Paul, Get on 458 Socom Forums and get who ever is handling Marty's business while he's out of the country or see if someone will sell you their case chamber. SBR may have some as well but get a case gauge and run every round, factory or reload through it before you shoot them. http://www.sbrammunition.com/index.html I heard they were going to be helping manufacture uppers when Marty went overseas but I don't see them on the website. Like Mike said, it's a notorious problem for the round due to it's size and so many reloads being done. The one we had at the shop was just pushed together on an empty case from one of our other customers after he did a batch of lead solid castings. It did NOT want to chamber and I had to do a bit of tapping on the charging handle of Mike's RRA upper to get it free.

Well I'm back on the laptop. Don't know what ever was ever really wrong other than trying to restore to a previous restore point after a windows update. The problem with the recovery was ME. I just found the CORRECT restore disk not recalling that I had a previous XPS machine from Dell years ago and that's why it threw XP on this one. Got the right DVD restore disk in, pulled up my last restore point from 9/9/13 and BAM, back in business. I'm so glad I have that auto restore point set up on the external. Lot's of good info in the thread guys. To bad you were talking to a dummy. Thanks all -

Well I got the reinstall disk to install XP on the machine but it is not the Windows 7 that was on it. That is all still present on the other partition. I can get to the data I need and burn it to a CD and then play with it some more. Dolomite, if you can dig some more on that command please do. I'll try ALT F11 here in a bit but I'm probably to the point that I'll screw it up more now that I have two OS's going. Oh and the only way I got it to boot the windows disk was to change the Hard drive setting from ACHI to ATA. Really weird. I have always like the Dells because I order what I want and it comes to the door step but having all the stuff (wireless, USB, sound card, etc) also wired in, which do not work at present bites. If nothing else, I will save up a month or two and buy another and have a nice 500 GB hard drive I can format and use onboard along with my 1 TB external. I made the mistake of putting my monthlys on a spreadsheet and forgetting to back it up to the external for a few months so I didn't know what and when I was set to make some payments. That's also why I was not in a hurry to let anyone dig into the machine until I could get that stuff off the desktop. Not saying any of the folks that have offered to work on it would do anything with my info but I just don't like having anything out there...ya know. Sam, I may take you up on your offer once I find time to coordinate dropping it off. Do you think you can bring it back with the other OS still present on the D partition? -

Cannot boot in SAFE mode folks! It will not do it. This is a Dell so the disk is a "reinstallation" disk, not the standard Win 7 disk. All I can do is set it to boot from DVD drive instead of the hard disk at this point and it begins installation of the files then does the same crash. I need to get to a command prompt somehow to try and clear the boot log or cache. -

Allright, tried the memory stick pull and restart, still crashed. For all those saying go to safe mode, it won't. I've tried safe mode, safemode with networking, safemode with command prompt. Even boot logging, won't go. It won't start off the DVD drive using the windows installation disk. Swapped the 4gig mem stick for the 2gig secondary so its got to be in the boot cache but i tried the option of last known good configuration. Vid card seems fine. When I run diagnostics it looks fine, mouse works. I just need a way to get to the command prompt. How do I get a command prompt off a usb or disk. I can burn or copy to either on my wife's machine I'm using now. -
I used the ACE stock on my first 458, then a standard A2 stock. The last one I used was the fixed Rock River Arms operator stock. Lightweight, great cheekweld, storage in the butt plate. http://rockriverarms.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_id=540 Little pricey again but well worth it. Got one on the LAR8 which I will be hunting with this year.

I'll do the memory removal tomorrow morning (going to bed now, 3rd shift here). Thanks Dralarms. Keep the suggestions coming. If I can't find a DIY I'll be contacting some of the folks that have posted or PMd. Thanks folks. -
My laptop is dead! It blue screened on me last Thursday. Says PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED. The machine is a Dell XPS with Core I5 chips, Windows 7. I have run diagnostics on it (it will still get into those screens and it says the hard drive is fine after like 6 hours of extensive checking of each sector. I cannot get it to boot in safe mode and I have tried the factory DVD reinstall disk. It loads all the windows files and then crashes from there as well. I have Mcafee running so don't think its a virus and I think it was caused by the info below. It started after I tried to roll back to a earlier system restore point. Windows rolled out a update last week and it popped my factory installed Office programs. I had a limited version that showed advertisements on the side bar but I could use Word and Excel with no issues. After the update it wanted me to buy Office. So I figure I would just roll it back....then BOOM crash crash crash. Technical Info says ***STOP: 0x000000006B (then four 0x000000000000000000 lines) What have I done, is it salvagable? Anyone in the local Nashville area that can bring it back for a reasonable fee or want some ammo? (.223, 308) Please advise as I don't want to be locked on my wifes laptop for any time. RW

Got mine Saturday but my laptop crashed (and is still crashing). Mine flips just fine. This is a huge knife for a pocket carrier but the reviews on it said it would be. My only gripe is the grip is so defined that it will probably be impossible to carry it in a pocket till I can grind off a little of the G10 on that side so it doesn't rip my pockets up. I don't know if it's a fake, looks like every other picture I've seen and its sharp and works well. Worth the 40 bucks (tax and shipping) to me. Sorry to the others that didn't get what they were expecting or nothing at all.

I have confirmed shipment and order delivery date of tomorrow (Saturday)! ! ! Will let you all know afternoon if it arrives.

I own both and like them both. I'm liking Vortex more at the present. Diamondback = VX2 Viper (PST) = VX3 or Mark IV quality. Also have their StrikeFire on a AR and have been impressed by it's quality as well.

I can't disclose the location or company, if any of you know me and who I USED to work for which is a Union shop, then you can figure it out but there are going to be a whole bunch of union workers not working soon because they wouldn't budge on some "additional" pay structure and now they will have NO jobs. Smart bunch of guys and gals. The company was not going to touch base pay or benefits but needed some wiggle room to negotiate renewal of the contracts (automotive) and now they can all go look for new employment. I saw the writing on the wall and got out before the rush. I think some of them think that the location will reopen under a new company and then they can start the union again....not gonna happen. The TRW folks in Lebanon are on strike right now. I pass them every day and have to restrain myself from telling them all their number one in sign language. Probably some of the highest paid workers in the area but nope, they want more. If it weren't for bailouts, those super productive auto workers (who run down to the mini mart and grab a beer on break or smoke dope http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/12/08/chrysler-workers-canned-for-drinking-on-job-reinstated/ ) would be out of jobs. Nope, say what you want, union shops are not the way to go and I want to thank the previous poster for making most of my points while stealing company time. This one's for you....Mr. Union Worker guy
-
Sorry Mike but there is something wrong with that. If they don't like the pay rate, benefits, hours, etc, move on. Free country. Unions suck companies dry, decrease productivity and lower quality. Period. If any worker has a serious issue of safety or other non money grab issue, there are any number of attorneys or state and fed agencies ready to swoop in and protect them. Their time has passed.

Thanks Mike. It's a futile wish with all those looking up with envious eyes reinforcing each others thoughts that "hell yes you should make 16 bucks an hour flipping burgers", while telling doctors and engineers they should do their jobs for less than what it will take to pay off their educations because its just not fair the money they make.

Picked up another motorcycle and insurance problems.
Rightwinger replied to blizzard's topic in General Chat
I'm currently with USAA and have been since 1989. They don't insure motorcycles but "partner" with Progressive for MC insurance. Basically Progressive said they will issue for anything but it might cost you more per year for insurance on a super bike than the bike cost to purchase. -
Along those lines, workers who have no desire to learn skills DEMANDING higher wages and when market won't support it, going union. This week fast food workers (in New York and other big lib cities) struck demanding a doubling of the minimum wage. I won't name the place but I learned that a place I formerly worked at has probably lost their contract. They brought in the union at the location and told them, the only way to compete to keep the contracts are to FREEZE wages and for one portion of the group, remove some extraneous extra incentives. No change to base pay or insurance packages. They seem to think the management group was just bluffing and refused any changes to the agreement. Now they will all be looking for employment. Good work to that leadership group. Find your place in life and know what your abilities will bring. Then live within those means and quit looking up at those willing to work harder, get smarter and produce more, with envy.

Big zero here as well. We were within earshot of several large corn fields and never saw dove one. Heck the only thing flying were buzzards and dragonflys. Will try again tomorrow.

Yup, still run a quick swipe of Imperial over the 45 acp, just to run a bit easier.
