  1. The RRA standard chambering is NATO so 5.56 and .223 are fine.
  2. Get a Wylde chamber if your especially worried about the minor differences, but the RRAs shoot both 5.56 and .223 ! Buy it and shoot it. Of course they disclaim for their warranty that you should shoot only brass factory cased ammunition so Wolf Blasting would "void" a warranty but you gotta do what you gotta do. Here is a link and you will see it shoots both. The link to their Wylde chamber is near the top/middle of the page. Don't worry bout it if you go RRA! http://www.rockriverarms.com/item-detail.cfm?ID=AR0874X&storeid=1ℑ=uelute07.gif&CFID=553403&CFTOKEN=97676976
  3. Ron Paul has some great positions on things but he is currently an un winnable candidate as he does not have the exposure needed to succed yet. Fred is our best bet to defeat the commie libtards! We all have to come together as conservatives to win. Let Ron get his first exposure this run and come back in 8 years for his shot!
  4. Fantastic quality for the dollar from RRA. The only issue the last two years is they are experiencing so much popularity along with the metal shortages that sometimes their stuff is hard to come by. If you can wait 10-12 weeks then you will get a great upper. It may come sooner, but plan on 3 months from order date. They have a sale going on right now for certain uppers I think as well!
  5. I'm getting that headache again Maw....can you get me the asprin? Come on everyone, people are watching. Take something from the postings or choose not to. Don't rip each other just because this medium makes it easy to. What I want to know is how do I rack the slide on that pistol I was forced to leave at home because some work I had to do was on Federal (Corps of Engineer land) and I was afraid me or the truck would get checked. What training can help me there! See, theres always a bigger problem!
  6. Damn Tungsten, Now I'll never sleep! Santa Fett is coming to town.....to WHACK you! You better watch out, you better not run, you better not pull out your puny laser gun, Santa Fett is coming to town. He SEES YOU WHEN YOUR SLEEPING ! He KNOWS WHEN YOUR AWAKE ! He knows if you've been to Hero Gear so buy the SIG for goodness sake! Santa Fett is flying through town!
  7. Me thinks Illinois is almost big enough to qualify as a Province and can be annexed by Canada at any time. Of course the cool companies like Rock River Arms and such should evacuate immediately.
  8. Was that the "green" one St.??? Just kidding, the young ones won't even get it.
  9. Count on it! I love showing that thing off. Especially when I drop an inert 5.56 round all the way through the barrel!
  10. Sarah, We have an old saying in the logistics world (probably just our little part of the logistics world) "That's a little NOT good" Negligent discharge is serious stuff. You do need to get some time one on one with a certified instructor and keep practicing with the smaller calibers like .22 and .25. Good luck
  11. I was lucky enough to be the guest of Joe and Dan (short visit from Sam and Joes wife :up:as well) at Hero Gear today. Folks, these are nothing but classic hard working patriots putting out the good stuff for the local folks as well as State and National customers as called upon. Joe and Dan were both busy with phone calls, other customers, a big contract going out to a defense guy and they all had time to show me around, let me "touch" the merchandise and give my goodies the look over for a trade/sale. I got to see more EBRs in one room than I have since leaving the armory for my last company in the Army! Joe has it all folks! You want high end 1911 he has 20 if he has one. You want the new AR-10 platform...how many you want to pick up and hold? Need lights on that weapon? Optics red dot or scope? I saw it all today in one stop shopping! Joe and I worked out our deal, I was MORE than pleased, I purchased my new S&W 642 pocket pistol, some ammo, a pocket holster and of course....The TGO hat ! Joe then throws me one of his hats and stuffs it in the bag... Plain and simple, no matter what part of the state your in, you will be impressed with what he has to offer, even if its just sitting on the couch listening to his wife correct his directions to the place:p Joe, I had a great time, I will be back, I have already told a LEO and a friend about your shop and the great people there. BUY AT JOES Hero Gear, where the elegant southern boys shops!
  12. Just clean it good and buy UMC or Magtech for plinking and the good stuff (Hornady is my choice) for defense/carry and it will work fine. If you want 200 more rounds of crap to chuck through it I have have it...cheap AMERC. 20 bucks and its all yours, of course you'll probably have to pull the slide back, and back, and back, and then manually pull one out. This stuff was sold to me as "bulk" .45 from a guy in Georgia. I would send it back to him but it isn't worth it. I put about 30 through a SA Commander micro 2 years back and even that thing wouldn't chew on it well enough to get any satisfaction from it. If you want it, like I said, 20 bucks for 200 rounds but you sign a disclaimer holding me harmless from kabooms and carpal tunnel. RW
  13. I have two NEF Pardner shotguns in 20 gauge for my boys. Excellent shooters for the price. They used them this year for turkey season and can if need be used with slugs should they want to use them during deer season. No issues with them, easy to use and crisp on the trigger. American made in Gardner Mass (unless they shipped it off recently to Usafghanlamigad or something) Buy away!
  14. Yep, I had to write to Maryland to get a certified one as well as the photo copy I had carried around my whole life, service included was denied! Another good thing to know is if you give them an extra $5.00 and ask to fill out a duplicate form at the same time, you will get two HCP permits. This way you can keep one in your primary vehicle at all times and one on your person. Will help if you forget your wallet that one time eh!
  15. Awake Calvin and Hobbes rule....when I'm sleeping, Bo Peep would scare the beejeezus out of me if she stood over me. Just the way I have always been. Even the wife doesn't stand over me when she learned in 89 that I wake up "fast" to being touched. Cuddling happens pre sleep, never during! Now that Boba Fett pic is just plain scary! I place Boba right up there with Clint Eastwood glaring down at me....now I'll never sleep tonight.
  16. Tungsten I hate your Avatar, its keeping me up nights...yours and Towerclimbers. I hate that looking up or waking up and seeing something horrible looking down at me....come to think of it...I need to talk to my wife about waking me up too!
  17. I agree with Joe. My first rifle after getting out of the service many moons ago was a Savage 110 and I still have it. The guy looking for a decent shooter with low budget (and boy was I) will love these. I don't know if your area would allow for the niche of aftermarket stocks but that is what makes a mutt rifle look like a super sniper or varmint rifle. For 70 bucks and a bottle of true oil you could corner the market with multiple looks for the low end Savage's in 30-06 etc. Thumbhole varmiters, standard wood stocks, etc all placed on the rifle after removing the composite. This is what I did with mine (after I broke the OEM composite stock in a tragic 4 wheeler backing up incident) Boyds stock and a Cabelas Pine Ridge Scope. Heck I'll even work with ya for a small fee to do your sanding and refinishing for "custom stock work" Rabbi.
  18. Way to go! Just goes to show, follow through with all possible recourse to get your goals. Congrats to your SIL
  19. The dark side reveals itsself once again.... I don't care who you are...that was funny. I especially like Tungstens reply on "appropriateness". Who said the screen writers guild was on strike....Funny lives HERE!
  20. collateral damage? with a pulse Flechette pistol...ridiculous...that only occurs when you don't pay attention with your rail gun and its nuclear power pack.
  21. nope its considered a weapon under TCA, right there with knifes over 3 inch blade length.
  22. Took the youngest out Saturday morning. Thermometer in Wayne Co said 24 degrees. He last an hour and 15 minutes before he said his feet were numb and he couldn't breathe and not cough....work to be done....work to be done. Heck, its not deer hunting if your comfortable!
  23. another classic thread
  24. Sarah, Just to clue you in on one more tidbit of knowledge, the folks here are VERY knowledgable about gun laws so their offers in chat to sell you a firearm were not only an attempt at helping you now but maybe later. You have surely seen and heard all the rhetoric about gun laws, bans, etc. Well in Tennessee as well as many other states, you can sell a gun to a friend without being required to fill out the federal transfer forms. You should of course get the persons name your buying from as well as who you might be selling to...there is a "Friend to Friend" or FTF form copy of a document here on this site. That form should be kept for your protection but not neccessarily shown to any "gubment" worker bees in the future should the weapon you purchase become a banned one. The short sweet version, buy a decent pistol from a local TGO member FTF so Aunt Clinton can't come take it away should the worse befall us. Troll - someone who is using an alternative name or ISP to "troll" the site without any information that can be used to follow their postings except their ISP info. Usually used when some bozo goes off the deep end and gets banned from a site and then comes back. Again, with the current pro and anti gun stance, we watch when a new person comes in and asks for details about law, our viewpoints on it and such. Someone per se writing a thesis at UT about gun law, the VT shootings, etc, might find this site interesting and informative but with the proper editing and slanting of certain posts, could also be detrimental to our thought thats our ability to own guns is not to be restricted any more than it already is and we MUST be allowed to defend ourselves since we cannot count on our local agencies to be there when its most needed. Welcome, don't be afraid to post, chat if you feel like it, when your ready purchase a weapon of your choice and how you want to. Back to the sidelines of one very long thread! Oh, I recommend the pulse flechette pistol in the tri barrel format for doggie walking:eek:
  25. Just a side note, if you go to 1911.org be very careful of what you say and even what your screen name is. I was banned because I refused to change my screen name of Rightwinger and the little Greek dude is a closet nazi and said it was an obvious political statement and he wouldnt' stand for it. I'm Rightwinger on every forum I belong to and it stays....he went. No loss. Soapbox back in closet....continue festivity.
