The volume powder measures are ok to increase your speed IF you get the quality scale and trickler. Never try to throw charges with only the powder measure. If I need 50 grains, I play with my measure to get me to 48-49 and then trickle the rest onto my Dillon electronic scale and I'm always assured of a accurate load to +/- .01 grains! He also would want one of the new plastic pouring gunpowder holders to catch that first "close" measure then tricke it into it on the scale and then pour it in the cartridge. Throw, trickle, pour...move to press.

I guess it would depend on your caliber there partner!

We hunt them in south central TN, west of I-65. I will knock one down if out and about in summer because they are taking domestic animals and calfs in the area we hunt in BUT I prefer to hunt them in winter and we do skin them out. Now that we are getting pretty decent at the calling, I want to sell the skins. There is a market for them but I haven't gotten more than one per year to try and sell any. My son got a nice one last year during muzzleloader.

+ 1 on the Lee Anniversary kit. Get it from Midway or Cabelas and have it shipped to your door, then open it and toss the scale and powder measure! While your out and about or ordering online, get a set of calipers (digital or analog), a decent electronic scale and a good powder trickler along with dies for your favorite caliber and get started. Rifle rounds are the best starters as you don't HAVE to crimp and you just throw good equal measures of powder and get them all to the recommended overall length (OAL) and your ready to roll your own. Also, do not allow for distraction of any kind when reloading, no kids wanting to help, no watching football games, etc. Even music in the background should be minimal. You cannot afford mistakes in this hobby.

I'm the one causing my little brother to smile (I was missing the small target he set up way.....out.....there) I also look a little deformed in the jaw....I was outside so I had some chewing tobacco rolling. Southern tradition and all...right? -
Got the Sabre from this guy selling em out of his VW van in the Boro ! ! Seriously, folks, that is one of ETS's special TN 3 star logo lowers and they are sweet. Much better machining than the Oly you see on the 6.8. Better finish. If I ever build another AR I'll be getting another Sabre. I just don't know what else I would build now....don't want a Grendel as its so close to the 6.8. Maybe one of these years I'll go for a SBR. By the way, if anyone wants a varmint special, the .204 is simply the nastiest laser I have ever shot. Zero at 100 and your good at anything closer and don't have to move it but a hair out to 250/300. You'll have problems finding an area long enough to shoot in. 600 yards is very doable with this round. I'm rambling...back to flipping between Future Weapons and Florida kicking LSU in the backside. Later all I'll post a pic of the monster .458 when it arrives soon.

Love to archery hunt. Haven't gotten a shot this season so far, to hot and the only deer I have seen were being pushed by two dogs (arrghh, maybe dog meat for supper next time). You may have done this and just not posted that you did, is to immediately go still and then sit back down and wait. Half hour is good, an hour is better. Don't let the deer even know what just happened and let it lie down and die. The last two I stuck didn't even get out of sight, I just froze and then slowly sat back down in the stand and waited till all movement ceased and then waited some more. As the other poster said, unless its a riduculous easy shot for you, pass, there will be more opportunities, probably that same day if they are moving near you and not winding ya. Good luck and shoot straight.

I can't even remember if I've already posted...

Oh crap, my addiction monitor just went off. Have to go to counseling to get it reset. -
Slight hijack but Verbal Knit....your post on page one of the thread shows the Insight X3. Have you had any issues with it (yet). I bought one for a very shortlived period when I tried to go small with a Para Night Hog and the darn light could only be described as pi$$ poor. Dim white light, laser would track off after shooting and then the darn thing would not keep the battery compartment closed! The plastic housing just felt, looked and acted cheesy! Sent it back and then traded the jamming and FTE Wart Hog for my present carry, Kimber Compact Stainless II and never looked back. Can't attach the TLR-1 to that one but it hangs well on the Taurus PT 24/7 and the Kimber Desert Warrior:) Just wondering if I got a lemon, although they are all plastic housed not metal like the Streamlights. Back to HK talk and Tungsten your host. (very nice by the way Tungsten, you may have talked me into one the next time I see some non essential funds).

Oh and by the way Fury.... What's the background on your Avatar? I find myself looking at it every time you post! Do you have a bigger version you could post so I can see the detail? Wasn't there a SciFi show called Serenity? As big a scifi fan as I am I just don't get to watch tube much anymore and if I am watching its football or Dirty Jobs/Most Dangerous Catch/Mil channel and the occassional sit and stare when they have shots from the space station on Nasa channel.

Thank you. I owe it all to Frank. (royalty payments can be made in tacticool stuff Frank)
-
I also want to thank Frank for his excellent customer service and availability as a vendor. Folks, buy from this guy and help him become one of our bigger local sources! He hooked me up with a Mesa Tactical pic rail for the 870 Police Mag he sold me and even installed it (only cost me breakfast and good shop talk for the install and I was going to eat at the Barrel anyway!). This is what he did for me....one could be yours, if you wake him up and get him a biscuit!

Exactly. Federal Govt should protect us, link us together through an Interstate Highway system and thats it. We can vote on a couple of other fringe bennies like National Weather System...I like that. NASA, I like it but it's not neccessary, and probably the FCC so we don't have 500K watt AM stations burning holes in our fillings like down in Mexico. Other than that, States should decide by vote of their representation and poplular vote how the citizens there want to live. I have never seen a accident victim not picked up by an ambulance and treated, everything else is that persons responsibility. Family and churches should assist in those other needs.

Here Here.....I call for the question!

Nope, it was the military industrial complex BACKED by the bankers that did em in. Booth was a patsy.

I be dat dufus......it go bang when I want it to go bang, the rest of the time it and the phycus in the window talk quietly.

Yep, no malice intended to ZZ for the Glocks. I tend to try and cause a laugh or two in all the sites I belong to. I actually tried the compact Glock in .45 before getting my second Kimber, a Custom Stainless. I held it and it just did not fit! I was also dumping a (IMO POS) Para Ordinance Warthog at the time. I guess I'm partially tupperware myself as well as my "nightstand" pistol is a Taurus PT 24/7 because I like the light on it. It has never had any firing issues so I feel its reliable and it was very cost effective for the budget and thus lets me keep my Kimbers in the safe!
-
Bravo Mars....Bravo
-
I sure missed something in translation. There had been no triggertime posts when I "joked" on ZZ with the "ware" pic. Was that the infamous Yeager of lore? By the way, I would not throw a Glock out of the gun safe, if anyone wants to totally convert me I'm easy, just give me one for a few months.
-
Really ? I thought they got it from Asian thugs....huh, how bout that.
-
ZZ we're practically neighbors so I felt I could throw you a joke. (I'm up the hill from you in Westmoreland). Now for a serious question since you own and are familiar with Glocks. A buddy of mine thinks his extractor is broke on his G34....what do you think?
