! She got a pot holder and carried it outside where it proceeded to catch the pot holder on fire! Here's what that blue battery now looks like Needless to say, with the remaining battery, I'll have to plug it in and watch it. I work nights so I'm sleeping during the day and can't trust this rig not to burn me out. They are still selling on ebay under several vendors so beware!! 1300Lm UltraFire C8 CREE XM-L T6 LED 5Modes Flashlight Torch + charger + Battery | eBay UltraFire 1300 Lumens CREE XM-L T6 C8 5 mode LED Torch Flash + 2x18650 | eBay
  7. HALO 4 (non violent ver) Sales reported as "dismal"
  8. If he recongizes Marty as the force behind it, fine. He did bring Tony Rumore in from Tromix for his re-creation of the tri gas system AR so I would hope he states he's just assembling someone elses creation. The Socom Forum has always been low key and slower paced. Devoted to only one caliber with a smaller base of support, it doesn't draw or sustain a lot of the things that cause problems here.
  9. If we can dream it they can build it (especially after someone else has done the engineering). He's selling Socoms? I would have thought that would have been announced on the Socom forums...
  10. Got to watch some TV with the down time away from work and tonight I see the boys at Red Jacket are going to make a big bore AR15 ! ! Such innovation and ingenuity! Just like some of the other "new" things they have done that's years or centuries old. They're new idea? Looks like the 458 Socom to me. Gonna hunt pigs with it? Got pictures on the 458 socom forum that are years old. Now the teaser doesn't mention caliber so it could be another big bore caliber but it's not a straight wall case so it's not 450 Bushmaster or 50 Beowulf. I'm wondering if Marty Ter Weeme and Rock River Arms have anything to say about this "new" pig killer. Time will tell. Red Jacket may make cool AK/Saiga variants but he's not doing anything new that I can see. I'll have to watch to see now so they did grab my attention but for all the wrong reasons.
  11. Same thing seen at the Chrysler, Jefferson North Assy plant earlier this year. No follow up investigation or announcements that I heard. And you wonder why jobs move away from that cess pool? I would be interested to see what, if anything occurs when managment seeks to act and their union steps in.
  12. My Savage 110 (in 30-06) is one of my NEVER sell rifles. It's seen more action than any 3 I own. Get to know it and reserve a spot in your safe for yours.
  13. Spoolie, I have some .22 that was touched by Chuck Norris if you want them.
  14. Carry on sir, carry on and thanks for caring. I chew tobacco so second hand anything would be pretty harsh. I guess I could carelessly fling my wad as I pass the guy/gal that just tossed a butt that hit my bike. SPLAT I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate that.
  15. They will hire direct but if you want to check them out, they do a lot of temp to hire as well so both sides are protected. 773-9292 and ask which temp services they are currently using.
  16. Ya'll do what ya want, freedom almost still rings for the smokers. I only ask you all to remember my ONE pet peeve about smokers, don't just throw your butts down anywhere you happen to be. The smoking area, the entrance to most buildings, the stop sign/lights. I've been lucky I haven't been burned yet by the thoughtless acts of smokers who just toss them out the window as I happen to be following on my bike (and NO I wasn't to close, those things fly like crazy in the vortex behind a vehicle). Spread the word please.
  17. There should have been 10 cent tax stamp stickers ON the boxes. Maybe they do it different but the tax is rolled into our price and everything out for sale must have the stamp on it.
  18. Bwahhahahaha Wait, I leave to go hunting Thursday!
  19. The toolheads come in handy when you find that sweet load and don't intend to change anything! Slip it on and go to town. If your defense ammo and plinker can load to the same specs in say the 9mm, then you have really cut down your set up time and can't start rolling ammo in minutes. You mostly want to check the powder throw and go.
  20. Socom, its really catching on so no longer considered a wildcat. Factory ammo, easily reloaded and bookoo types of bullet selection. Course I'm biased.
  21. Reloading kit? Help ya get em "sized" just right
  22. Bulk ammo shipment!
  23. Chuck is considered a nuclear option and not available to the public.
  24. Nate, I don't think we can continue with the sling shot discussion as it appears to be a military application
